An Austrian, a Mongolian, and a Pygmy walk into a bar …

Last week the UK Daily Mail ran a somewhat interesting article titled “The world’s most bizarre cultural traditions endorsed by Unesco”, here ——-

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-2883973/Oil-wrestling-Niger-s-sense-humour-whistled-language-La-Gomera-world-s-bizarre-cultural-traditions-endorsed-Unesco.html

One of the unusual traditions added:  “The Intangible Cultural Heritage list includes Polyphonic singing of the Aka Pygmies of Central Africa”

Now … I have never heard of “Polyphonic singing”. So, I looked it up. It is also known a “overtone” singing …. or, basically, singing two notes at the same time.  Incredible.

So, in this who-does-it-better post for Continued Cultural Edumacation, I’ve included three videos;

— 1) the pygmy tribe mentioned above,

— 2) an Austrian woman

— 3)  a Mongolian band — because that’s where polyphonic singing originated, according to wiki.

Who does it best?
