QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The very purpose of spirituality is self-discipline. Rather than criticizing others, we should evaluate and criticize ourselves. Ask yourself, what am I doing about my anger, my attachment, my pride, my jealousy? These are the things we should check in our day to day lives.”

No problem. I’ll work on myself. But at the same time, I also need to work on the millions of fellow citizens who think its ok to steal my income, violate my private property rights, take away my freedoms, take away my right to own and control my own body, etc. all to fulfill their vision of “nirvana.” And I include members of BOTH major political parties in that group.

Dalai Lama was the religious (and political) leader in Tibet before leaving there in 1959. During his regime there, the Tibetan government was extremely brutal. The system there was a slavery one.

I am deeply influenced by Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhism is likely the purest form of Buddhism on earth. I am not sure if Dalai Lama truly lives by Buddhist principles and by what he says, or he is just another hypocrist (which I highly suspect).
