Bad enough that we are required by law to present our “papers” – government-issued ID cards, egregiously mislabelled as driver’s licenses – whenever a government bullyboy so demands. Just as in the former East Germany, just as in the former Soviet Union – and in another place whose name it’s hardly necessary to mention.

But in those places – in those times – tyranny was limited somewhat by technology.

In our time, the technology available to tyranny is almost limitless – and the laws which used to at least somewhat protect us have become the means by which technology tyrannizes us.

Corporations, which give a damn about our rights as much as Ted Bundy cared about his victims, provide the technology – and exploit the law – to profit from tyranny.

Government, in a kind of twisted quid pro quo, enacts the laws – and uses the technology created by corporations to intrude ever deeper into our lives.

Think of the loathsome body scanners we must pass through at airports.

Think of the Mobile Biometric Driver’s License.

You haven’t heard?

It is the brainchild – and hoped-for profit center – of something called the MorphoTrust – which is one of those corporations that doesn’t give a damn about our rights if there’s a buck to be made from eviscerating them. Morpho – as in morphology – wants to use your smartphone and facial recognition technology it developed to convert your cell phone into a mobile, scannable and downloadable version of your “papers.”

In theory – and in technological fact – a cop would not even need to pull you over to examine your “papers.” He could simply access your phone. Without you even necessarily knowing.

And not just your “papers,” either.

Whatever else you’ve got on your phone. Texts, images, emails and Internet searches. It’s the electronic version of a free-for-all rifling of our persons and effects without our persons or effects even being aware it’s happening.

They do this already, in a way, via Automated License Plate Readers (APLRs). A cop drives around, the ALPR scans every plate within its range and records, cross-references and takes general note of who is where and when. Ostensibly, it’s to help find Bad Guys – car thieves and such. In fact, it’s a way for the government to monitor and record the movements and whereabouts of vast numbers of people who’ve done nothing criminal or even suspicious – two things that were once the necessary legal prerequisites for initiating investigations but no longer.

The Mobile Biometric Driver’s License takes it up a notch, given how much personal data could be mined from our phones.

And we won’t be given the option to opt out.

The precedent for this business goes back to the aftermath of the 911 attacks. Corporate friends of Michael Chertoff (co-author a priori of the USA Patriot Act and director of the Homeland Security Department it birthed) used the pretext of “security” to create an opportunity for profit.

Chertoff – via his Chertoff Group – pushed for body scanners at airports. To Keep Us Safe. As it happened, and just by coincidence, one of the Chertoff Group’s clients happened to be Rapiscan, the manufacturer of the body scanners. (See Washington Post account of this sordid business here.)

Pass a law, make a buck.

Rape the Bill of Rights along the way.

MorphoTrust is pushing for effectively the same thing: A legal requirement that people accept biometric/facial scan driver’s licenses embedded in their cell phones – the app and other necessaries provided by MorphoTrust.

Which will make a tidy profit off the involuntary transaction.

That is a key element, the thing which makes the MorphoTrust, Rapiscan and other such corporations evil.

It’s not too strong a word.

The use of force against peaceful people is the very essence of evil. Unfortunately, it has also become the way “business” is done in the metastatic stage of America’s decline into overt tyranny.

The word is in air quotes to mock the abuse of what used to be decent plain language.

Business – properly defined – is the free exchange of value for value. You are free to buy – or not. If force enters into the transaction then the exchange is not free. If the buyer is under duress – if he is told he must buy the product or service or else – then he stands in relation to the seller very much in the same position as the victim of a mugging in relation to the person mugging him.

This is bad enough when mere money is being extracted from the victim. Electric car crony capitalists such as Elon Musk, for instance.

But when degradation of our rights is a part of the transaction it becomes the apotheosis of loathsomeness. Like being made to dig the ditch that will soon contain your bullet-riddled body.

MorphoTrust – in partnership (surprise) with the Department of Homeland Security – has got the Iowa Department of Transportation to launch a “pilot” program. Similar programs are in process in other states, including North Carolina, Georgia and Arizona. The company was paid $1.47 million by the Amt der Heimat Sicherheitsdeinst (that’s Department of Homeland Security in its proper German) to develop the Mobile Biometric Driver’s Licenses.

These are the first steps toward general implementation, a requirement that people submit to being biometrically ear-tagged, like cattle, in order to be allowed to function in this not merely increasingly but actually Orwellian society.

They’ve got us by the short hairs.

Because who can function without their “papers” – paper or electronic – in this society? You cannot (legally) drive a car, it is impossible to open a bank account or obtain employment (other than in the underground economy) without “papers.”

Having accepted that, it is hard to imagine how this will be resisted. It will be touted – as all technological tyranny is touted – as being for Our Safety. And a convenience. It will make things so much easier.

