Teenage pregnancy is in continual decline in the United States. As preliminary data released in a new report by the National Centre for Health Statistics on Friday reveals, the birth rate of mothers in the 15-19 age group dropped to a record low of 20.3, amounting to 209,480 births in 2016. Compared to 2015, this is a decrease of almost 9% and even 62% when compared to 1996.
Conversely, birth rates of women aged 40-44 are on the rise: While it stood at 6.8 in 1996, the provisional birth rate for this age group is 11.4 births per 1,000 women in 2016, which accounts for an increase of 4% compared to the previous year.
The stat by itself doesn’t mean much without looking at the reasons for it.
Birth Control. They are going on it in middle school and high school.
Many girls are going on it specifically to avoid the hormonal fluctuations of periods even if they aren’t sexually active.
They’re too busy trying to decide if they have a gender and if so which one is it.
It also needs to be broken down by race,ethnicity,and martial status.
The new vaccines cause sterility?
Women are given affirmative action jobs, so probably the girls are working or on the way to their career, and there are not many guys with good jobs to get them pregnant and support them. The young men are finding the young girls are not worth settling down with, dont trust them to stay together, so are being careful to not impregnate. This has a lot to do with it.
