QUOTE OF THE DAY

“For the great and powerful of this world, there are only two places in which their courage fails them, of which they are afraid deep down in their souls, from which they shy away. These are the manger and the cross. Here the rich come to nothing, because God is with the poor and hungry, but the rich and satisfied he sends away empty. Before God in lowliness, the powerful come to naught; they have no privilege, no prospects; they are judged.”

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, From Prison, Dec 1943

“The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.”

Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1:21

That is how Bonhoeffer lived his life. He sacrificed everything and never compromised. The church in Gemany today is dead because there were very few like Bonhoeffer.

“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil.
Not to speak is to speak.
Not to act is to act”.

– Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Exterminated by Nazi’s 3 weeks before the wars end.
