I watched a documentary on PBS today about the James River. I wonder if all the folks that think they are for illegal immigration, DACA and sanctuary cities/states think that the indians who agreed to let the white settlers settle on Jamestown because they did not live on the island made the right choice for themselves? Yes, they really didn’t have much choice because of the european’s steel and germs among other things, but it is interesting that the first settlement in what became the US was one where the original inhabitants freely let the newcomers in to gain a foothold. Seems like there is a lesson the be learned from their decision and that is to fight off invaders who are trying to come and take your homeland.
