Obama’s priority: Not protecting Americans

Guest Post By Thomas Sowell

The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is both a danger in itself and a wake-up call for Americans – about President Obama, about the institutions of this country and, most important, about ourselves.

There was a time when an outbreak of a deadly disease overseas would bring virtually unanimous agreement that our top priority should be to keep it overseas. Yet Barack Obama has refused to bar entry to the United States by people from countries where the Ebola epidemic rages, as Britain has done.

The reason? Refusing to let people with Ebola enter the United States would conflict with the goal of fighting the disease. In other words, the safety of the American people takes second place to the goal of helping people overseas.

As if to emphasize his priorities, President Obama has ordered thousands of American troops to go into Ebola-stricken Liberia, disregarding the dangers to those troops and to other Americans when the troops return.

What does this say about Obama?

At a minimum, it suggests that he takes his conception of himself as a citizen of the world more seriously than he takes his role as president of the United States. At worst, he may consider Americans’ interests expendable in the grand scheme of things internationally. If so, this would explain a lot of his foreign policy disasters around the world, which seem inexplicable otherwise.

Those critics who have been citing Barack Obama’s foreign policy fiascoes and disasters as evidence that he is incompetent may be overlooking the possibility that he has different priorities than the protection of the American people and America’s interests as a nation.

This is a monstrous possibility. But no one familiar with the history of the 20th century should consider monstrous possibilities as things to dismiss automatically. Nor should anyone who has followed Barack Obama’s behavior over his lifetime, and the values that behavior reveals.

A few critics who, early on, sensed something un-American, if not anti-American, in Barack Obama succumbed to the idea that he was not a native-born citizen. That claim blew up in their faces.

Nor was birthplace crucial anyway. People born overseas have put their lives on the line to defend America, and scientists who escaped from Europe in the 1930s played a major role in creating the nuclear bomb that made the United States a superpower. Conversely, the country’s most notorious traitor – Benedict Arnold – was born on American soil.

Whatever the reason, or combination of reasons, that led to President Obama’s foreign-policy disasters around the world – with the crowning disaster of all, a nuclear Iran, looming on the horizon – it cannot be a simple lack of knowledge or experience. Various former members of the Obama administration are telling the same story, of information and advice from knowledgeable and experienced officials being ignored by this vain and headstrong man.

Back in the 18th century, Edmund Burke pointed out that, whatever the institutions of government, most of the outcomes of what it does “must depend upon the exercise of the powers which are left at large to the prudence and uprightness of ministers of state.”

What did the American voters know about the prudence and uprightness of this untried man they elected president, as a result of his glib rhetoric and his racial symbolism? It is not just bad luck when a reckless gamble turns out disastrously.

No one knows at this point how big the Ebola danger may turn out to be. But what we do know is that official reassurances about this and other dangers have become worthless.

The erosion of constitutional government over the years has become, under the Obama administration, a deluge of arbitrary edicts and defiant lawlessness protected by a grossly politicized Department of Justice.

It may be time to consider reorganizing the institutions of government, so that high officials who try to reassure the public about medical crises are not officials who serve “at the pleasure of the president.” Nor should the attorney general, whose duty is to enforce the laws, be part of an administration whose law-breakers the Justice Department can protect from prosecution.

Ebola – The Next Plague/Pandemic?

Ebola

On Wednesday another American, NBC News reporter in Liberia Ashoka Mukpo was diagnosed with the deadly virus, the channel reported. He is being evacuated to the US for treatment. However, the appearance of Ebola in Europe has not been widely reported. On Friday, Germany confirmed its second case of Ebola, as a man flown from West Africa into Frankfurt University Hospital has been placed in an isolation ward.

According to the latest figures disclosed by the UN World Health Organization (WHO) there have been 7,178 confirmed cases since the first Ebola patient was treated early this year. The agency says there have been 3,338 deaths from Ebola based on information provided by the Ministries of Health of Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

Danse Macabre

We are looking at almost a 50% mortality rate. That is up there with the Black Plague of the 14th century. There was of course the 1916 Polio (poliomyelitis) epidemic that inflected 27,000 people and killed 7,000. Polio came back 1949-1952 infecting 99,801 people in USA killing 6,020 people with about 500,000 deaths worldwide. This disease has tended to infect city-dwellers and is known even in ancient times to have hit many people. There was the 1916-1926 Encephalitis lethargica or von Economo disease is an atypical form of encephalitis. Also known as “sleepy sickness” epidemic that killed 5 million people in Europe and North America alone. Then the 1918 Spanish Flue that killed an estimated 100 million worldwide. The 1980 AIDS epidemic infected 988,376 people killing 550,394 by December 2005.

