Every time socialism has been tried, IT’S FAILED. Not 95% of the time, not 50% of the time, EVERY TIME.
Yet, here we are again, in 2014, up to our eyeballs in socialism, here in the USSA, in Venezuela, in France (if not most of Europe). In five short years, Obama and the liberals have turned our country into a socialist state. State run industry, central bankers, welfare states and countries. It’s failing again, badly, but the liberal progressives, here and abroad keep pushing, and pushing it.
Here’s a very intelligent man explaining, yet again, why socialism doesn’t work (at Oxford University no less). Why are we having this debate again? Doesn’t anybody ever learn?

Having explained how well socialism worked in France and in Venezuela, why socialism alway fails; and exposing the “costs” of socialism around the world, we leave it to the much more erudite UKIP member Daniel Hannan to explain why socialism does not work. Hannan, simply put, explains why socialism (using force to make individuals comply with planners plans) doesn’t produce the results the planners planned.
As Austrian Addict notes, socialists don’t like the spontaneous order that results when individuals are free to make decisions on what they produce, consume, and exchange. The only reason central planners think that socialism hasn’t worked is because it hasn’t been tried by the right people, namely them.
They have liberal twunts in England also. This one says socialism WORKS…..never mind history….
Most socialists (and fascists) really couldn’t care whether their system works. Their only concern is that they’re the ones running the show.
To have a thorough understanding of history and STILL think central planning is capable of working requires industrial-strength delusion.
Steve , all they care about is power . They don’t give a rats ass about poor people or the nation but it does work very well for the socialist like Obama. He has gotten rich and will be getting millions for speeches he will give to other socialist. For the central bankers, politicians , corporations ,unions and other government employees socialism works very well.Most of these people are nothing but parasites.They produce nothing of real value.

True. How is the USSA capitalistic oligarchic order working out? Socialism seems like a dream to the average person.
They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work. Anything that ends with a “ism” sucks

Or, in the USSA, a reality. There are 80 million more people getting money from the government than have jobs.
For the 110 million people on disability or welfare, who don’t have to work for a living, who vote for a living, free food, free cash, free housing, free healthcare, free meds, free phones, making the equivalent of $57,000 a year in cash and benefits tax free, it must seem like a dream. For the people that have to work for a living, who get 1/2 their money stolen by the criminal politicians, it seems like a nightmare.
Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money.
