NY COPS BREAK SPECIAL ED STUDENT’S ARM

Know your enemy.

Rotterdam police allegedly broke the arm of an emotionally disturbed 16-year-old boy after two cops tried to remove him by force from a school bus he refused to leave, and a video revealed the cracking sound of a bone followed by the teenager’s moans and shouted expletives.

Now an attorney representing the teenager’s family is suing the town and seeking damages in excess of $1 million for a fractured humerus, possible nerve damage, medical expenses and pain and suffering.

The attorney said the teenager’s medications were being adjusted at the time, limiting his ability to move. He has been diagnosed with multiple emotional disorders, including Tourette syndrome, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder and pervasive developmental disorder, according to the family’s lawyer.

The incident unfolded on the morning of Oct. 9, 2013 in the driveway of the teenager’s Rotterdam home and came to light late Friday in a news release issued by Rotterdam Police Chief James Hamilton who said a review determined that “officers followed department protocol and procedures.”

In addition, police charged the teen, Jacob Gocheski, with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, a misdemeanor. He appeared in Rotterdam Town Court on Nov. 18 on the charge, which is pending.

Attorney Kevin Luibrand filed a notice of claim on Jan. 6 against the town on behalf of Gocheski and his parents. “There was clear and obvious use of excessive force,” Luibrand said Friday. “They placed his arm in a position where they locked the arm and proceeded with significant force to break the arm between the shoulder blade and elbow, creating a displaced fracture.”

Luibrand released an X-ray of the teenager’s left arm that showed a gruesome break and a shattered bone midway up the bicep.

The way we’d handle it here in Minneapolis is a lawsuit and judgment in favor of the kid for maybe 1/2 million dollars, property taxes go up and the cop stays on the normal track for promotions. Lather, rinse repeat. Cops don’t mind costing the city millions due to brutality any more than they feel guilty about the brutality itself. Also beating up on the homeless is relatively inexpensive.

There’s nothing “alleged” about it it’s on video. These cops should be hanging from lamp posts.

Not to excuse the copfuks behavior, but the dumfuk kid could have gotten his dumass off the bus.

He was probably resisting more than was evident in the video, however, upon further review, it doesn’t appear that he was. That was a wicked arm move he put on the kid, apparently without provocation.

Also, the kid looks pretty normal.

Yet another bit of reality striving to see the sunlight again.

What in the HELL did we think might happen when we legislated “equality” and schooling for the unteachable/untrainable/un-learnable? (yes I made up a word).

We FORCE human children into situations that they have no means to be successful in. We spend five times the amount to “school” children that have little to no chance of ever separating from their disability payments.

Americans have a real issue understanding finite resources.

In my town the “special needs” children have three times the staff as the kids that will actually grow up and need to work.

We provide door-to-door bus service for the “special” kids while cutting busing for the kids (and families) that are going to have to work to support themselves.

This isn’t just a failure of rambunctious (potentially sociopath) cops, it is an indictment of the entire public school AND public protection systems we have created.

Yet it is 100% not allowed to have ANY of these conversations. If you DARE bring up cutting cops, or their pay, or cutting back on schools – especially the massive squandering of resources used to “educate” the unemployable – people cry, scream, riot. “It’s not FAIR! We won’t be SAFE!”

The most amazing thing is that this got out. The PTB are becoming very, very, good at burying their bad behavior while illuminating any of ours.

Is it wrong to pray for implosion and collapse? Cause I just don’t see how anything less than Armageddon could even hope to begin to fix this shit.

According to the video …. about 1 min 25 seconds (although we don’t know how long they were on the bus prior to the filming starting.)

At the 30 sec mark the fatfuk copfuk says “Right now this is a little problem …”

Stucky, didn’t you know that failing to be able to hear, or see, or understand, or mentally cope, with the instructions of any current soldier, oops, police officer, is immediate grounds for DBC (death by cop)?

Apparently, if you don’t understand, or cannot comply due to an illness or disease, it is equivalent to giving the cops permission to kill you!

What a great place this is!

THIS is why we should not be “mainsteaming” these children. They ARE special, they DO have special needs, and in my opinion those needs should be met by their caregivers – and their support – NOT the public schools, their protected unionists, all while being heavily policed by sociopathic town cops.

I am thankful, everyday, that my children were not born into such tough lives.

But, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, there is NO way if they were that I would sign up for bundling them off to public unionists for pretend school, actual daycare, and semi-prison environments of our “centers for learning.”

These children are literally our most vulnerable members of society.

And those we pay to protect us, or teach us, are literally some of the most ignorant, violent, vicious of us all and abuse them on a near daily basis.

Someday history will judge us by acts like this, not by the shininess of our uniforms, or the wittiness of our entertainment.

We should all be deeply ashamed. I know I am.

Stucky and others….why should the cops care…hell they can kill a homeless guy and get away with it . Its been ingrained in us since birth that the cops are our friends, our protectors . Perhaps they were a generation or two ago but with the militarization of the cops it’s them ( the warriors ) against us ( The enemy combatants ) .

“These children are literally our most vulnerable members of society.” ——– TeresaE

Truly, a beautiful statement. +100

Yeah, we (I) make fun of politicians doing everything “for the chill’un”. But, that’s only because they are such fucking hypocrites.

For me, it IS my number one hot button. There is NOTHING in the world that could incite me more to actually KILL a person than the slimeballs who harm a child. I totally applaud inmates who kill child-molesters in prison; they should get one year reduction for every molester they kill.

Ms. Freud is on a Downs Syndrome panel with Princeton University. She counsels some parents of these children. I have met many of these children. These are some of the SWEETEST and MOST LOVING people on the planet. What I especially love about them is that due to their “deficiency” they are virtually bereft of guile in any way, shape, or fashion. We should all be so deficient.

And we have some sick ass motherfuckers on here who say this kid deserved it????? And, from so-called “Christians” no less. These fukwad assholes are as guilty as actual molesters. I wish nothing but hellfire, plagues, diseases, and boils upon them. Yeah, it’s like that.

@TeresaE: +1000. As the mother of a son with mild Asbergers/Autism, this sort of scenario is the single biggest fear I have for him. Yes, people can be unkind or not give him the correct change, but Lord, at least they won’t KILL him for not understanding some instructions. I’m sure Stucky feels the same with his son with mental illness.

What have we come to in this country when simply being “uncooperative” with the authorities merits a death sentence?

From watching the video, my guess is that the bus driver called the police when the kid did not exit the bus. Many Americans can’t seem to solve their problems individually or as a community any more. So, they call their lawyer or the cops and make matters worse.

OMG – I grew up in Rotterdam.

My parents still live there. My brother, my sister and her family do too.

Rotterdam is a small town – adjacent to Schenectady NY.

Schenectady was once a beautiful city. But, the city’s fortunes went south when GE relocated its executives to Fairfield CT. Soon after, most of the factory (turbines for nuclear power plants) jobs went south too.

Today, Schenectady is a pit. The city fathers tried to revive it – restored the Proctor’s Theater – and are on their umpteenth plan to encourage people to move into downtown apartments.

The only people left in downtown Schenectady are welfare recipients in Hamilton Hill and retired Polish and Guyana homeowners who can’t afford to live anywhere else.

The Schenectady cops got caught stealing the heroin and coke in the evidence room, among other felonies – and eventually the FBI had to oversee the department. There was so much corruption in the police department – one officer, the head of the union – was named Hamilton too – refused to rat out the other officers – so he had to serve slam time. When he got out of jail, they gave him his union job back. No kidding. His cousin is the Police Chief in Rotterdam quoted in this story.

Rotterdam has not changed all that much since I moved out after college some 30+ years ago. It is 99% white – mostly Polish and Italian. EVERYBODY is related. They are all cousins. Good looking people. Not too bright tho.

The politicians stay in power by placing ALL their friends and relatives on the payroll. Nearly everybody (except my family) has a part-time job for the town.

The cops make over $100K a year – with the requisite bennies. They ALL live in beautiful new homes in a new development down the hill from my parents home. My father wanted to check the property tax rolls to see if the cops were getting a break on their taxes. My Mother talked him out if it, afraid the cops would spot them on their tour.

Nothing EVER happens in Rotterdam. A Walmarts was opened on the outskirts of Rotterdam near the Schenectady border that appears to be a crime magnet.

Nothing to justify their fat salaries.

In Rotterdam, if you are not bright enough to go to college, you become a cop.

I went to High School with Hamilton’s sister. The cops, like everybody else who works for Rotterdam has a political patron – so I am certain not one cop will be punished.

