NB: This is a follow up to a previous article which I felt compelled to submit because I had left out some really popular and/or active commentators. Once again, I apologize in advance if I have yet still missed out popular posters but time, age, c’est la vie … If you comment suggestions I will endeavor to submit them in future.
Background: I asked the drawing engine of ChatGPT, named DALL-E, to create a picture of popular TBP commentators based only on their monikers. The requests to DALL-E were phrased very simply and took the format of “Draw a picture of –moniker-“. In some cases I needed to add a qualifier such as “… as a man” or “… as a woman” otherwise the resulting images would not be meaningful. The text descriptions of the images are also from DALL-E itself which it displays after creating the image.
Once again, how ChatGPT comes up with these images from such a simple input is quite interesting and often amusing. Enjoy, after all, if we can’t laugh at you, who can we laugh at??
The pictures are in alphabetical order except TMWNN who deserves to be listed first since without him there, there’s no you here.
TMWNN – An image inspired by ‘The Man With No Name,’ capturing the essence of the iconic Western gunslinger against a backdrop of the desolate, sun-bleached desert.
22WinMag – Here’s an image of a humanoid character personifying the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (Win Mag)

I find all the generated pics to be interesting.
I tried generating images with Dall-E when part 1 came out and was not able to come even close to those posted above. They were okay, but something in the description is off. Any suggestions? What sort of phrasing is used?
Phrasing is literally “draw a picture of -moniker-“. Sometimes, if the moniker contains no meaningful clues I would add “as a man”. e.g. the moniker T4C means nothing on its own so you have to add the qualifier “as a woman”. In a rare case I would add one additional qualifier to get closer to the picture I know everyone would enjoy e.g. in the case of RiNS I added “as a viking”.
This is the subscription version of DALL-E and using latest iteration of ChatGPT.

You want to paste an image from your computer to this forum? You need to upload to an image sharing service and get the hyperlink to your image from that service. Use https://postimages.org/ – they work fine. When your image is uploaded it gives you several hyperlinks, choose the one called “Direct Link” and paste that into a comment here.
Oh, and if you enter the exact same request multiple times you get a different picture each time. So I take just the first image generated.

Its interesting. I’m seeing the AI looks only to be creating the images based on the monikers name only and not on any of the persons messaging content. Which I noticed the first time that you had different results based on further defining the parameters. Not surprising.
I’m curious what results would show for those that show their names like Stephanie and mark, or m where there are no clues. I actually assumed the AI would scan the monikers messages.

No, the pictures created by the drawing engine have no relevance to the content of posts made here. It is 100% purely based on its “interpretation” of the moniker (plus, as a man or woman). Any likeness to the actual person, whether physically or contextually, is pure coincidence. RiNS wishes he looked like that viking 🙂 LOL
In respect of proper names e.g. “mark”, the engine default reply is that it cannot draw anything without further information such as hair color, height, etc. which is, of course, not the point of the fun and games. Not trying to create pictures of the actual people but rather what the “AI” makes of a moniker.

T4C – a “problem” with DALL-E is that you never get the same picture twice even if you use exactly the same request as before. So I asked it again to draw T4C with the qualifiers “as a white woman”. This is the result, hope you like it, I think its awesome 🙂

Now I turn to the darkness. Interesting that a program from what must be the matrix is showing us the human flavor that is facing engineered extinction. I am not familiar with the organization OpenAI, but I don’t suppose that their successes will be used to maintain a human population above half a billion. In a way, Uncle Ted warned us. I have become a pragmatist. Use whatever tools are at hand to get what you want, but don’t think free public services from incorporated power are the work of benevolent agencies.
I’m no expert in AI specifically but am quite IT literate. I am in the camp that AI is potentially an immensely dangerous tech. Its all fun and games asking it to create pictures and no harm in that but there is, in my opinion, a far more dangerous side which is how it will influence society at large, especially the less educated, and how it might be applied to benefit, as usual, the few and control the many.
The great danger of AI is not that it has intelligence like we as humans know it but rather that it becomes so sophisticated (even just as a rules-based software application) that its behavior becomes indistinguishable from human intelligence. It is not a debate about whether AI is “intelligent” like us but rather what happens when we cant tell the difference. And then that event combined with robotics and, well, that can become interesting … see the movie Ex Machina for an example of this future.
There was a video posted in a comment yesterday of a robot harvesting wheat. HSF commented that it was obviously fake, which I agree it was. But I tell you, robots like that will happen in the life times of our children. Bank on that.
My hope is that the same problem plaguing the utility of products by Boeing Company will put a halt to high tech means for the sovereign interlopers. Of course, that is not a strategy. I’m fucked. A second dark age may be the only cleanser, and there ain’t no telling what Western stock will and won’t survive.

However…I must confess that my moniker is inspired by Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister. Lead singer and bass player of the band Motorhead.
When asked to describe himself in and interview, his response was something to the effect of “49% motherfucker, 51% son of a bitch.”
Lemmy would probably be viewed as a degenerate rock and roller by most on this forum. And he probably was a complete degenerate. But he also had a strong belief in personal liberty, and a definite “Fuck the man” attitude.
I’m certainly not a degenerate, but I very much enjoy having a good time. A “good time” to me is everybody has fun, and no one gets hurt.
