Question of the Day, Sep 9

I joined a local entrepreneur group on Meetup the other day, always good to meet other self-employed folks, it’s where I get a lot of my business. Anyway, last night I get an email containing this message…“Hi-I have decided to make this group a women’s entrepreneur meetup. If you are a female please rejoin the group and upload a picture of yourself.”

There are myriads of these woman only groups out there in networking world, and of course, no men only groups that I know of, as that would be sexist. Is it smart to alienate half your potential customer base? Am I wrong to be pissed off about this, I wouldn’t have minded nearly so much if this didn’t happen AFTER it started. I’d love to hear from women on this.

Hi Mike,
Its time to make the “Transgender” movement work for you. Get a wig, a dress and makeup.

Send them a picture of you standing in front of Brown Univ. with a tampon up your ass … and a note, stating you identify as a female. You should be good to go.

You mean an operation getting Small Business Administration “loans” of $100,000 per year they don’t repay. When I see such a business, I don’t use their service, or eat their food or buy their crap; don’t support Retail Communism. Every radio or TV station and newspaper here is now owned and run by Blacks; Blacks, Muslims and leftist women have degrees from the local Black college and own most of the small franchise businesses. Straight White men have to swim upstream to overcome the Affirmative Action rapids. Payback is going to be hell.

Yes, use the Transgender policy to your advantage….you currently identify “female,” therefore you should not have to resign from this group! But, if forced to exit the group, this would result in a traumatic emotional event, that would cause you to loose time in the office, and therefore, your business would suffer greatly. As a result, you may have to file for chapter 11…..and it would all be “their” fault!!!

Their group will fail, laugh and move on.

Of course when they fail they will blame the patriarchy, instead of asinine business practices.

Can you send an e-mail to the same group, thanking the leader for taking a stand for women, because you have been thinking for quite some time that a male-only entrepreneur group would be a good thing too, and then invite all the guys to join you?

Do you really want to be in a group run by someone that stupid anyway?

The advice I give the kids who work on the farm for future use is that if they ever have any problem with any organization, hierarchy, bureaucracy or employer is to respond with, “My attorney wants to know if this is because of my gender identity issue.” and leave it at that.

One kid who attends a University in the Midwest missed an exam and was told he couldn’t reschedule so he used that line verbatim and the professor gave him a pass without asking another question. He has become somewhat of a star for catfishing the administration and they give him a wide berth.

The problem is that people are playing Twister with reality and sooner or later they can no longer maintain their equilibrium.

I would continue to contribute if it is worth your time and effort and act as if they never mentioned it. If they do, please feel free to use the example I’ve outlined above and let us know how it works out.

I tell people I have to vote for Trump because he’s a man. I have to cancel out someone who wants to vote for Hillary because she’s a woman.

Since you asked for a woman’s response, here’s mine: through my life (I’m middle-aged) I have consistently refused, and will continue to refuse, to have anything to do with these segregated groups. I neither attend their meetings nor support them, as I consider them demeaning, divisive, and sexist. That is all.

Mike, You should have had the balls to call a male only business meeting and made sure the gals got a good look at the exclusive invite. Turn about is fair play.

Ten bucks says they would have had a sexist meltdown at which time you could have reposted the women’s only invite.

Let the free market sort it out. If they can generate more profit by limiting their market access in this way, then more power to em. But my guess is it wont lead to more profit. Which means this behavior will be self-selected out of the marketplace.

Sounds like a great opportunity to start “self-identifying”. I’d get really fucking indignant and start bitching almost incoherently about discrimination and whatnot. After all, you’re just a chick with a dick and you don’t need their hate!

Start your own group. That is what I did. Easy to do. Call all the men, and women, in the old group, and leave the harpies out of it.

Start a male-only group, but only after you email back and tell her that she’s a self-centered Feminazi.
Being female and owning my own business in years past, I would have avoided a female-only group like the one you mention. But then, I wouldn’t get involved with an online meetup group in the first place. lol

In the workplace, I have generally found that women who were motivated to ‘climb the ladder’ were conniving and manipulative, deceptive and difficult. I’ve always preferred to work with men.
