Killing Chickens

Guest Post by The Zman

“When you strike at a king, you must kill him” is a famous expression by Ralph Waldo Emerson. We’re all familiar with it and its meaning. When you challenge authority, you better win, as authority cannot tolerate challenges. It’s why the people in charge are so ruthless in dealing with challenges to their power. They instinctively know that to do otherwise means being displaced. In all probability, they got to where they are by subverting or knocking off their predecessor.

That’s what we see going on with the Trump administration. The rules of the game, as designed by the political class, were supposed to prevent a guy like Trump from winning the Presidency. Instead, both parties would hire approved actors to put on a show, pretending to be bitter rivals. The voters would re-enact these mock battles among themselves, getting into arguments on-line and with friends. Then one candidate would “win”, pick a staff from the political class, and the party would keep going.

Trump was supposed to have his vanity run, then bow out in the primary, before he became too much of a distraction. The political class was so sure this would be the case, they never bothered to address Trump until it was too late. They thought they had it gamed out in the general election, but then those idiot voters did the wrong thing and voted for the wrong candidate. This challenge cannot stand, which is why they have been going berserk. The threat must be addressed, by any means necessary.

There’s another expression that is useful now. It is an old Chinese idiom. “Kill the chicken to scare the monkey”, which refers to making an example out of someone in order to threaten others. This was a popular aphorism during the Cultural Revolution where Chinese officials would routinely make an example of a deviationist to remind anyone else with heretical ideas that there are consequences to challenging authority. The college professor paraded around school and forced to confess to made up crimes let the other professors know who was really in charge of the school.

That’s what we are seeing with the coordinated assault on various dissident websites, like the Daily Stormer and now Stormfront. Neither of these sites are a great threat to the established order. The Stormer is a satirical site, the suppression of which proves just about every point the proprietor ever made about the ruling class. Stormfront is an old White Nationalist site that was content to mind its own business. But they both contain the word “storm” which is now a trigger word for the ruling class, so they were targeted.

What the registrars have done in both cases is steal the domain from the rightful owners, thus shuttering their sites. It’s brazen and illegal, but that’s the point. The message being sent is that the people in charge are not constrained by the law. They can do as they please. If you are a trouble maker out there, who has invested time and money in his site, you might want to watch what you say. Otherwise, a big tech company will steal your property and shut you down. That’s the message being sent with these acts.

It’s why they are picking on these two sites. Small guys operating on the fringe are easy for everyone else to dismiss. This encourages others to think, “well, they were asking for it. As long as I don’t do what they did, I should be OK.”  If they went after a bigger name or a site with deeper pockets, they create a sympathetic martyr and find themselves in court defending the indefensible. The one thing the people in charge have, or at least they think they have, is moral authority. Stormer and Stormfront are safe chickens to kill.

There is a corollary, of sorts, to that Chinese idiom. If they set out to scare the monkey, they better scare the monkey. Otherwise, they risk pissing off the monkey and the rest of the monkeys. That’s the delicate balance authorities must strike in times of crisis. There is a risk of squandering their moral authority and legitimacy. Make an example of the wrong guy and they risk a rebellion. It’s not always easy to know, as the reason a crisis exists is the rulers have lost touch with those over whom they are rule.

After the election, I made the point that Trump was a warning shot to the ruling class. They had to reform and Trump was that opening for them. If not, the next guy was not going to be as easy to deal with as Trump. That’s the lesson of history. The people challenging the old order start out hoping to work with the old order. They become radicalized or replaced by radical elements, only when the old order refuses to cooperate. The whole point of popular government is to accommodate this reality about human society.

The people who rule over us are sending a message of their own and have decided to make a few examples, to kill some chickens. The question they don’t know, what no one knows, is if it will scare the monkeys. The evidence so far is that all the ruling class has done so far is piss away their moral authority. “Attacking Nazis” rings hollow when you’re simultaneously trying to erase the Founding Fathers from the public square. It just makes the “Nazis” a useful tool for those wishing to gain the moral high ground defending speech.

For now, we just have a few dead chickens and a troop of increasing angry monkeys.

The French may have had the right idea.

But of course, revolution ALWAYS leads to the concentration of power in the hands of someone or some group that is generally worse (as even France showed).

But did the French actually come out ahead by it?

