Let’s assume for a minute that you’re a slave. All the product of your labor goes to your master. Of course some portion of what your master gets is used to provide you with what are your needs, food, clothing, housing, heat and so on and what is left the master keeps. That’s a fairly clear definition of a slave. 100% of the product of your labor goes to your master. You’re 100% a slave.

Consider a different arrangement. You work in a society where you pay substantial taxes, let’s say 40% to the government and what portion you have left after taxes just so happens to be barely enough to pay for your needs, food, clothing, housing heat and so on.

What’s the difference?

Are you 100% free – OR — 40% slave or are you still 100% slave?

The government is so huge it’s faceless. There is no one responsible for anything. Things just happen and keep happening. Each week a different crisis.

Remember this from 2010: A pilot furious with the Internal Revenue Service crashed his small plane into an Austin, Texas, office building where nearly 200 federal tax employees work on Thursday, igniting a raging fire that sent massive plumes of thick, black smoke rising from the seven-story structure.

A U.S. law official said investigators were looking at a lengthy, anti-government “manifesto” Stack is believed to have written on his Web site. The message outlines problems with the IRS and says violence “is the only answer.”

I really feel for this guy. He was a smart guy, he knew he couldn’t beat the IRS, but at least he took an action.

Re: Dutchman, I agree the gov is huge and faceless, but an almost equal problem is giant conglomerate companies. Ever try to get an actual person on the phone with Google? And if you do it’s some non-decision maker in India. I used the “chat” function once (I think it was Verizon) and got someone who could only converse in their pre-scripted responses. Infuriating but ironically funny at the same time.

Pie chart is worthy of a copy and paste to your friends, which I just did.

Thanks, Admin.