AntoninePlague

The three greatest plagues were Antonine Plague, due to the name of the Roman emperor in power at the time, 165–180AD, which had a mortality rate of about 30% of population Europe, Western Asia, Northern Africa. The type of disease is not known, but the symptoms were similar to smallpox.

The second great plague was known as Plague of Justinian, due to the name of the Byzantine emperor in power at the time, 541–542AD, which killed about 40% of population Europe. This was the Bubonic plague.

Then there was the great one known as “Black Death”, which killed 30% to 70% of population in various countries within Europe between 1346–1350AD. This was the plague that came to Europe from Crimea in Ukraine/Russia.

CampFunstonKS-InfluenzaHospital-1918

The 1918 flu pandemic (January 1918 – December 1920) (pictured above) was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic. This was the first of the two pandemics involving H1N1 influenza virus. It infected 500 million people across the world, including remote Pacific islands and the Arctic, and killed 50 to 100 million of them. The mortality rate is better known as a percentage of the world’s population being about 5% while the mortality rate among those infected was about 20% making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in human history.

Plagues are important. My own family came to America prior to the American Revolution. The first Armstrong to arrive in American was named Martin. My family even fought in the American Revolution. However, there was a plague that hit Philadelphia/New York region during the mid-1800s. My ancestor Martin at that time saw his entire family die. The woman next door saw her children and husband die. The two eventually married and restarted a family. So I guess I am here today because of that plague.

We are trying to gauge the extent of infection as a percentage of population, the mortality rate among those infected, in order to see if this is going to be a big one or a blip that is not huge as a percentage of world population. Everything is cyclical. When you get flu shots, they are based upon cycles and which strain should appear and when. This is the annual flu season.

To be accurate, the study we are conducting has several layers to it. Plague is typically a bacteria whereas a virus is different. Both have become pandemics which is an epidemic that has spread through human populations across a large region; for instance multiple continents, or even worldwide. A widespread endemic disease that is stable in terms of how many people are getting sick from it is not a pandemic. Further, flu pandemics generally exclude recurrences of the seasonal flu. Throughout history there have been a number of pandemics, such as smallpox and TB (tuberculosis). More recent pandemics include the AIDS (HIV) pandemic as well as the 1918 and 2009 H1N1 virus pandemics.

For the purposes of our study, we plot both separately and then combined. In the words of Hillary Clinton – “what difference does it make” if you are dead.

EBOLA – FEAR MONGERING OR REAL THREAT?

I’m a born skeptic. When I’m told that 3,300 people in Africa have died from the disease over the last few months, I don’t go running for my bunker. There are 7 billion people on this planet and a miniscule fraction of them died from ebola. To put that in perspective, 1 million people die from Malaria in Africa every year. For the math challenged, that is 2,740 people PER DAY. So why is the world in such an uproar about ebola? The American healthcare workers who contracted it, were cured within a couple weeks after getting treatment in the U.S.

Is ebola a nasty disease? Yes.

Is it going to become an epidemic in the U.S.? No.

Will it be used by doomer websites to drive visitor counts? Yes.

Will it be used by media outlets to increase ratings? Yes.

Will it be used by “scientists” and drug companies to increase their funding and profits? Yes.

Will it be used by the government to further restrict my liberties and freedoms? Hell Yes.

Will it be used to instill fear in the sheep and keep them distracted from how badly they are getting fucked by those in control? Absolutely.

Will I be losing any sleep over the ebola fear mongering? Not one minute.

Now for my wise and sage advice. DON’T GO TO AFRICA. DON’T HAVE SEX WITH AN AFRICAN. DON’T LET AN AFRICAN SNEEZE IN YOUR FACE.

The slimy Wall Street shysters are already profiting from the fear mongering by convincing muppets to buy obscure drug companies and hazmat suit makers. If there were justice in this world, dozens of infected ebola victims would be unleashed into the executive offices of every Wall Street banking entity and told to spit in the faces of Jamie Dimon and the rest of the criminal cabal. A man can dream, can’t he?

Now back to your regularly scheduled financial doom.

Sen. Rand Paul sounds Ebola alarm

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, warned that the U.S. could be underestimating the potential for Ebola to wreak havoc in the U.S. because of “political correctness.”

“It’s a big mistake to underestimate the potential for problems worldwide,” Paul said on “The Laura Ingraham Show” Tuesday.

Citing reassurances by the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Tom Frieden, that there was little risk of a traveler bringing Ebola to the United States and causing an outbreak, Paul countered, “I really think that it is being dominated by political correctness and I think because of political correctness we’re not really making sound, rational, scientific decisions on this.”

