Is this some kind of sick joke? Uncle Willy moved to the suburbs to get away from these foul characters.

Love Roadrunners….they look like little crested Velociraptors.

I love Roadrunners too. We used to see all them all the time dashing around. Our Dalmatian loved to chase them. Like the Coyote she never caught one. They disappeared from these parts some time ago. Don’t see armadillos mashed on the roadside near as much as we used too. A little further west you still see road runners and mashed armadillos all over the place.

Don’t know why they left. Nothing much has changed here in BFE Texas and all the other critters are still around even the bees. There seems to still be plenty of the ones that are a pain in the ass. Why the Roadrunners and Armadillos and not the Cottonmouths or Copperheads? Oh yeah……must be climate change.

Bruce, driving on the Bastrop Hwy back in ’77, you always knew miles away that there was a dead skunk up ahead. I may have seen a dead armadillo, not sure now. We saw a lot of dead deer on the road to Austin just before Fredericksburg back in ’06. I give you the years in case they are gone forever.

I have never seen a real roadrunner….too cool. Willey coyote moved to KY in the late seventies during the big freeze when the rivers were frozen over. We all wish they had stayed out west where they belong. One thing coyotes do well is to disappear yappy little drop-kick dogs.
