Like most of the world, I have been considering the Israel / Gaza slaughter with fascination and a sense of dread. Did Israel allow the events of October 7, 2023 to happen? It appears so. Were the savage acts of Hamas sickening? It appears so. Have the ensuing actions of Israel in Gaza been devastating? Yes.
Have the reactions of the general public in nations around the world, and on the internet, become increasingly polarized? Definitely.
Geopolitical expert and former U.N. weapons inspector Scott Ritter has predicted Israel will lose this war, and deservedly so.
At the height of the hysteria during the build-up to Operation Desert Storm®, and in the jingoistic fever of the newly coined War on Terror®, Ritter claimed Saddam Hussein had zero Weapons of Mass Destruction®. Ritter was right back then, so, now, I pay attention whenever he addresses global tensions.
However, there are many others, including especially some Christians, who believe Israel cannot lose; and, today, as of this writing, The Jerusalem Post has predicted a truce.
Who is right?
I recently viewed a video posted on the Lew Rockwell website entitled: “Bad Theology: Israel, the “Rapture,” and the End Times” and the Bible scholar in that interview claimed modern Israel is a secular nation having nothing to do with Biblical Eschatology.
Of course, other Christians disagree with that conclusion and believe the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is still dealing with the nations of the world through Israel – and just before the return of Christ.
Apocalyptical interpretations, and misinterpretations, regarding modern Israel are concerning because people act upon what they believe… one way, or another. Hence the great divide today, as derived from historically ancient faiths; and why supporters of both Israel and Palestine/Gaza are protesting and rallying around the world.
In February 2019, I considered some of the potential interpretations of possible events in an article entitled “As the Games Begin…”:
Some… Christian Zionists believe the entire world would embrace the Psalm 83 war as the Book of Revelation’s “Armageddon” thus setting the stage for planet earth to accept a false messiah; like Islam’s Twelfth Imam, a Talmudic strongman, a fake return of Christ, or possibly even an outer-space alien (i.e. metaphysical demon / fallen angel) as all of the above – and delivering a false peace and prosperity thus fulfilling the “strong delusion” or “great deception” or “falling away” of the Bible’s 2nd Thessalonians, chapter 2, verses 3-12…
…Other Christians claim the Psalm 83 prophecy is credible because none of those nations are named in the Ezekiel 38 and 39 war when Russia, Iran, Turkey and other countries come against Israel or, even later, in the Sixth Trumpet War of Revelation 9 when the Kings of the East (China?) march up the Euphrates river to Israel in the battle just prior to Armageddon.
Crazy, no? Again, don’t kill the messenger. All of this is on the internet and, as some claim, in the Bible.
On the other side of the debate… many folks, including several bloggers and online commenters, believe modern Israel is the de facto “Synagogue of Satan” as referenced in the Bible’s Book of Revelation (Rev 2:9 and Rev 3:9). These verses refer to those “who say they are Jews but are not”.
Correspondingly, a video at StopWorldControl.com about modern Israel, its early formation and sinister benefactors, is quite compelling – just not to those who believe a Psalms 83 War (paired with other Biblical prophecies) will result in the complete destruction of the following nations:
– Gaza (Philistia)
– Egypt (Edom, Ishmaelites, Moab, Hagrites + Isaiah 19:1-25)
– Jordan (Ammon & Amalek + Ezekiel 25 & Jerimiah 49:1-2)
– Iraq (Ammon & Amalek + Babylon in Jeremiah 50 & 51)
– Syria (Assyria & Hagrites + Isaiah 17:1 & Jeremiah 49:23-27)
– And, as some claim: “Gebal” and “Tyre” will be decimated prior to the conclusion of the Psalm 83 war – with these referring to modern Lebanon and southern Lebanon (Hezbollah), respectively, as well as Turkey.
But others argue Turkey (i.e. “Gomer”, “Meshek”, “Tubal”, & “Beth Togarmah”) won’t meet its fate until the later Ezekiel Chapters 38-39 War involving Russia (Rosh), Iran (Persia), Libya (Put), Ethiopia (Cush), and the Central Asian nations (Magog) including…but perhaps not limited to… Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. I say “not limited to” because some interpreters include Afghanistan in the latter group and I’ve also seen Ukraine, the Baltics, and Eastern Europe included under “Gomer” as well.
Anyway, here is the point: Many Bible “scholars” believe ancient scriptures have predicted that modern Israel would defeat wave after wave of military attacks by other countries. First, the surrounding Psalm 83 nations, then, later, the Ezekiel 38-39 war, until, finally, the Sixth Trumpet War of Revelation 9 when the Kings of the East (China?) march up the Euphrates river to Israel in the battle just prior to Armageddon.
All of this, in accordance with other prophecies in the Bible, such as…