Mr Liberty, the guillotine is actually what the elite have in mind for us dirt people. If they ever get to the point where they are able to round up trouble makers and send them (us) to FEMA camps, I have seen believable reports that the planned method of execution for the ones deemed too stubborn to re-educate is the guillotine. It is relatively clean, quiet, and best of all, it leaves the body intact so the organs can be harvested and sold. There is no limit to the evil that our would-be rulers are capable.

I read a book called ” the Ruling class ” in 2008 I believe. Can’t remember the author’s name but it got my attention.Red flags all the way to Mars .I knew then we were in trouble if what this guy was saying was true.Years later we are stuck with a hostile ruling class that hates traditional Americans and they own the major Cultural institutions .The author didn’t have any solutions to this problem just a warning and he was right.

The worrisome thing is that these websites were not shutdown because of official state pressure but simply on the ‘whim’ of private companies to muzzle a point of view they found offensive.

If ‘hate speech’ was really the issue then the SPLC or even the New York Times might be legitimately shut down using the same criterion.

What this is showing is that the tech industry has established a political monopoly on speech on the internet and just as Standard Oil and railroad monopolies had to be broken up in the early 20th century so too must the new monopolists of the 21st century be broken up. Of course, the monopolists knowing from where the threat to their dominance comes from have thrown their weight behind the totalitarians in Washington.

Is not the example of industry being an arm of the government that is being used to attack criticisms of the government the definition of fascism?

Not exactly an apt analogy. Chickens dont have guns, and they don’t have the ability to sacrifice themselves to make a statement against tyranny.

All anyone needs is to be the object of a modern day auto-da-fe’ to understand what’s really going on.

There is only one threat to the existing order, powerful and dangerous as it may be and that is having people understand how the world works and to point it out to others. Especially if you can communicate effectively.

Every other depravity and degeneracy is allowed, proving that it is not our best interests or our morality that are genuine concerns, but our awareness of what those in power are up to.

The only real freedom we have in this life is deciding what to do with the finite time you are given in the specific time in which you live understanding reality as you perceive it.

The chicken slaughter will commence post haste.

It won’t end quickly! East Germany as the crown jewell of the captive Soviet empire: 1945 to 1989. Lesser totalitarian control in the rest of East and Central Europe same time frame. Russia proper 1917 t0 1991, some lessening in 80’s. The Russian Empire ( the Ukrain and the Stans and such) 1920′ s to early 90’s. The real NAZI era 1933 -45 only ended by defeat in WWII, probably would have lasted far longer if Poland was not invaded. The Cuban regime lives on since 1959 without Fidel. None of the these had a tenth of the capacity to keep tabs on the “deplorables” available to the well paid and confortable agents and “thought police” of the corporate state of today. The old axiom of military intelligence is anticipate if they have the capability then they have the intention to use it.

The French Revolution is an interesting subject to consider as a lesson for today but I think that the authors original comparison with the Cultural Revolution is much more relevant and leads to what is the should be the actual comparison, The Kampuchea Peoples Revolution. Lauded by members of the US ‘Academic/Professorial Non-Working Classes’, Brother #1 started what was hoped to be a real ‘Cultural Revolution’ where class enemies were sent to re-education centers where they would learn that work (agricultural labor) sets you free. This is what we now call the ‘Killing Fields’. We only learned the facts about what happened when the Vietnamese invaded and overthrew the Khmer Rouge and exposed what Noam Chomsky and other US intellectuals claimed was a great and heroic breakthrough in human society, to be lauded and followed by all “right” thinking people. Brother #1 was Pol Pot, year zero was declared and all that had been before was no longer. Complete cultural change, sound familiar? The US is a racist culture, whites are all racists, if you don’t support ‘us’ your a ‘nazi’, ‘rascit’ ‘white supremacist’. The Constitution is racist, misogynist, homo-phobic, trans-phobic and islamo-phobic. The only solution to this is to re-educate those whose thoughts do not comply and of course end all institutions that perpetuate ‘phobias’. That will include pretty much anyone that the new ‘Leadership’ feels is counter-revolutionary or some new vague phrase that will be used to justify mass murder in the name of “Progress” and “Equality”. If you think this is a joke, the joke is on you.

OMG, it was satire? I totally missed that in the articles AltYoBo posted non-stop for months, I guess he thought we would be smart enough to catch on.

It was the sum of all our fears of creeping Naziism in America that put our hairs on end.

Blaming Jews and spreading Jewish conspiracy theories, publicizing paeans to pulchritudinous white poon-pie and Hitler homages were alarming, I should have realized it was all in fun. Now I feel terrible.
