Luckly they got a rabbit to stand in for Jesus, as I would be uncomfortable eating a chocolate Jesus.
This year stepson family is coming over forbrunch. We are having Brut/ orange juice, egg puff, fried potoes, ham, strawberrys, and a chocolate Lindt bunny.

“Thou art become guilty in thy blood that hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all the countries.” Ezekiel 22:4

Well, you can get statistics from everything, but that is definitely different from commercializing something. Perhaps impossible to avoid…In some cases, it seems, unfortunate.

Easter makes me ill. My church going kids will be helping at the local candy and egg search party. They are dressing up as chickens and rabbits. Christmas also bugs me. At least they know what it is supposed to be about.

I’m not buying the 50.8% church attendance. Maybe that’s among Christians, not the gen pop:
All I can remember of easter from when I was a kid were hard boiled eggs, jelly beans and chocolate bunnies.

Most of our symbols of Easter come from the Babylonian rituals. Samiramis came to Earth in an orb (the egg). The rabbit has long been the symbol of being fruitful and bringing forth offspring (the easter bunny). And the pagan ritual of young girls wearing white and they put bonnets on the babies in Babylon(the Easter bonnet).
There was also a ceremony held at sunrise in Babylon ( sunrise services).

Glad to hear it as (Easter) was derived from Ishtar. A rose by any other name is a better rose.
