QUOTES OF THE DAY

“The very word ‘war,’ therefore, has become misleading. It would probably be accurate to say that by becoming continuous war has ceased to exist. A peace that was truly permanent would be the same as a permanent war. This— although the vast majority of Party members understand it only in a shallower sense— is the inner meaning of the Party slogan: WAR IS PEACE.”

George Orwell

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people…

This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.”

Dwight D. Eisenhower, 16 April 1953

Words of a good man of honor who knew the horrors of war and the racket Schmedely Butler described it was for politicians and businesses and owners of businesses and the bank owners . Very little if any at all really fixes or supplies the needs of the nation and its citizens .
Ron Paul shared many warnings of the path our nation was on and he was ignored as were President Eisenhower .

Eisenhower said a lot of great things, but did not follow through while in office. Typical republican.

And please don’t construe that as an endorsement of the worthless democrats.