Around two weeks ago (as of this writing), Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, referenced Hamas in relation to an ancient tribe of people called “Amalek” in scripture. He said: “You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible. And we do remember.”
In the Bible’s book of 1st Samuel, in chapter 15, God commanded (Israel’s) King Saul to “go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass “
But, not wanting to be overly cruel, King Saul disobeyed God’s command and Israel was eventually given cause to kill others who didn’t deserve to die. This story, in fact, is said to have inspired the concept of “cruel to be kind” – thereby instilling this maxim into Jewish culture:
“To be lenient when you should be firm is to be cruel when you could be kind.”
Or, in other words: “He who is compassionate to the cruel will ultimately become cruel to the compassionate”.
Or, stated another way: “Destroying evil is perhaps the greatest act of kindness possible.”
Nonetheless, non-Zionist Christians (such as the Bible scholar in the above-embedded “Bad Theology” video/link), as well as pretty much all non-Christians, consider this type of Biblical parsing and cherry-picking of scripture to be completely ludicrous, if not insane; especially as the headlines rage:

But even if the Psalm 83 War came to pass in the days ahead, most of the world would surely call it a coincidence… or Armageddon… or claim it occurred as the result of a deceptive conspiracy using the Bible as a script.
Conversely, if peace suddenly broke out in the Middle East and World War III was narrowly averted, the prophecy experts will likely claim that Armageddon was delayed… but only for a while.
For how long? I guess we’ll see. Hence this time-stamped post.
If Israel wants to be able to defend itself from Hamas without bringing civilians into the issue, it will need to empty the Gaza population into say the West Bank. Then, innocents will be able to exit the battlefield, leaving Hamas to fight. Otherwise, this will be an endless cycle – Hamas attacks Israel, Israel goes after Hamas in Gaza, Hamas hides amongst civilians, huge loss of civilian life happens, rinse and repeat. It is an issue without any possible resolution.

Obviously, Barrett, like all of us, operates from a set of assumptions and there is no doubt that Barrett articulates very well his premises regarding Israel and Zionism.
One of Barrett’s assertions is that people must choose sides. In a previous article, he even went so far as to say he supports Hamas. The reason given is that he believes standing with Hamas goes against The Powers That Be (see Barrett’s article on “Why I Support Hamas.”)
But, at the same time, in supporting Hamas, he aligns himself with the same rainbow flag-waiving blue-haired woksters who support Ukraine.
So I am not so sure about having to choose sides. Not my dog, not my fight. Ya know?

If you start with something as simple as HG Wells A Brief Outline of History, you will discover, in short order, that trying to use names for people and places is pointless. Humanity- at least on a civilizational level- is a never ending ebb and flow of peoples moving into environments that best suit them based upon a limited set of factors; fertility of land, proximity to water, ease of movement, availability of natural resources, climate and most importantly of all, the ability to defend against other groups seeking the same thing.
The Fertile Crescent is a great example of a place that has, over time, had numerous names, Mesopotamia, the Levant, Akkadia, Summeria, Assyria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Ottoman Empire, Persia, etc. It has also been governed or ruled over by a never ending stream of peoples, some successful for very long periods of time, some only for a brief stint.
The written records of that time are sparse up until the Greeks, but even those are unreliable (did Homer even exist?) and some records- like the Bible- appear to be nothing more than a collection of older mythologies rebooted to suit new dynasties.
If you want a much more thorough understanding of mankind and what’s going on, even in our own era, it is best to concentrate not on ancient prophecies and religious texts of another time, but on the consistent and repeated behaviors of man himself. That part does not appear to change much at all, no matter what political, religious, ideological, technical, military or philosophical framework they embrace.
We are at our very root another species trying to perform our basic function- survive and reproduce- and that has always been at the expense of competitors. And competitors- like the people we consider as our own- usually have innate, genetic predispositions based on their inherited characteristics and tribal or blood affiliations. You can pretend that we are all one race- which in general terms is true- but you cannot explain any of the historical record of rise and fall, conflict and trade, peace and alliances, conquests and colonialism without taking this immutable fact into account.
What is occurring in this era is no different than what occurred in any that preceded it. Some of these people engage in domination and conquest, others in parasitism and mass migration. Not one of these strategies has proven to be completely effective over time and each one has in its course proved both successful and as completely failed, i.e. extermination and extinction.
We are simply in the midst of another of these conflicts, much larger in scale and far more mobile due to advances in both transportation and communications. If you’d like to think that this is biblical, that’s fine, but to think that the names and places named in the bible refer to modern peoples is simply not true at any level. The people who came up with Gog and Magog are no longer with us, and their understanding of who those opponents were has altered so much in the time between its origins and today as to be meaningless. The current struggle is a hybrid of several conflicting motivations, Islam is religious in nature and in a growth phase, The West is a dying civilization lashing out at its collapse, most of Africa is not yet even cognizant of its existence above the tribal level but growing at a rate that cannot contain itself to its own continent, Globalists are a very small number of deranged psychopaths who have seized the levers of technical and scientific power and thus have far greater influence than their numbers would allow absent those technics, and the remainder of the world- particularly the East- are simply riding along on the currents created by these other conflicts, and by their long patient suffering paired with their mimicry of the West’s technologies, appear to be sitting this episode out on the sidelines.