The CDC announced Tuesday that the first U.S. case of Ebola had been confirmed in a Liberian man who had traveled to Dallas to visit family.

“We should not underestimate the transmissibility of this,” Paul, an opthamologist by trade, said, noting that even doctors and nurses wearing gloves, gowns and masks are contracting the disease. “My suspicion is that it’s a lot more transmissible than that if people who are taking every precaution are getting it. There are people getting it who simply helped people get in or out of a taxicab.”

The World Health Organization says that health-care workers have frequently become infected while treating patients with the virus because of “close contact with patients when infection control precautions are not strictly practiced.”

Paul, who is thinking about running for president, also questioned President Obama’s decision to dispatch 3,000 military personnel to West Africa to help combat the spread of the disease.

“Where is disease most transmissible? When you are confined on a ship,” Paul said.

He also assailed doctors like Ezekiel Emanuel – the brother of former White House Chief of Staff and current Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel – who said on MSNBC Tuesday that people who suggest there will be an outbreak in the U.S. are “fear mongering.”

Paul pointed to past outbreaks, including the Spanish flu in 1918 and the Bubonic plague in the 14th century that killed millions to demonstrate that disease pandemics can spread rapidly.

Earlier in the show, he sarcastically said to Ingraham, “I can’t believe that you don’t think it’s enough of a plan to prevent worldwide pandemic to cough into your elbow. If you just bring your elbow up to your mouth and cough into it, surely that will stop a worldwide pandemic,” a reference to the president’s instructions to the American public in 2009 to sneeze into their sleeves, rather than their hands, to help stop the spread of the H1N1 flu virus.

Not all politicians share Paul’s view that the U.S. is taking insufficient precautions. On the other end of the spectrum Wednesday was Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who held a news conference to calm residents of his state, ground zero for the first U.S. Ebola case.

“There are few places in the world better equipped to meet the challenge that is posed in this case,” said Perry, who is also considering a presidential bid. “Texas is one of only 13 states certified by the CDC to conduct diagnostic Ebola testing. And we have the health care professionals and the institutions that are second to none. The public should have every confidence that the highly trained professionals involved here will succeed in this very important mission,” Perry said.

“This case is serious. Rest assured that our system is working as it should,” he continued. “Professionals on every level of the chain of command know what to do to minimize this potential risk to the people of Texas and of this country, for that matter.”

When the Ebola Vaccine Becomes Mandatory … Will You Get It, Or Go To Jail?

Three things I probably should have known, but didn’t;

—– 1) The CDC, NIH, and Bill Gates OWN the patents to the Ebola virus

http://www.thecommonsenseshow.com/2014/09/17/the-cdc-nih-bill-gates-own-the-patents-on-existing-ebola-related-vaccines-mandatory-vaccinations-are-near/

—– 2)  Executive Order 13295, passed by George W. Bush in April 2003, allows for the “apprehension, detention, or conditional release of individuals to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of suspected communicable diseases,”

—– 3) Executive Order 13603, states that Americans in the healthy zones, will be conscripted for both military duties and civilian work brigades … and will not be paid. (In other words, slavery will have re-emerged inside of the United States.)

So, as far as Doomsday Scenarios go, this article seems to be quite reasonable when one plays connect-the-dots.

As for me, regarding the choice of jail-or-immunization … I just don’t know 100%, but I’m guessing I’d choose immunization … sadly.

How Ebola Will Irreversibly Transform America

by Dave Hodges

quarantine zones

In the face of an Ebola outbreak, the government should be deploying the military at all border entry points and in airports for the purpose of establishing quarantine zones for passengers suspected of exposure to the Ebola virus. All flights, to and from Africa, should be banned from entering U.S. airspace.

Instead of protecting America, this administration is sending 3,000 soldiers, untrained in dealing with Ebola outbreaks, to Africa for reasons that nobody can seemingly identify? Why? We continue to leave our southern border completely open and Ebola, in the form of a bio-terror weapon can and will be brought into the United States. Again, I ask why?

The CDC[2] owns the patent on Ebola and every strain of the virus up to 70% of the variance from the original pathogen. Why is this not being reported in the mainstream media? Crucell tested an Ebola vaccine in 2006 on 32 humans. There is not one word of this mentioned by the six corporate conglomerates which own 95% of the media. Why?

The National Institute of Health (NIH[3]) owns the patent on the Crucell[4] developed vaccine. Also, the Army is involved in the creation of the vaccine. Why won’t the mainstream media report what is so easily discoverable in the public domain? And you can bet, regardless of the efficacy, that vaccines will be mandatory in order to maximize profits in the midst of America’s decline.

