A large majority of Europeans are becoming increasingly worried about the rapid population growth of Muslims, a February survey of the Századvég Foundation shows.
One thousand Europeans from 28 EU countries were asked: “How serious a threat to Europe is the rapid population growth of Muslims?”

Of the respondents, 40% said that they saw the threat as ‘very serious’, while another 30% said that they see it as ‘somewhat serious’.

The study also shows that 78% of respondents see illegal immigration as a serious problem, with 57% believing that the influx of migrants will change their country’s culture.
Respondents overwhelmingly believe that Europe should aid and support migrants (81%), but they believe that this should occur in their home countries.
This could be the right idea as Paul Collier, a professor at Oxford University, recently stated that Western countries could help more than one hundred refugees in their home countries for the same cost of helping just one domestically.
“We spend 135 dollars for every person who shows up here, compared to one dollar for every person that we help in their own region. Those staying home are often much weaker than the ones who have the resources to get to Europe,” the professor said at a conference of Denmark’s Social Democracy Party in Copenhagen last year.

Labor is a large part of the reason, but survival as a country demographically is also a factor. Somewhere around the early 70’s we went below that magical 2.1 births per woman. That rate is the minimum required to maintain a country’s population. We started giving amnesty around ’86 and our rates climbed to around 2.1 by 1990. Think that a coincidence? Think it had anything to do with Reagan giving amnesty and Bush giving us Family Friendly?