My point is not to allow yourself- not you particularly, but anyone- to be swept up into a frenzy over something that is ahistorical. While I make no claim to be a biblical scholar, I try to recognize it for what it is today; a framework for understanding human behavior through the examples of past behavior. If you want to understand personal responsibility, for example, you look to Pontius Pilate’s personal struggle and ask yourself if simply washing your hands absolves your guilt. You do not have to trace your lineage to the Roman people to make that connection.
I think that the same can be said for anything else that is taking place in the modern era.
Perhaps the most difficult thing for any human to do is to see himself outside of his own time. It is why we continue to make the same kinds of mistakes again and again because each new generation is unable to see that maybe this time it will be different never applies to the behavior of a given species.
I do not, nor am I interested in taking the Bible literally because even those who do attempt to modernize it, for example saying Gog and Magog are Russia. Then why, if God is the author of scripture and the Alpha and Omega, did He not write Russia?
Hopefully you get my point. And for those who insist that this time it is different and that the names in the Bible aren’t really the names of particular people but rather reference to some other people in some other time and place that need explaining, I guess you’ll figure that out on your own.
Humans behave the way they were designed to operate. War is not a bug, it is a feature. We don’t have conflicts with one another because of the color of our skin or because of the funny little hats some people choose to wear, or because we are good and they are evil, but because we are driven to survive and reproduce as a species and sometimes that puts us at odds with different peoples. We identify with our kin, they with theirs but when the time for conflict arises we both resort to the exact same sort of violence and cruelty. One is not sacred and the other profane, they are just manifestations of our desire to propel our seed into the next generation.
There seems to be a seductiveness to bias that escapes individual perspective. Not sayin’ you, per se, just sayin’.

1.) Is revelation actually prophetic of the end times?
Some people believe it is. Even the Bible provides a way to judge a prophet versus a false prophet. If a prediction is made and it comes true, well, then, there is probably something to it. It means there may be a God who operates out of time and is still doing so – even if most of the world disagrees.
These people would say that Catholics from centuries ago might look at the modern Catholic Church and call it the “ great whore that sitteth upon many waters…the mother of harlets… drunken with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus… who sitteth in a city of 7 hills (Revelation 17)
Revelation 3 talks about a mark in order to buy and sell and Revelation 18:23 says: “for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. The original Greek word for sorceries is farmakia (pharma).
First, the WEF, CBDC’s, Digital ID, and, now wars in Israel, too?
Hence the Bible parsing and genealogies of nations – supposedly, some of the research by bona fide theological experts.
2.) Then, there are those who are skeptical (and rightly so, I might add).
And… even if predictions made by those who believe in certain eschatological interpretations come to pass… and in the wake of my time-stamped post above… (and as I wrote above)…. “most of the world” will have their own beliefs on those events and… “call it a coincidence… or Armageddon… or claim it occurred as the result of a deceptive conspiracy using the Bible as a script.”. In that latter group, some will even cite Revelations regarding the “Synagogue of Satan” verses as mentioned in my article above.

So consider this post as just a marker. A description of the breach; and time may reveal it to be an asset toward the pursuit of common sense… or an exercise in metaphysics.

We can’t know how shit began, but we can infer that because any system that continually increases entropy fails that the Source has a vested interest in decreasing it. Maybe It was bored or wanted help and created us for usefulness and, don’t discount, novelty. We are consciousness in a state of being where we can increase the quality of it, life after life, perhaps unevenly, but en masse we can help to decrease entropy.
What’s love got to do with it? Everything. I don’t think this is an audition for the next world power. I think this is a struggle of East vs West and the US “Rules-Based Order” Empire vs the up-and-coming Russia, China, Iran, India, etc non-US/multipolar world. It looks like so far the West is losing, which makes sense-they’re weak and worn out and under assault from all directions.
Everything that’s been going on in the last few years has been the symptoms of both sides finding and poking each other’s pressure points. Georgia in 2008 was us poking at Russia and Russia knocking us down hard. Ukraine 2014-now was us poking Russia and Russia swatting us down hard. Syria has been us poking Russia/Iran and them poking back. Azerbaijan/Armenia 2023 was probably the US poking Russia back and Russia letting that slide. Niger last month looks like it was Russia poking us back and us backing down. Israel now is Russia poking us hard and us having to drop the Ukraine to help prop up Israel.
The next major pressure point is probably China and Taiwan. Other potential pressure points include criminal illegal aliens inside the US, drug cartels in Mexico, some kind of war in South America, economic crisis in the US, migrant chaos in Europe, etc.
Expect more chaos as both sides keep pushing and testing each other. With the US broke, its population demoralized, its military depleted in the Forever Wars and its supplies wasted on the Ukraine, it’s highly unlikely we have the ability to seriously do much to stop the East without strategic weapons.