Not much about the handing of the Ebola virus makes any sense. However, once the spread of the virus begins, inside of the United States, a very predictable pattern will ensue. It will basically be the same pattern that sociologists have reported on in virtually every disaster scenario whether it be a pandemic or an EMP attack. The following paragraphs discuss some of the issues and patterns that will emerge when Ebola comes to America.

The Beginning

What will happen when Ebola comes to America in a significant and undeniable manner?  With regard to this administration, when, not if, Ebola comes to the U.S., you can count on this administration to not let a good crisis go to waste. And in this case, the early days of an Ebola outbreak will be used to detain as many political dissidents as possible under Executive Order 13295. Many dissidents will have upper respiratory illnesses, colds and asthma. None of these conditions has anything to do with Ebola, but that won’t be the point.

The referenced executive order, entitled Revised List of Quarantinable Communicable Diseases[5], amends Executive Order 13295[6], passed by George W. Bush in April 2003, which allows for the “apprehension, detention, or conditional release of individuals to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of suspected communicable diseases,” will come into play in a significant manner.

The EO has nothing to do with preventing the spread of Ebola and has everything to do with arresting dissidents who have colds, asthma or an upper respiratory infection. The purpose is to remove the command and control of any potential opposition to this administration’s handling of the coming crisis.

Panic Will Ensue by the Third Day

empty grocery store shelves[7]The panic portion of this phase will begin as individuals stop showing up for work, personal vacations and business trips will be canceled. Sales of survival gear and most all, firearms and ammunition, will skyrocket until the government suspends these activities under a declared martial law.  Grocery stores will be empty and canned food and bottled water will become worth its weight in gold.

Very quickly, the “three thousand mile salad” will become a thing of the past because all “Just in Time” (JIT) delivery, the backbone of the consumer economy, will be gone due to imposed travel restrictions and a growing fear of Ebola in which many truck drivers will refuse to make deliveries to impacted areas.

Quarantining the Healthy with the Sick

quarantine zones2[8]In areas where the virus is present, isolation of the victims will not be feasible. Instead we will see what are witnessing in Liberia, quarantines will confine the healthy with the sick. The healthy, fearing contamination, will try and fight their way out of containment zones in order to avoid being trapped an exposed, in close quarters, to the Ebola virus. America has 150 million gun owners armed with 300 million handguns. The United States will be the site of widespread violence as the newly declared martial law troops, under the auspices of the United Nations, will attempt to enforce containment zones. There will be no question that many Americans will attempt to fight their way out of the containment zone in order to escape certain exposure to virus.

By this point in time, the infection will have become widespread with the CDC basically admitting that regional quarantines of cities and major metropolitan areas will become the primary method of containment. Everyone inside of the containment zones will potentially be a “dead man walking”. Drones will likely patrol the skies on the fringes of the containment areas and will destroy people attempting to escape.

Economic Collapse

economic collapse[9]Commerce will come to a crashing halt and our financial institutions will go into free fall. People, in critical services will begin, by the third day, to fail to report to work. Vigilantism will become the rule of law.

As was the case in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the police, fire and medical personnel abandoned their posts and their duties on the third day. Armed groups of citizens will roam the quarantined areas in search of essential resources needed for survival. There will be nobody to call for help. Untreated Ebola victims will die agonizing deaths. Eventually, a quarantined area will lack the resources to even bury the dead. This will exacerbate the spread of the Ebola and the emergence of secondary diseases (e.g. Cholera) which will kill more than the Ebola virus.

The violence and the victimization will be horrific. Society, within the quarantine zones will collapse, warlords will appear and open warfare will take place. The powers that be will not intervene so long as the fighting does not threaten to break the containment zones. There will, however, be organized attempts to break through containment to get to safety. Military technology will be brought to bear to enforce containment of areas afflicted with Ebola.

Chronically ill people, about 15-20% of the nation, will not be able to obtain critical medical services and medication. The healthcare industry will collapse. The economy of the country will begin to fall into complete collapse as absentee rates of  60% plus due to illness and voluntary absenteeism which will shut down not only the transportation system but increase the strain on every system needed to maintain a society.

future labor camps[10]Military hospitals and isolation or quarantine camps will be established by FEMA to ensure that the infected or those suspected of infection are prevented from traveling throughout the region or other parts of the country to spread the disease.

Initially, some communities will witness 50% infection rates with 80-90% of all confirmed cases dying. And now that we know that Ebola is transmissible through the air[11], there is no telling how quickly Ebola will spread. Entire neighborhoods, with nowhere to escape from, will be wiped out by the Ebola. Who will maintain the water and sewage services and who will pick up the trash? The spread of disease will be catastrophic.