And since no politician ever wins an election without the endorsement of the Rotterdam Police Union – no head’s will roll.

This is a horrific story. The town will probably settle the lawsuit and the taxpayer will pick up the tab.

So sorry for this young kid.

I’ll call my Mom and find out more details.

Another example of militarized cops from the Washington Post:

Scenes from a militarized America: Iowa family ‘terrorized’

Watch this video, taken from a police raid in Des Moines, Iowa. Send it to some people. When critics (like me) warn about the dangers of police militarization, this is what we’re talking about. You’ll see the raid team, dressed in battle-dress uniforms, helmets and face-covering balaclava hoods take down the family’s door with a battering ram. You’ll see them storm the home with ballistics shields, guns at the ready. More troubling still, you’ll see not one but two officers attempt to prevent the family from having an independent record of the raid, one by destroying a surveillance camera, another by blocking another camera’s lens.

Exactly Hope, exactly. I have a cousin with Down’s syndrome, a couple with autism/Aspergers (but not diagnosed, different times), and worked for many years as part-time helper and full-time friend to a group of loving “girls” that lived in adult fostercare while I was kid/teen. They are our most vulnerable citizens and I’ve risked personal injury to protect them from the asswipes amongst up before.

But lets bring the point of these sociopaths home, it is possible for ANY of us, or our children, to end up in a reduced mental state due to no fault of our own.

What happens if we run into these soldiers then?

My mom was dehydrated from diuretics (last ditch effort to hold off pulmonary failure) to the point they thought she was in a coma and she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. The bastards at the hospital literally thought she had had a stroke and were virtually doing nothing. I arrived at the hospital (she had been there a couple hours) and within five minutes had figured out and questioned her hydration levels. Come to find out when you are dehydrated, or go into diabetic shock like my dad has, you become “mental.”

These things could happen to ANY of us, or a head injury, bad prescription, bad bug, bad food, could do the same things.

And apparently, it is not only the unionists that think it is ok to be killed or harmed because you are unable to bow at the feet of these mini-soldiers.

Makes one mourn for the country of my youth when cops were your friends, beer or pot was poured out, and children that are sitting in a seat are not subjected to aggression by taxpayer paid for adults. Unless, of course, the city allows and encourages it, like this town obviously does.

Scary stuff that the good citizens of this town have condoned this and have chosen to not get out while the getting was good. Now they will all pay for it while asswipes like these party, and assault, on.

Think of these scenes the next time you hear America The Beautiful, or the Star Spangled Banner. It nearly makes me puke.

OK. Just spoke with my Mom.

I told her the video of the cops breaking students arms went viral and it was a national story.

She said that the family’s attorney is a bulldog and will probably get the $1 million they are asking for. My Mom went to HS with the attorneys mother. My Dad thought thinks they will settle for $10k.

My Mom said the bus was parked in the students’ driveway, so she wasn’t sure why the cops were called at all. Couldn’t the boys Mom board the bus and ask her son to come in the home? Or, what was the rush? Why not wait until the student was finished playing his Nintendo game and left the bus on his own?

Apparently when the boy refused to get off the bus, the driver called the bus depot. His supervisor told him to call the cops – so he did. The older woman on the bus was an aide. Apparently asking the boy to leave was above her pay grade too.

There’s a story in local Schenectady paper today that the Top 10 highest paid Rotterdam employees are all cops.

The head honcho makes $202k. Number 10, a Sgt, earns $122k yearly. BTW – I used to babysit for the cop who is now a Sgt. His family lived on our street. His Mom was kinda loose number. His dad was a draftsman for GE. They were kinda cheap – used to ration the number of cookies and soda we could have when I babysat. Later divorced.

Anyway….

There are 42 cops covering a town of 25k people. No crime to speak of. They want to hire 5 more cops this year.

Too many highly paid cops without any real crimes to solve spells trouble.

Police should not have been called in the first place. But, I suppose grabbing a young boy and hauling him off a school bus – breaking his arm in the process – is now part of their job descriptions.

My parents heard that all the cops who live in mini-mansions down the hill from them hired an attorney and had their property taxes reduced. This is driving my Dad nuts. They are waiting for the one day of the year when anybody in Rotterdam can get access to the public tax records and look up their neighbors tax bill.
