My dad used to take me down to Darby every Saturday to the 5 & 10 store or the Kiddie City where I could buy a pack of baseball cards or some toy soldiers. We would take the trolley from Darby to 69th Street at Christmas time to see Santa Claus. My brother and mother both worked at the Wellworth Store on Main Street in Darby. Those days are long gone.
Darby is now a lawless hell hole where blacks beat each other with baseball bats and shoot each other on a daily basis. This was the fourth shooting in the last five days in Darby. The politicians running Darby are corrupt, ignorant, and dysfunctional. The Borough is bankrupt. They can’t afford to pay the police. Now you know why I desperately have been trying to get my mother to move out of Collingdale, as it is two miles from this shithole ghetto of murderers and scum. Within ten years Collingdale will be experiencing the same environment as Darby.

DARBY BOROUGH., Pa. (WPVI) —
Police say a large fight ended with gunfire and a stray bullet flying into a home in Darby Borough, Delaware County.
Around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, police were called for the report of a shooting near North 3rd Street and Greenway Avenue.
Police tell Action News that there was a fight between several males and females and some involved were using baseball bats.
At some point, a man with a gun opens fire.
Fortunately nobody was hit or wounded but a bullet went through the window of a nearby home.
Police took at least four people into custody.
The incident is under investigation.
Police say this was the fourth shooting in the last five days.
Extra patrols were already on duty but more will be out starting Sunday.

My condolences to you in dealing with your Mom on the matter of moving. It is almost impossible to dislodge an elderly person who has lived in the same place for many decades. I have known so many extremely elderly folks stranded in hellpit neighborhoods because they just could not endure another move, or so they thought.
I’m trying to retain my flexibility as I age so I can meet whatever circumstances come.
One of the problems your Mom might be having with moving is that, because of its proximity to an extremely undesirable area, her place may have degraded steeply in value relative to comparable places in better areas, and she would have to accept a steep step down in comfort and amenity to make an even trade into another place. It would be a good idea to start scouting out places that she could purchase with what she is likely to get for the place she has, and see if, even if she has to accept a substantial loss of space, the new place might still be a lot nicer and more attractive, and be a lot more convenient and comfortable. Try to get her to see how much easier it would be to maintain a much smaller space, and how much further her monthly income would go in a place with smaller utility bills.
Good luck, though. I know how stubborn old folks can be. My mother would never ever agree to ditch the oversized, crumbling house that was eating her up alive with soaring taxes and utility bills.
If the sale doesn’t fall through, she’ll be in a nice apartment on June 1.
To bad the police are profiling AA’s per M Obama. Just leave them alone to celebrate their culture

As I have said, I do not excuse cops for what they do. But I do understand human nature, and working around the filth of humanity for years changes a person, and not for the better. I challenge any white person to go work in a black slum, dealing with crack whores, addicts, dealers, and low-lifes of every kind, for a few years and not become jaded. It is not possible. They should chose another kind of work.
