The federal government does not have the constitutional authority to administer elections, only to set the date. The Obama regime’s designation of elections as “critical infrastructure” seems to have no function other than to put in place a way to prevent voters from overthrowing an entrenched establishment, as the establishment fears the voters did when they elected Trump president.
The disturbing question is: Why do it now after Trump’s election? Could there be a plot to rescind Trump’s election on the basis of the ongoing lies that Trump was elected not by the voters but by Russian interference? Federalization can be used to remove the states from the picture and prevent the states from challenging an establishment coup against the voters.
US elections are decentralized in the hands of the states. There is no national network that would make hacking possible. The Department of Homeland Security can make suggestions to the states for improving the security of elections without declaring federal authority over the elections as “critical infrastructure.”
This is a disturbing development for which explanation and reason are lacking. Trump, if inaugurated, can overturn it or use it to ensure his reelection. Moreover, this last minute act of Obama is based on nothing but the false allegations of Russian interference. Despite the total absence of any evidence, the Obama regime continues to insist that the election was tainted by Russian interference, and the presstitutes repeat the lie as if it is true. For a media that ridicules “conspiracy theories,” it is certainly hypocritical for the presstitutes to be hyping the Russian hacking conspiracy.
What is the point of this lie to which the Obama regime and the presstitute media are committed? Is it merely to throw mud at Trump? Or is it to lay the foundation for a coup?

By making this choice, has Trump set himself up for removal?
If the fascist left desires a war, then go ahead and try to rescind the election. Go ahead. Do it, asshole. Plowshares will be beat into swords, and pruning hooks into spears. I guarantee you that your loss after attempting such will be far greater than your loss at the ballot box. Go for it.
Swords and spears will do really great against the tools of modern warfare that you paid for with your fiat currency and the ensuing Inflation arising from it that paid for it all. The American public, it can be truly said, paid for its own enslavement. That’s what ignorance and lack of attention gets you.

I was just piling onto your metaphor.
I’m no longer worried about their trying to stop Trump from taking office. That ship has sailed. I’m of mixed mind on federalizing elections. On the one hand I don’t trust congress (this one or future ones). On the other hand, if we could achieve: photo ID, paper ballot requirement (eliminate touchscreen voting), implement some way that non-citizens can’t be registered to vote (via “Motor Voter”), those would be good things. Congress could probably arm-twist the states with the ol’ “no highway money for you” method. I worry about a future congress using the same system to make it easier for non-citizens to vote, BUT it’s not like Republicans acting “honorably” now would shame demonrats from acting dishonorably later.
When the people can no longer achieve legitimate reform at the ballot box, that leaves only one box left.
It appears to me that Pence was chosen to gain the evangelical/ israel first/ neocon vote. These are the GoP voters I have commonly referred to as the “dumbest motherfuckers on the planet,” since they absorb everything the wing nut talk radio archipeligo and their corrupt, money grubbing pastors like John Hagee spew. It’s similar to Reagan choosing HW as his veep; sound electorally, not so sound from a policy or ideology standpoint.

If Oreo thinks DHS can take over the election process as critical infrastructure and monkey wrench things, that is a COUP. WE will have to get shitty on this one.
If the USSC goes along with it he can, that’s why supporting Trump and his Justice nominations are so very, very important.
Probably they would federalize the electoral college and continue to let the plebes continue to think their vote counts
