Gawd, all you have to do when you want the 2nd seat the “manspreader” is consuming, just say EXCUSE ME, and he’ll comply, if grudgingly. I have never had a problem getting anyone of any race, sex, or description, to give up the 2nd seat they were using- no need to shoot people, for Chrissakes. Except crazy people- you know, the folks you see cursing to themselves and who haven’t had a bath for 6 months -best give them as much room as possible.
I once boarded a train where one huge, fat guy was consuming THREE seats- he was sprawled across a double, and had his foot propped up on the single seat beside it. The train was filling up, and I said, excuse me, but I need that seat, and he says, do i HAVE to? Well, say I, if you want 3 seats, pay 3 fares.
At least we’re not that shithole country known as India.

A 14-year-old boy took the suspicious bird to his local police station, after discovering it had a mysterious note attached to it. The message was written in Urdu and listed a Pakistani phone number. It seems no one tried to call the number to see if someone was missing their pet, instead, THEY ARRESTED THE BIRD
Indian authorities were all over the fowl case. Said Superintendent Rakesh Kaushal:
“Nothing adverse has been found, but we have KEPT THE BIRD IN OUR CUSTODY. This is a rare instance of a bird from Pakistan being spotted here. We have caught a few spies here. The area is sensitive, given its proximity to Jammu, where infiltration is quite common.”

Austun Blagg, a high school senior from Oklahoma, was banned from walking across the stage in front of family and friends.
Why? Because he wore sneakers, and that’s against school policy.
HOWEVER …. Austun was involved in a serious accident …. which included a brain injury ……. and several broken toes …… and, so, sneakers are the ONLY kind of shoe he could wear.
The school was aware of Blagg’s injury, but still insisted on enforcing these rules. When asked for comment, the principal of the Oklahoma high school simply sent over a copy of the dress code.

I see stories like this which are NOT the exception, and the roller coaster is going downhill at 100mph …. as in, we are fucked as a country when common sense and compassion take a back seat to “rules are rules”.
