I’m going to go take a picture of my conservative, practical husband’s face when I tell him I think we should sink some cash into Bitcoin. Well, I’d better not do that. He may blow a gasket.

Do it! Right on, baby! So nice to see some intelligence on here today. Buy LTC and ETH also. Buy some, wait for a pullback, and buy more.

And some others: PPT, EOS, ADX, SALT, OMG, NEO, CTR, PLR, and VERI.

As did my wife. I said to her that as long as she refused to even learn about cryptos, I was going to make the decisions. Now that I am way up, she has softened just a little, tiny bit, but she still won’t learn!

How easy is it to turn bitcoin into cash (fiat currency)?

Just a matter of selling an amount of coin on an exchange like Coinbase and having it deposited into your bank.

Did you know that since fire was first used as tool by Homo erectus that technology has been on a logarithmic curve and we are right now at the knee of the curve, which is just below when shit really goes straight up? Like Bitcoin? Even bacteria can do it as do wildfires, especially the ones that turn your dollars to ashes. Slowly at first, then all at once.

So; what happens when people realize that these “digital pogs” really aren’t anything, and aren’t WORTH anything? My guess; the same thing that happened to “brick and mortar” pogs…

…Tulip bulbs, anyone?…

Hyperinflation in Bitcoin. I wonder what is next?

The thing that has kept me from investing a single dollar in bitcoin is the fact that the government could pass a regulation tomorrow making it illegal for US banks to convert $USD to or from any crypto currency. Other governments could do the same for their respective currencies. Anyone who thinks these cypto currencies somehow magically bypass the legacy financial systems are delusional.

Yup, I knew about Bitcoin way back in 2011 when you could still mine it on your PC without expensive equipment. What stopped me from ever getting involved was the doomsphere and their constant fear of Obama’s IRS, FEMA camps, and NDAA, etc. etc. I still cringe when I think of the money to be made, however hindsight is 20/20. But I learned an important lesson, that the vast majority of the doomsayers are completely full of shit, snake oil salesmen to sell you beans and gold and take your FRN’s for it. It’s great to be free of them but also it’s great to watch these supposed “patriots” simply flip sides and start selling the same doom to the liberals, who are now terrified about the “fascist” Trump and all the nefarious plans he has them.

The money power within the US is plenary to the Federal government.
They can crush this at any time they wish it.
Precedent is already set where they can tax it. Veazie Bank v. Fenno, 75 U.S. 533 (1869)
“Congress may restrain, by suitable enactments, the circulation as money of any notes (I would add bitcoin or other money substitutes) not issued under its own authority.”

Right, the gov’t will just say to the investors of $200 billion dollars to go to hell. That’ll be the day.

What the gov’t does do is trash its own “money,” but we shouldn’t worry about that because we are just plebes and deserve getting shafted every day of our lives.

Does anyone know details on Vontobel mini futures traded on the Swiss stock market? From what I’ve gathered, they’re offering a neat way to short Bitcoin.

The only reason that the cryptocurrencies are booming in the first place is that all the fiat currencies (Dollar, Euro, Yen, etc) are dying due to terminal corruption.

End the Fed.
