I had similar experience a few weeks ago. It only occurred on TBP. Malawarebytes stopped the ad, but it kept returning every time I loaded a new article. Had to turn off notifications. My browser is Firefox. I just checked and the ads are still running and Malawarebytes is still stopping them. I tried everything I knew to remove to no avail.

What happened to the Robert Gore article from the other day? I tried to go back to it and I get a “Ooops, page not found.”
Does anyone else’s computer jump to some blond woman doing a cholesterol commercial every time they try to read an article?
Try running Malwarebytes (you can get a free version).
You’ve probably acquired a malicious adware of some kind.
