I wonder how many of the Republicans that voted for the bill did so only because they were assured McCain would vote against it and kill it but still wanted to look good to their voters.
That sort of thing was the norm back when they knew it would be vetoed by Obama and McCain is the perfect fall guy now with no political penalty to pay since he is dying and not going to run again anyway.
