Sen. Rand Paul, the former Republican presidential candidate and vocal champion of civil liberties, has received allegations that the Obama administration sought intercepted intelligence from the National Security Agency on him and other members of Congress and has asked President Donald Trump to conduct a formal investigation, Circa has learned.
Paul quietly asked for the probe nearly a month ago in a letter to Trump that was obtained by Circa.
“An anonymous source recently alleged to me that my name, as well as the names of other Members of Congress, were unmasked, queried or both, in intelligence reports of intercepts during the prior administration,” Paul wrote Trump in a letter dated April 10.
“In light of the revelations that the names of persons associated with the Trump campaign were unmasked, I believe the allegations that myself and other elected members of the legislative branch may have also been unmasked or caught in intelligence gathering warrants investigation.“

The emergence of the letter, which also was copied to White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and senior Trump adviser Steve Bannon, comes after Circa recently reported that members of Congress and their staffs have been unmasked in NSA intelligence reports as frequently as once a month since President Obama loosened privacy protections back in 2011.

Paul’s letter offered no further detail on the source of the allegations of any specific incident or intercepts.
A source in the intelligence community told Circa on Friday that they were unaware of any unmaskings of NSA intercepts that occurred in 2016 when Paul was running for president that would have required a notification to Congress. The source did not know about prior years.
Usually if the intelligence community reveals the identity of a lawmaker in an NSA intercept, Congress gets what is known as a Gates notification.
Paul has been a critic of the government use of NSA intercepts to spy on Americans and championed other civil liberty causes, most famously conducting a 13-hour filllibuster in 2013 on the Senate floor to raise concerns that U.S. millitary could use drones to strike U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.
Paul is right. It’s good he is speaking out. Put these bastards away!
“Put away” means a different job, often in a different agency, a promotion, or full retirement.
With punishment like that I’m sure they are all terrified.
Fast and Furious, IRS, NSA, Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, Black Panther voter intimidation, secret meetings at the airport, gun running to Al Queda, banker gangsters… yup, “put away”, all of them.
My sentiments exactly, sir! Nothing to see here, folks. Rand will ramble but nothing will be done. Anyone expecting a Nixonesque ending for Bill or Hilary, Obama, Susan Rice, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch or James Comey, is in for a rude awakening. Times have changed. This isn’t 1974 and the United States is not even close to being the same country. The rule of law is dead. Non-existent. Kaput. The same can be said for political accountability. Until people are publicly arrested, handcuffed and led off to jail (preferably at a live event, on national television), this lawlessness will not only continue but get worse and ever more “in your face” obvious.
Whenever I read an article like the one about Rand Paul being spied on, and calls for arrest, jail or even a whisper of kinds of punishment for such treasonous activity, I think of that evil Lois Lerner and how she completely laughed in the face of Congress about her criminal behavior. I can still see her with that smug look, raising her right hand to swear to tell the truth and then using her left hand to flip a United States congressional committee, and more importantly, the American people, “the bird.” Refusing to answer any questions and daring them, or anyone else, to do something about it. Everyone knew she was guilty. SHE KNEW she was guilty. How was she punished? By walking away, unscathed, and retiring to collect her forever, high five figure retirement, and sweet health care package. I remember Rand Paul was furious. Trey Gowdy was beside himself. They were Appalled. Disgusted. Irate. Blah blah blah. Lois Lerner was a small time, unelected bureaucrat. She is also old news. Never to be heard from again. She wakes up every day laughing and enjoying the fruits of her “labor.” What makes Rand Paul or anyone else think a two term, affirmative action, media darling, ex president like Barack Obama or a career Criminal, Democratic Presidential nominee, former FLOTUS, former United States Senator and ex Secretary of State like Hilary Clinton ever being held accountable for any wrong doing? It’s laughable and its not going to happen. The rule of law is dead. The Constitutional Republic is finished. The great experiment has failed. Welcome to the early stages of the new Roman Empire, my friends.
Seems to me the primary purpose of the NSA is to get the goods on judges & political enemies. How else could they “flip” John Roberts on Obamacare in 2012?

During Obummers second reign I asked an elderly family member, how can a president that doesn’t control the House get any and everything he wanted from obummercare to illegal exec orders. He said son Obummer compromised them all and has blackmail on each. They are all just tying to stay in power because they know the republic is over and just want to be in a power position when it falls so they get rich and secure their family in the bunker when the revolution comes. If they get outed before they will be minced meat quickly as the public will want any and all to pay for allowwing the destruction. Now we start to get facts obummer used illegal means by mandated inter agency spying even on congress. That Lynch was going to crush any Hitlery investigation and assure her freedom. These people need to learn who is in charge and be reminded of history that it never ends well for those corrupt at the top. Now we see trump is even being fought from his own party. The republicans are corrupt big time and in cahoots with demoncrats so they can rally their steeple bases and get re-elected. We all need to defund them and crash the system. Stop spending and ask for extension on tax returns. Starve the money flow watch the worms wiggle. This is not going to end well and makes Romes decline and fall look like a 2 year olds boo boo on the knee……..
