College today is simply socialist progressive indoctrination. Unless you are studying engineering or some other applied field it is a complete waste of time. Money spent more wisely on a six-pack than a brain washing… Chip

Once again, blame the federal government. Federally-guaranteed student loans, ensure that virtually everyone can borrow as much money as any school decides to charge. The result- nobody saves, no college or university has to do ANYTHING to lower its costs to be affordable to anyone OR to compete with any other competitor that IS lowering its costs (because NONE ARE), and nobody can ever get out from under these loans as bankruptcy and other legal measures cannot wipe out student debt (not that I endorse in any way being able to absolve yourself of debts you willingly incur).

Of course the above posts are right on the money in that most college time is a waste of both time and money these days, but FEDERAL restrictions on hiring exams, and other mechanisms that were used in the past to weed out loser applicants, now force companies to look to pieces of paper from “accredited” colleges as their independent assessment tool.

So DRINK UP!!!

Now hold on just a cotton picking minute before you misjudge and denigrate this young man. He may currently be a serious STEM student with heavy college expenses that has dug deep into his college savings but has wisely avoided wasting time and money on beer. Suppose because of China’s counter tariff, and his diligence, he finds a way to turn the US soybeans China refuses to buy into beer and become a multi-billionaire, wouldn’t you be ashamed of yourselves.