For whom, is never asked.

Some states already fingerprint people as a requirement for them to obtain the driver’s license/”papers” they have to have in order to be other than an economically Untouchable.

Scanning their faces and forcing them to carry around a portable and very smart ear tag is the logical next step.

Soon, you may have as much choice about whether to have a cell phone as you do about having to carry your “papers” with you everywhere you go.

Both will become one and the same thing.

With MorphoTrust profiting handsomely from the deal.

You must be kidding.

1. In my post I practically BEGGED people to not let devolve into a pro/anti Jew shitfest.

2. I submitted the article in large part because of the shitstorm you started.

3. I quoted Mark Twain who, if you read his linked speech, is pro Jewish.

4. The question asks why/how they survived millennia of persecution. There is absolutely NOTHING controversial, overt or hidden. It is a perfectly legitimate question.

Therefore, please, oh please tell us you’re just kidding!!

There is really no difference between this and the court ordered ankle monitors criminal defendants often must wear as a condition for pre- trial release.

The license plate scanners have little to do with stolen cars and everything to do with establishing a pretext to stop a motorist. It can be for the car being registered to a person whose license has been suspended ( often for failing to pay a prior traffic offense) to the registration being expired etc. Once stopped the cop has a vast repertoire of excuses to search the vehicle and its occupants. Refuse and he can summon a dog to provide the probable cause for the search.

While I escape police scrutiny because of my age, appearance and type of vehicle, many do not.

i drive an old truck and a newer sports car 5k/miles year each, and i haven’t been pulled over but once in the last quarter century, and that was a speed trap. of course, i go just under the limit, and i’ve got white hair privilege!

There was a story about an assistant state attny general being stopped in Florida by a state copfuk because he ran her license and discovered she had never been stopped. That was his Probable Cause.

Up here in Canuckistan the license plate scanners are doing exactly that.
A neighbor down the road got stopped at 10PM on a lonely road while going to buy smokes, and the police did a 360 and pulled him over…… for what you ask?
His driver’s license expired the day before…….
Vehicle search and impoundment and a slew of fines to go on top of it.

I remember the goat humper terrorist cell member in Minnesota, Zaccarias Mo-somethingorother. He had the whole 9/11 thing on his laptop but the crackpots in courts and the DOJ said we had no right to look at it. Neither did various branches of government have the right to tell each other if they knew of an active threat. But they can seize f’ing everything, violating our 4th amendment rights at will where our smartphones are concerned. Remember today’s phone has more capability than a 2000 model laptop dreamed of. It holds even more personal, therefore private personal stuff.
If the Prog fools had their way, a terrorist would be allowed to build a nuclear bomb in a “safe space” like an abortion clinic as part of a live streamed reality show and it would not be admissible evidence or cause for a search warrant. But you and your phone? Fugeddaboudit.
Use the fingerprint passcode and tell ’em to perform that impossible act.

I never had to present any papers in East Germany or Soviet Union (with exception of the border area, of course). Compared to the Germany of today, both have been free and democratic countries.
In Germany, we have allmost no freedom of speech. Police will not arrest you, but you will get a lot of trouble and bad consequences if you will say something wrong. In the USA, you have 20 % of the world`s prison population.
What happened to the Western countries?

(A) The EM field INSIDE a continuous conductor (most metals) is ZERO. EM probes (radio waves etc.) CANNOT scan inside a continuous conductor. Therefore,
get a metal box (complete, overlapping seams) and keep your cellphone in it when driving.
Cops will not be able to scan inside it to read anything. You don’t have to carry it with you at all times (say, when driving) but if you must then get a metal box (candy tin, ammo can, Christmas cookie tin, flour tin, whatever) big enough to hold your phone while driving and keep it in there. Your messages (if any) will update from the nearest cell tower the next time you take it out of the tin. Bonus: GPS cannot give your position away, and telemarketers and bill collectors cannot distract you while you’re driving.
(B) Fingerprint passcodes are a bad idea. The cops can take your fingerprints without your permission and use them to open your phone. But then, keeping anything more confidential that your phone # (to THAT phone) on your phone is a bad idea.
The cops cannot force you to unlock your laptop, your phone or your door (5th Amendment, current interpretation). If your passcode or security code is alphanumeric, they’re out of luck. If it’s your fingerprint, YOU’RE out of luck.
OR; borrow a friend, neighbor or passed-out drunk and fingerprint THEM. Use the transparency (and keep it somewhere quiet) to set up YOUR phone. Inconvenience; you will need the transparency to unlock your phone anytime you need to. Security: the police cannot guess WHOSE fingerprint you are using. You may need to keep several nearby or have a GOOD hiding place.