As Ebola Spreads From City to City

As the nation’s economy collapses, the government will seek to maintain a smaller, secondary economy. Therefore, it will be likely that the government will move people to safe areas and normal services will be initiated. Uninfected people , with critical skills, will be the first to be “invited” and a mini-society will emerge under the “Continuity of Government” regulations. Workers, with essential skills will be conscripted to perform services needed by the emerging society.

Without JIT and the global economy in play, local manufacturing will emerge. It is likely that the government is preparing for this now as they are surveying all school employees for essential skills related to reconstructing a society. FEMA has published a training manual[12] which serves as the rough draft model for school safety to be enacted by all 50 versions of the State Department of Education, in times of an emergency. Of particular importance and relevance is a document  from the Arizona Department of Education entitled “Staff Skills Survey and Inventory[13]“, which is located on page 76 of their school safety manual. In the appendix, I list a copy of the skills survey being given to every public school employee in the Appendix. It is clear that the government is preparing to “enlist” those with skills deemed critical.

Meanwhile, on the international front, the nations of the world will shut down their borders to foreigners in a futile effort to stop the spread of Ebola.  Without a global economy, the stock market will collapse, as will the banks. There will be little commerce beyond simple bartering and trading.

The discovery of Ebola within the swine population will cause the mass kill off of the live food supply. The end result, may God help us, could be the introduction of cannibalism. Commerce, public safety and human decency as we have known it, will become a thing of the past.

The Enslavement of the Healthy Population

Under Executive Order 13603[14], American people, in the healthy zones, will be conscripted for both military duties and civilian work brigades. Currency will be worthless by this time, and these “consultants” will not be paid under this EO. In other words, slavery will have re-emerged inside of the United States.

Section 601 of the act specifies, in part, how far the government can go in terms of making you their slave.

Sec. 601. Secretary of Labor. (a) The Secretary of Labor, in coordination

with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of other agencies, as deemed

appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, shall:

(1) collect and maintain data necessary to make a continuing appraisal

of the Nation’s workforce needs for purposes of national defense;

(2) upon request by the Director of Selective Service, and in coordination

with the Secretary of Defense, assist the Director of Selective Service

in development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of

persons for duty in the armed services;

(3) upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this

order, consult with that agency with respect to: (i) the effect of contemplated

actions on labor demand and utilization; (ii) the relation of

labor demand to materials and facilities requirements; and (iii) such other

matters as will assist in making the exercise of priority and allocations

functions consistent with effective utilization and distribution of labor;

(4) upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this

order: (i) formulate plans, programs, and policies for meeting the labor

requirements of actions to be taken for national defense purposes; and

(ii) estimate training needs to help address national defense requirements

and promote necessary and appropriate training programs

If the above section was merely going to be a military draft, then the Secretary of Labor would not have to be involved. However, as you will note the “Secretary of Labor, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and heads of other agencies, as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, shall: …assist in the development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of persons for duty in the armed services;… formulate plans, programs, and policies for meeting the labor requirements of actions to be taken for national defense purposes; and (ii) estimate training needs to help address national defense requirements and promote necessary and appropriate training programs…”.  Refer back to section 502 of sections 710(b) and (c) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2160(b), (c);  these are the people that the Secretary of the Labor will conscript in order “to employ persons of outstanding experience and ability without compensation and to employ experts, consultants, or organizations”.

This, my fellow Americans, is a civilian conscription and this is why the Secretary of Labor is in charge instead of the head of the Selective Service! Under these provisions, the government believes that they can send you anywhere, to work on anything of their choosing. This is slavery!

Will the Obama administration, or some future administration, send you to a detention camp to work? It is obvious that families will be separated. If the parents are split up to different locations, what happens to the children? Will CPS raise your children in your absence? With legislation this broad, anything is possible.

Mandatory Vaccines

A preventative vaccine in addition to the successful cure are now in widespread production and shared with the world. The preventative vaccine becomes mandatory for all citizens of the United States but some resist suspecting ulterior motives. Those families are quarantined in their homes and subjected to prosecution by the military courts under the National Emergency declaration.

Conclusion

What will a post-apocalyptic America look like? The answer to that question will center around what the Agenda 21 advocates have been calling for. What America will look like after the collapse will be the subject of a future article.

PANIC – RUN AROUND IN CIRCLES – EBOLA IS GOING TO GET YOU

Ebola is going to get you unless ISIS gets you first. Or will evil dictator Putin start World War III in his efforts to take over the world? Or will Iran detonate a suitcase nuke in your city because they hate us for our freedoms?

Start wearing a breathing mask, run in circles and panic.

