Get ready for a shocker. The following is a quote from an article by Dr. Richard Friedman and published in the NY times on September 24, 2012.

“You will never guess what the fifth and sixth best-selling prescription drugs are in the United States, so I’ll just tell you: Abilify and Seroquel, two powerful antipsychotics. In 2011 alone, they and other antipsychotic drugs were prescribed to 3.1 million Americans at a cost of $18.2 billion, a 13 percent increase over the previous year, according to the market research firm IMS Health.”

Unfrickinbelievable.

When America went into Afghanistan and took over the poppy fields less than 10% of the worlds heroin came from those fields. Today, under our control, 97% of the worlds heroin is coming from there.

Heroin addiction has skyrocketed in the US in that time span. Also, big pharma has made a fortune off the “legal opium trade” with prescription pain killers. Our soldiers work for the druglords and we pay for it out of our tax dollars. This government should be renamed CRIME, INC.

“Today, under our control, 97% of the worlds heroin is coming from there (Afghanistan).”

Wrong. Nearly 100% of the heroin in America comes from two countries, Colombia and Mexico. Afghan heroin goes to Asia and Europe.

My wife had an outpatient surgery last week and the surgeon told her to take a pain killer for two or three days and after that just to take Tylenol as needed. The nurses had me stop at the hospital pharmacy as I went to bring the car around and pick up the prescription. I just grabbed it and headed for the car.

That night she took one pill mainly to get a good nights sleep but that was the first time I looked at the bottle. She was given a 30 day supply of Percocet which is actually Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. She took one more the following night at bedtime and never took anything, including Tylenol, after that.

Considering that his instructions were to take them for two or three days then switch to Tylenol I don’t understand why he gave her a 30 day supply. I could understand a week or ten days but 30?

They did the same for me for each ankle surgery I had and I don’t know how many times I was offered narcotics in the five years leading up to surgery.
