“Seven F*cking Dollars!”: Social Media Influencer Rages After Paying $7 For An Apple At Whole Foods

Via ZeroHedge

We’re being told that Bidenomics is working and that inflation is under control.

Yet, when we see articles about shoppers in America paying $7 for an apple, it’s hard to make peace with the narrative the current administration is trying to convince its populace of.

That was the case last week when a Boston-based influencer took to Tik Tok to claim that she paid $7 for an apple – and only an apple – at a Whole Foods, according to a report by the NY Post.

Literally just did grocery shopping at Whole Foods and look at this. Guess how much this is. This is an apple, it’s called a Sugarbee f–king apple apparently and look at it,” she said.

She continued: “The size of my palm. I thought it was like probably 2 to 3 dollars. I scanned this motherf–ker I scanned it — 7 f–king dollars, 7!”

The user @via..li shared a video of her expensive purchase on social media, which has been widely re-circulated. The video, now deleted from her account, featured her removing an apple from a bag outside an unnamed Whole Foods store.

As the Post notes, Whole Foods’ website prices the Organic Sugarbee Apple at $3.99 per pound across most Boston areas, though rates can differ by location. In her video, the TikToker even confirmed the price with a store employee.

She added: “Genuinely what economy are we all f–king living in that it costs 7 dollars to buy an apple? I could have sworn that some other like apple that I bought was not 7 f–king dollars. It’s crazy, like 7 dollars for a latte? OK. This apple better be tasting so f–king good.”

Viewers responded with an array of comments, with some supporting the influencer and others questioning her. One user wrote: “On average a pound will give you 2-3 apples. Maybe her anxiety was leaning on the scale.”

Another added: “Even more insane when you realize that’s almost an entire hour of labor for some people even in the US. Imagine working an entire hour in exchange for 1 apple…”

My Dad had an apply farm. in 1959 we were thrilled to receive $2.70 for a bushel of US number one Macintosh, red delicious, Cortland a little more for Northern Spy. They were sized 2 and half inches and up. A bushel of applies weighed 60 lbs. Sales to dealer received some discount but a marginal profit to a fuor person farm family.
Lower quality and cooking applies considerably less but all hand picked with local labor at 15 cents a bushel or $1.05 per hour. thirty five miles from Syracuse, NY. No food stamps but no one starved and everyone worked or sought work. School bus let off older guys to work afternoon from 2.30 to 5.30. My grand pa spoke of apples sold on street corners 30 years earlier for a dime.

Trump spent over $2 trillion in his 4 years. But the Democrats try to falsely blame him for $7 trillion, of which $5 trillion was covid relief.
The covid release was a series of Bills, everyone of them written by, cosponsored by and introduced into Congress by a Democrat. They were vote buying in an election year and that forced the Republican to go along or the Democrats would have been screaming the Republicans don’t care about Americans. So every House Rep. and every Senator present voted for the Bill. (a few Senators were home self isolating with covid but all expressed support for the disastrous bill)
So the Bill was veto proof. Now some complain Trump wanted his signature on the bill, but why wouldn’t he, it was a vote buying scheme he recognized but couldn’t stop, so why not make the best of a bad situation?

I will add that from what I can gather that during the pseudo-pandemic lock downs vendors started spotty price gouging. One must shop around to avoid this newly predominant scam. I suspect that businesses are being squeezed from above and are trying to recoup government imposed costs by squeezing below. Shit rolls downhill. If something seems crazy expensive, there’s a good chance it is. Do you higher serfs have the time and gas (or shipping charges, same thing except diesel) money to shop around? You so special. These young women ought to be smarter, don’tcha know. We found two who ain’t fat or stupid. Humanity may live to fight another day. The strong shall inherent the earth.

Hilarious! I hear people complain of inflation all day long.
Especially at the grocery store where they show off their horrible parking skills in the brand new Jag or G wagon, or lifted Dodge Ram on aftermarket rims spaced out more than the crazy look in their eyes that a lb of butter was more than 6 whole dollars! Then after my blank stare to their comment doesn’t soothe the adult baby. They drive off in huff yelling at Grandma or Grandpa to get the “Fuck out outta my way”.

The people hurting from inflation talk about ways to save money.
The people who haven’t been held responsible for one decision in their lifetime are “poor” because of greedy supermarkets and their $6 butter that made them miss this weeks rent. Which they were not going to pay anyways because the slumlord owner won’t throw out my trash for me. Garbage day comes and goes this guy never shows up to wheel my bins to the street and now because of him there is garbage all over the place. Like “What am I paying him for?” This goddamn influencer inflation is killing me.

I am in the South too. Mufflers are a sin on all motorcycles, a third of trucks and a tiny fraction of cars. When they jack up trucks crazy high, they can tip over.

I get to drive a low ground clearance car. Down here the street on an intersection or a parking lot access to the road may slope and form a crisp angle with the the road it impinges upon. Really sucks for low ground clearance.

Sometimes, I think generational Southerners assume a higher vehicle clearance than others do. Driving paths should not have sharp vertical changes. The car front end gets abused that way. It is a silly little compact car. Barely not a toy.

Down with subhumans!

They grow all these varieties here, crisps, fuji, gala, the works…. Plus cherries, peaches, nectarines, all manner of soft fruits, the influx of east indians tore out orchards and brought in ground crops.

S Okanagan still has lots of apples but they are slowly being squeezed out by vineyards big’n small. Washington state just south of us is still a major producer.

The nice thing about this area is its hot in summer and mild during winters. Plus all the fresh produce, fruits and veggies. I raised hogs on culls alone when we had the farm. BEST hog meat you’d have tasted and virtually no fat. Wowsers, I miss it bad…
