In my study of the REAL Russian way of life that has been ongoing, I watched a video of the first day of school which is on Sept. 1st every year and it is done with great pomp and pageantry. The blogger’s daughter was starting the first grade so I am guessing that she is 6 or 7 years old and upon completion of her first day of school, he presented her with the gift of a smart phone.
All I can say is WTF? Smartphones are the biggest epidemic that has ever hit this planet in terms of addiction. Adults transfer their addiction to their offspring with such enthusiasm it makes me wonder why they don’t just hand these children a six pack of beer to go along with the cellphone.
Humans now refuse to let children BE children, dogs to be dogs and not proxy children/human and if you voice any opposition, you are branded a hater. We would be better off indeed if the gift of a cell phone were postponed until early teen or teens, which is bad enough if you have observed the teen addiction up close.
