Should we require all politicians to pass a civics exam before being put on the ballot?

How about simply requiring them to recite – without a teleprompter – the DOI, Articles of the CONstitution and BOR . . . BEFORE unequivocally swearing – PUBLICLY – to uphold said and publish a BOND of personal liability to perform accordingly?

Speaking of civics, more Awan brothers crookedness.I hope to hell Sessions gets all over this as it has the potential to destroy the Democratic party. These treasonous idiots were trading access and national security for money and political correctness.

A simple IQ test should be sufficient. Two would fail. The third was smart enough to be malevolent.

I still haven’t decided if he was trolling/being an ahole or can he really be that stupid?
If he was serious,it puts to bed that old saying about the only stupid question is the one you don’t ask.

Congessman Johnson immediately followed the Guam quip with the following:
“And also things like the environment, the sensitive areas of the environment, coral reefs and those kinds of things, and I know that lots of people don’t like to think about that but … you know, we don’t think about global warming either, and now we do have to think about it, and so I’m concerned from an environmental standpoint whether or not Guam is the best place to do this relocation. but it’s actually the only place, is that correct?”

He was clearly questioning the sustainability of adding 25,000 people to the island’s population. The fact that you missed this was humor reveals more about your intellect than his, lol.

Rabbit………..you are a mental dork.

Johnson’s question about Guam tipping over was real and had nothing to do with ‘sustainability’ of the population of Guam.

The fact that you missed this is proof of your stupidity.

kokoda, “you are a mental dork”, now how does one argue with an intelligent comment like that? (what are you, in 8th grade? lol). But level with me please, did you listen to the whole hearing, or just the few seconds clip that reinforced your preconceived notions and appeared to support your agenda?

Red, sadly I think that Sessions is a swamp creature and will do absolutely nothing or do such a poor job of prosecution he will lose. Hope I am wrong but its beginning to look as if America is being sold out by the Trump Administration.

Cliffie,
I think you’re wrong on both counts. They’ve both pissed me off but I believe that they are going to try and drain the swamp.
Remember the old saying,”It’s hard to remember that your objective is to drain the swamp when you’re up to your ass in alligators.”
Sessions screwed up when he got aggressive on both forfeiture and not respecting state laws regarding pot.Trump’s base contains a large # of libertarians, though most don’t call themselves that.
As to the Awans,I believe you will see staffers being charged and probably some House members resigning to spend time w/family or having pressing health care problems.Possibly a Republican might be in the mix also, don’t remember where I saw it but probably Daily Caller since they’ve been out front on this story.

TPTB would have a way around any rule they make. Citizens allowed to vote should have to pass a Civics Test, an IQ Test and be Bonded.

rhs jr, sounds like you’re presuming you would pass all three requirements. Are you cool with remaining a taxpaying, but disenfranchised, citizen in the event you fail one of the three?

Which of these three should still be qualified to vote on critical political issues : A moron, a degenerate or a crook?

And people such as this are ru(i)nning the Government????

We need a bit more screening of candidates for Federal office (of all levels).
