I have posted here for years, and I have never wished anyone dead or threatened them in any way. Quite the contrary – I wish them all the best, even you.
And a story. I was walking down the sidewalk one day. He was around sixty. I was a young man. Two young men stepped out of a bar, one of them, a young man of around late twenties, big and strong looking, pushed my father with two hands to the chest and told him to get out of the way.
My father rather quietly said these exact words: Son, I would not do that if I were you.
My father then went to step around the young man. The young man pushed him again.
My father beat that young man with his fists until he was totally motionless. The other young man turned out to be his brother, and was screaming “you are killing him, you are killing him!”. He started to intervene but I discouraged him. – and quite possibly saved his life when I told him I would not do that if I were you.
My father and I went on our way. The ambulance came and took the young man away. I have always believed he died. But I am not entirely certain. Neither my father nor I lost any sleep over it. It was stand your ground rules,far as we were concerned.