Eric- WOW – just have to post a ‘rant’ i put up on private board earlier today – BEFORE reading your article. Chuckling – exact same sentiments.

Freedom of Speech – Different libel laws for ‘accredited journalists’ vs those exercising freedom of the press on the Internet with blogs, writings, etc.

Freedom of Assembly – try driving without a license, insurance, tags, safety inspection, pollution controls inspection …. . Empty freedom unless one can drive. Try assembling without being tracked, photographed, GIS’d by at least one government agency. Freedom to Assemble is empty without the RIGHT to Anonymously Assemble (ditto on Free Speech -one ruling (on speech) that SCOTUS actually got right.)

Right to Have and Bear Arms – relinquish all your firearms when you enter ANY state or federal building.
Obvious impairments are far too numerous to enumerate.

So far, we don’t have to quarter soldiers – to my knowledge.

Warrantless Searches – Airport Metal Detectors (also violates First – freedom of assembly), Strip Searches, Wanding, Pat Downs – enter ALL federal buildings- ditto – Enter any LARGE COUNTY COURTHOUSE – ditto. Ever have a cop demand you identify yourself (violates secure in your person, freedom of assembly) – always a stark reminder of movies about WWII where one of the PRIME violations, always portrayed, were the gestapo demanding ‘your papers’. Not acceptable to us growing up- we submit like sheeple today.

Warrantless – FISA court no need for warrant to identify, search, unmask if ‘communicating with “foreign interests” – EVERY SINGLE PERSON EVER MAKING A CELL PHONE CALL OR USING E-MAIL HAS HAD THIS WARRANTLESS SEARCH PERFORMED ON THEM.

Bills of Attainder – being imprisoned, without indictment, without access to attourney, without trial … forever … under the ‘Patriot Act’ provisions – just accuse someone of terrorism. Only muslims ? Hardly – that abuse is aimed at ANY that the government wishes to silence and can be done with NO PRESENTATION OF EVIDENCE, NO RIGHT TO COUNSEL, NO RIGHT TO SPEEDY TRIAL, ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO PUBLIC TRIAL. Using drones against US CITIZENS.

V again … nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb … Acquitted on State Charges – try ’em agin under some Federal Statue – Double Jeopardy (and triple,quadruple, quintuple) ROUTINELY happens – for the same offense. Book ’em on multiple charges for the same offense – justified by looking at ‘various aspects’ of the same offense – it broke multiple laws, so try them on all charges … FOR THE SAME OFFENSE.

V again … Can’t be forced to testify against self … Really ? – Well, just grant ’em immunity. Funny, I don’t see that loophole or exemption in the amendment at all.

V another … nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law … Hmmm …. accused of various and sundry … GOVERNMENT ASSET SEIZURES CIVIL AND CRIMINAL – without trial, even without charges, certainly on merely being charged …
BILLIONS SEIZED EVERY YEAR- by local, state, AND federal.

V again … nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. …
… LOSS OF ALL PROPERTY RIGHTS has already happened – it is infamously solidified in the KELO decision.

VI – right to speedy trial – STAYING IN JAIL FOR 1-2 years, with NO TRIAL, NO CONVICTION – …In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, … Changes of VENUE BY PROSECUTORS routinely granted to where the crime was NOT committed …

VII – In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law. Hmmm … nothing speedily comes to mind other than COURT COSTS have become so prohibitive that exercising this right has become almost meaningless except for the most egregious cases … and where deep pockets (such as insurance companies) are involved. Good luck on fighting an insurance company, in court – unless you have been seriously injured, and have a bucketload of money to fight them.

Article the tenth [Amendment VIII]

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Does this one REALLY need any documentation ? LAUGHABLY ignored by so many laws (IRS penalties, anyone- wayyyyyyy excessive) … violate ILLEGAL exective branch regulations … jaywalk, minor traffic offenses (hundreds of dollars), BAIL – fuhgetaboutit unless you’ve got a sh*tload of money, or a paid for house – excessive in the extreme.

Article the eleventh [Amendment IX] The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. VIOLATED ROUTINELY – gay wedding cake anybody ? – denied First Amendment protections to the baker.
And that is just one that makes the news.

X. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Well, that one was blown out of the water by LINCOLN – and violations of it continue to this day. Federal interference in voting rights laws of numerous states ring a bell.

So – yeah – you are correct to get upset about this latest violation of the Constitution …. (article about house/senate bill allowing warrantless searches just passed by 99% of Congress)

BUT – You do realize that the Bill of Rights is so egregiously violated each and every day, and has been violated FOR DECADES that we effectively haven’t had any rights for a long damn time … ?