Tyler Durden's picture

EBOLA – OVERPOPULATION CURE

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I’m supposed to be scared of the dreaded ebola virus. We’re all going to die. It’s the fear mongering tactic for this week. One week it is Putin. The next week it’s ISIS. One week it’s terrorists streaming across our southern border. It’s always global warming (oh yeah climate change). I don’t give two fucks about the ebola “epidemic”. Why don’t they create an ice bucket challenge to cure it? We cured ALS last week. Right?

It seems the doom websites have bought into this terrible threat hook line and sinker. This is nothing more than another way to keep the sheep docile and cooperative as the authorities pretend to protect them from a phantom menace.

Ebola is not in the United States. You see we’re a first world country where we don’t piss where we drink or shit in our front yard. Africa is an overpopulated cesspool inhabited by ignorant dreadfully poor people who live their entire short lives in utter squalor. Most of the countries are run by dictators and socialists. The people reproduce at 4 times the rate of first world countries. Of course they are going to create disease and starvation on a massive scale.  There are consequences for every action. Did you notice how quickly the infected Americans recovered when they got to a first world country?

Sorry folks. It’s not our problem. We do not have the financial resources to save all seven billion people on this over-populated planet. We already spend $2 billion per day more than we generate in taxes. The same control freaks who blather on about population control are the same ones saying we have to do something about the ebola “crisis”.

I’ve got an idea. Let Africa worry about their problems. They can either take the necessary steps to control their populations or disease will control it for them. It really is pretty simple. A telethon with George Clooney and the rest of the Hollywood douchbags will just perpetuate the continued behavior of these countries.

Aldous Huxley pondered the future of the planet and overpopulation in 1958 in Brave New World Revisited:

“In the bad old days children with considerable, or even with slight, hereditary defects rarely survived. Today, thanks to sanitation, modern pharmacology and the social conscience, most of the children born with hereditary defects reach maturity and multiply their kind. Under the conditions now prevailing, every advance in medicine will tend to be offset by a corresponding advance in the survival rate of individuals cursed by some genetic insufficiency. In spite of new wonder drugs and better treatment (indeed, in a certain sense, precisely because of these things), the physical health of the general population will show no improvement, and may even deteriorate. And along with a decline of average healthiness there may well go a decline in average intelligence.

Meanwhile we find ourselves confronted by a most disturbing moral problem. We know that the pursuit of good ends does not justify the employment of bad means. But what about those situations, now of such frequent occurrence, in which good means have end results which turn out to be bad?

For example, we go to a tropical island and with the aid of DDT we stamp out malaria and, in two or three years, save hundreds of thousands of lives. This is obviously good. But the hundreds of thousands of human beings thus saved, and the millions whom they beget and bring to birth, cannot be adequately clothed, housed, educated or even fed out of the island’s available resources. Quick death by malaria has been abolished; but life made miserable by undernourishment and over-crowding is now the rule, and slow death by outright starvation threatens ever greater numbers.”

Advances in medicine have allowed more people to live lives of squalor, hunger, and slow death. It’s a moral dilemma that cannot be solved by the American Empire with more money printing. We are busy waging wars around the world to reduce the surplus population.

And by the way, how about an inconvenient fact? There have been less than 2,000 ebola deaths on the entire planet since this dreadful outbreak. How come we weren’t worried about the hundreds of thousands dying from malaria or malnutrition? I guess those deaths aren’t sexy and scary enough. Call me when 7 million have died and I’ll pretend to be worried.

At least Michael Snyder had something to write about yesterday.

16 Stunning Quotes From Global Health Officials On The Ebola Epidemic

Submitted by Michael Snyder of The Economic Collapse blog,

Ebola continues to spread an an exponential rate.  According to the World Health Organization, 40 percent of all Ebola cases have happened in just the last three weeks.  At this point, the official numbers tell us that approximately 3,967 people have gotten the virus in Africa and more than 2,105 people have died.

That is quite alarming, but the real problem will arise if this disease continues to spread at an exponential pace.  One team of researchers has used computer modeling to project that the number of Ebola cases will reach 10,000 by September 24th if current trends continue.  And if the spread of Ebola does not slow down, we could be dealing with 100,000 cases by December Even the WHO is admitting that the number of cases is likely to grow to 20,000 before too much longer, and global health officials are now starting to use apocalyptic language to describe this outbreak.

For people in the western world that have never seen anything like this other than in the movies, it can be difficult to grasp just how horrible this epidemic truly is.  In the areas of west Africa where Ebola is spreading, fear and panic are everywhere, food shortages are becoming a serious problem and there have been reports of dead bodies rotting in the streets.  People are avoiding hospitals and clinics because of paranoia about the fact that so many health workers have contracted the disease.  According to the World Health Organization, more than 240 health workers have gotten the virus so far and more than 120 of them have perished.

