Journalist Gets It

Submitted by Hardscrabble Farmer

It’s horrifying how some young Western men are so alienated by woke culture that they even admire the Taliban’s twisted mindset, writes MARY HARRINGTON

Amid the blood-spattered horrors of Kabul, perhaps the most startling response has been an outpouring of warlike passion from disaffected young Western men. But they’re not backing Western soldiers. They’re cheering on the Taliban.

Far-Right groups are gloating. One user on an online message board called the toppled Western-backed Afghan government ‘globohomo-clownworld’. He characterised this as powered by ‘liberalism, consumerism, secularism, usury, democracy, global capitalism… and most of all, feminism/women’s rights/women’s liberation’.

Such men consider abhorrent this value system that an America-led coalition spent trillions of dollars trying to instil, via two decades of Afghan ‘nation-building’.

A Heedless Aftermath

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

For all the seeming power of the Deep State — a.k.a. the “Intel Community” — one really has to be impressed by its stupidity and desperation. It can’t keep secrets or cover its tracks. Anyone who was paying attention to the RussiaGate operation has seen the published evidence of all the lawless behavior it spawned and knows the names of all the players. Ditto, the effort to engineer the 2020 election and install an obviously senile puppet-stooge in the White House. And ditto the effort to manufacture the Covid-19 crisis by hijacking the public health apparatus of the federal government.

Biden: ‘We Are Not Negotiating With Terrorists, We’re Just Giving The Taliban Whatever They Ask For’

Via The Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C.—President Biden today reassured citizens that he did not violate America’s longstanding ban on negotiating with terrorists, because he just said ‘yes’ to whatever they asked for.

“I would never negotiate with terrorists! I’m Joe Biden!” screamed the President, as aides tried to calm him. “The Taliban guy – who by the way, was a lot friendlier than some of you so-called journalists – asked if we could leave on August 31st because that’s his birthday. His birthday, ok? I just said, hey bucko, Uncle Joe loves birthday presents! You bet! You call that negotiating with terrorists? Hogwash!”

Resettling Afghan Refugees: The Path Forward

Guest Post by Joe Guzzardi

Before diving head-first into the cold and murky water that is Afghan refugee resettlement, two irrefutable truths should be acknowledged. First, the U.S. exists to serve and protect its citizens. Other considerations, whatever they may be, come in at a distant second. As such, President Biden must prioritize the evacuation of Americans from Afghanistan. Second, the federal government cannot, over the last half-century, point to a single immigration program or strategy that has, from its citizens’ perspective, been properly managed or enhanced their lives.

Only the naïve could expect the Biden administration to efficiently oversee Afghan migrant resettlement.

Given those important and indisputable realities, only the naïve could expect the Biden administration to efficiently oversee Afghan migrant resettlement. Still, the burning question in Washington right now is: what to do about the hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees searching for safe haven in their preferred destination—which is, as it always is among the world’s refugees, America.
