I’ve got a long time friend who happens to be a cop. What he told me to do is never open the door, talk to them through a window. If you open the door, you might as well invite them in to violate you further. The window method is the correct way because it is not considered an entrance by any standards.
If you’re in Indiana I guess it may be OK to put the barrel of a gun through the window if you feel your life is in danger.
I watched this video this morning. I find it interesting that the majority of cops wanting to come into a person house are at a minority person place of residence .
I’ve had the cops come to my house once recently and they asked if we’d seen anyone prowling around the neighborhood…I answered no, which was the truth and they left. I guess being a predominately white neighborhood has its advantages .

Everyone should know the law in their own states… Buckhed is right, in Indiana, there is no right to resist unlawful police entry following a supreme court decision in 2011. We’re still waiting for that one to be struck down, but in the meantime, the state passed a law that residents have the right to shoot police officers who enter illegally. It’s a CF to be sure, but hopefully it will work itself out — police will be more careful not to enter without cause or warrant.

Not only should you not open the door, you should always keep the door LOCKED.
Let’s say there are suspected burglars in your area. Or, let’s say some snitchfuk neighbor calls the police and reports a suspected “disturbance” coming from your home. In such cases the copfuks are allowed to interpret an open door as a sign that something is amiss. The legal precedent for this is called “totality of circumstances”. Soooo, LOCK your door!

Stuck, my home was ensconsed in 1950’s honey brown paneling when I bought it. The paneling is literally over 1″ thick, so my options for changing it – without a total redo – were slim.
Option #1 was pay a guy to mud directly over the paneling, then finish and paint. Quotes ranged from $500 to $2000 dollars. Next.
Option #2, paint.
It has been nearly five years and I still love it. The only problems I have had is a couple spots where I obviously didn’t sand well enough, and my daughter chose the same spot to knock her chair into the wall repeatedly.