We have never seen anything like this in any of our lifetimes, and the scary part is that this might only be just the beginning.

The following are 16 apocalyptic quotes from global health officials about this horrific Ebola epidemic…

#1 Dr. Tom Frieden, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: “It is the world’s first Ebola epidemic, and it’s spiraling out of control. It’s bad now, and it’s going to get worse in the very near future. There is still a window of opportunity to tamp it down, but that window is closing. We really have to act now.”

#2 Dr. Joanne Liu, the international president of Doctors Without Borders: “Riots are breaking out. Isolation centres are overwhelmed. Health workers on the frontline are becoming infected and are dying in shocking numbers.”

#3 David Nabarro, senior United Nations system coordinator for Ebola disease: “This outbreak is moving ahead of efforts to control it.”

#4 Dr. Bruce Aylward, WHO’s assistant director-general for emergency operations: “This far outstrips any historic Ebola outbreak in numbers. The largest outbreak in the past was about 400 cases.”

#5 Margaret Chan, the head of the World Health Organization: “…we hope to stop the transmission in six to nine months”.

#6 Dr. Daniel Bausch, associate professor in the department of Tropical Medicine at Tulane University: “You have a very dangerous virus in three of the countries in the world that are least equipped to deal with it. The scale of this outbreak has just outstripped the resources. That’s why it’s become so big.”

#7 Gayle Smith, senior director at the National Security Council: “This is not an African disease. This is a virus that is a threat to all humanity.”

#8 Dr. Tom Frieden, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: “The level of outbreak is beyond anything we’ve seen—or even imagined.”

#9 Vincent Martin, head of an FAO unit in Dakar:  “This is different than every other Ebola situation we’ve ever had. It’s spreading widely, throughout entire countries, through multiple countries, in cities and very fast.”

#10 Dr. Richard Besser, health and medical editor for ABC News: “Emergency rooms are closed, many hospital wards are as well leaving people who are sick with heart disease, trauma, pregnancy complications, pneumonia, malaria and all the everyday health emergencies with nowhere to go.”

#11 Bukar Tijani, the UN Food and Agricultural Organization regional representative for Africa: “Access to food has become a pressing concern for many people in the three affected countries and their neighbours.”

#12 Keiji Fukuda, the WHO’s assistant director-general for health security: “People are hungry in these communities. They don’t know how they are going to get food.”

#13 Dr. Daniel Bausch, associate professor in the department of Tropical Medicine at Tulane University: “This is for sure the worst situation I’ve ever seen.”

#14 Dr. Tom Frieden, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: “I could not possibly overstate the need for an urgent response.”

#15 Official WHO statement: “Staff at the outbreak sites see evidence that the numbers of reported cases and deaths vastly underestimate the magnitude of the outbreak.”

#16 Dr. Joanne Liu, the international president of Doctors Without Borders: “It is impossible to keep up with the sheer number of infected people pouring into facilities. In Sierra Leone, infectious bodies are rotting in the streets.”

Despite all of these warnings, a lot of people in the western world are not too concerned about this epidemic because they have faith that our advanced technology will prevent a widespread Ebola outbreak in the United States and Europe.

But I wouldn’t be so certain about that.

So far, the most promising experimental Ebola drug seems to be ZMapp.  In clinical trials, it has been doing very well on monkeys.

However, it hasn’t turned out to be a silver bullet for humans so far.  Two out of the seven people that have received ZMapp have died, and as CBS News recently explained, current supplies are exhausted and it takes a really long time to make more of this stuff…

ZMapp’s maker, Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc., of San Diego, has said the small supply of the drug is now exhausted and that it will take several months to make more. The drug is grown in tobacco plants and was developed with U.S. government support.

Kobinger said it takes about a month to make 20 to 40 doses at a Kentucky plant where the drug is being produced. Officials have said they are looking at other facilities and other ways to ramp up production, and Kobinger said there were plans for a clinical trial to test ZMapp in people early next year.

The cold, hard truth is that Ebola is a brutally efficient killer for which we do not have a cure at the moment.

And what makes things even more complicated is that a different strain of Ebola is now spreading in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  A treatment that works for one strain of Ebola may not work on another strain.

So let us hope and pray that Ebola does not reach the United States.

If it does, it could potentially spread like wildfire.

IS EBOLA JUST ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO DISTRACT THE IGNORANT MASSES WITH FEAR?

