For 2017, total income for the program is projected to exceed cost for the year by $59 billion, and non-interest income is projected to be $27 billion less than program cost for the year. The trustees’ report estimated that the Social Security program faces a $12.5 trillion shortfall over 75 years.

Social security spending tops 1 TRILLION for the first time______(above chart)

BFD, the Pentagon lost twice that amount before 9/11 and it was announced on 9/10/2001. I don’t think it was ever found and NOBODY has been held accountable. Money is created out of thin air for everything else including Israhell who also get that much or more SO NO BIGGY.

And what could possibly go wrong…
Janet Yellen says “changes implemented since 2008 have made the system much safer and much sounder… I think we have a strong banking sector that’s well capitalized and has a lot of liquidity”… (and if bad shit happens) “hopefully, it won’t be in our lifetimes.”

No problem. All they have to do is payout with debased dollars and have BLS rig the CPI to deceive most Americans. At the true inflation rate of ~8%, the payout will be cut by 50% in nine years. And if these dollars don’t buy anything, then you can always burn them for heat as in Weimar Germany.

Steve,

Make sure your acclimation/training/meal time is done while sitting in the dark…to paraphrase an old military truism: The more you suffer in training…the less you will suffer after rounding the 4th corner…

Does the 61+ million drawing Social Security include or exclude those on Disability, drawing SSI? Anyone know?

I went and read the whole thing… it includes SSI

Great job, Maggie. I had the feeling that those numbers included a safe place to park a bunch of grifters

I know a guy at work 62. He decided to retire now. Why. So he could get his money out of it while he still could. The common man knows what is coming. And he still works up a point.

Started taking SS at 64. My wife and I actually have a surplus at the end of each month due to being debt free.
