DID YOU EXCHANGE A WALK ON PART IN THE WAR FOR A LEAD ROLE IN A CAGE?

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Some of the best stuff ever.

My father is mad as hell at the world and would fit in real well here on TBP. I suggested he listen to 70’s music since there is a ton of anti establishment, anti war and anti government based music during that time. Oh well, it’s just not his genre.

Dogs (Animals, Floyd, 1977).

You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need.
You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you’re on the street,
You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed.
And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight,
You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking.

..Priceless..