If it looks like a government manufactured crisis, smells like a government manufactured crisis, and the captured MSM does their part to promote crisis and fear, it’s probably a government manufactured crisis. Do you notice how the MSM and the government have done a 180 degree shift from Putin shooting down an airliner (another false flag) to this new worldwide Ebola crisis? Why would the government allow these two infected Americans back into the country? They won’t let you on a plane if you have the mumps, measles or chickenpox.

The economic situation of this country sucks, no matter what you are told on the boob tube by the corporate propaganda media. US influence around the world is in rapid decline. Everything we touch goes to shit instantaneously (Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Ukraine). The people need to be kept in a constant state of fear from terrorists, the Russians, Iran, and now from the terrible Ebola virus. Throw in a few Plague victims in Colorado for good measure. They don’t want you focusing on the Ponzi scheme and pillaging of wealth being pulled off by TPTB.

This is nothing more than another government method of keeping the sheep penned in and frightened. Trust the government to keep you safe. Sacrifice some more liberties and freedoms. The majority will quiver as they have been conditioned to over the years. When will people wake up from their stupor and realize what is happening?

Don't Fear Ebola, Fear the State

It is difficult to contract the deadly viral disease Ebola.

In order to get it, you have to be in direct contact with blood and other body fluids from an infected person or animal. Aerosol transmission is not possible. The possibility of widespread transmission is extremely low due to a high fatality rate and the remote areas where infections usually occur.

According to some members of the medical establishment and the corporate media, the spread of the disease is out of control in the African nations of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. A chart posted on Daily Mail claims 1,201 people in those countries tested positive for the disease and 672 have died this year. The Daily Mail says Ebola is “as infectious as flu,” a claim that is patently untrue.

As Jon Rappoport told Alex Jones on Thursday, the death rate from Ebola is nearly infinitesimal when compared to seasonal flu, which kills between three and five million people every year. Like previous “pandemic” diseases like Swine Flu and West Nile, Ebola is being exploited and exaggerated as part of a psychological operation by government.

Disease, natural disaster, and man-made crises are routinely exploited by government as pretexts to enlarge and extend its power and reach. The state and its propaganda media thrive on one manufactured crisis after another as part of a systematic effort to ramp up the police state. The goal is not protection of the people. It is an all-encompassing surveillance state with a militarized component designed not to save us from evil terrorists or scary diseases, but control the population and maintain through fear and violence its political monopoly.

A fear-mongered Ebola – far less threatening to the average American than a stay at the hospital or driving a car – will be used to impose new restrictions on the movement of citizens. The CDC website reveals what the government plans to do in the event the difficult to spread disease arrives in America – enforce isolation, quarantine, and government decree enforced at gunpoint. “In addition to serving as medical functions, isolation and quarantine also are ‘police power’ functions, derived from the right of the state to take action affecting individuals for the benefit of society,” the CDC states.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon is on its game. “The military has response plans in place for national emergency events that could include anything from a pandemic outbreak to economic collapse, both of which could lead to civil unrest,” writes Mac Slavo. “The Department of Defense informed Congress that it has deployed biological diagnostic systems to National Guard support teams in all 50 states” despite a complete lack of Ebola cases and the improbability of a pandemic.

In addition to providing an excuse for an enlargement of government and military power, hyped up pandemic threats are used by transnational corporations to increase profits.

In 2010 the outgoing Chair of the Council of Europe’s Sub-committee on Health, Wolfgang Wodarg, told the Alex Jones Show that the 2009 swine flu pandemic was a hoax manufactured by pharmaceutical companies in league with the WHO to make large profits while endangering public health. “It is their trick that they always try to monopolize this and we pay much more like this,” said Wodarg.

Fast tracked vaccines that may become mandatory

The National Institutes of Health, a biomedical research facility under the Department of Health & Human Services, has announced it is working with another government behemoth, the Food and Drug Administration, to fast track an Ebola vaccine.

“We are starting to discuss some deals with pharmaceutical companies to help scale it up, so on an emergency basis, it might be available in 2015 for health workers who are putting themselves at extreme risk,” Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Fast tracked vaccines and accompanying pandemic psychological warfare has resulted in the state and its supported institutions – including hospitals, schools and even private daycare centers – making flu vaccines mandatory for workers.

The New York Times and the establishment media are now demanding mandatory vaccinations for children and the elimination of all exemptions. As if that is not bad enough, some are calling for mandatory participation in vaccine clinical trials as well.

“Many societies already mandate that citizens undertake activities for the good of society,” writes Susanne Sheehy for the American Medical Association, a government-sanctioned cartel that specializes in making healthcare unaffordable.

Beware when government and its preferred corporate partners argue in favor of mandatory activities supposedly for the good of society.

This invariably results in authoritarian behavior, conscription, and wealth confiscation at gunpoint.
