The Humboldt bus crash, white privilege and the media

Click to visit the TBP Store for Great TBP Merchandise

It was a horrific incident that made news around the world. Last Friday a bus carrying members of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team crashed with a tractor trailer at the intersection of two Saskatchewan highways. Currently the death toll stands at 16; the female trainer, the coach of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team, two members of the media travelling to cover the playoff game and 12 young players.

“The maleness, the youthfulness and the whiteness of the victims are, of course, playing a significant role”

In a day and age where politicians and the media do their upmost to divide people according to race and gender, the fact all the victims were white and all but one male was bound not to go unnoticed.

Two days after the fatal crash, Nora Loreto sent out the following tweet,

Loreto describes herself as an activist but she is no ordinary social justice warrior. She is a freelance journalist whose work has appeared in mainstream Canadian publications such as Maclean’s magazine and the Globe and Mail that bills itself as “Canada’s National Newspaper.” While Loreto’s views are in line with current progressive thinking, ordinary Canadians expressed their outrage at the journalist’s tweet, accusing her among other things of politicizing the tragedy and calling for her employers to fire her.

The mainstream media coverage was extensive. This reportage led to a moment of silence in Arlington, Texas before a Blue Jays/Rangers game. And Prime Minister Trudeau took time from doing who know what he does all day to take a call from President Trump who expressed his condolences. Without this extensive coverage, news of the deaths of mainly young people would have been restricted to those who live in and around the small city of Humboldt with a population of around 6,000.

While people have a right to be angry at Loreto’s tweet, it must be asked what exactly she meant when she wrote “the maleness, the youthfulness and the whiteness of the victims are, of course, playing a significant role.” Ordinary hard working taxpaying Canadians who were moved by the seemingly senseless deaths of so many young people assumed she was speaking about them. But there is another interpretation indicating Loreto’s comments are not that farfetched.

It is doubtful the freelance journalist was speaking about ordinary Canadians. The progressive elites have no idea how ordinary people live or what they think and there are plenty of examples to illustrate this point. One is the Manhattan socialite who, after the 1980 American presidential election could not understand how Ronald Reagan won because no one she knew voted for him. A better and more recent example are the political and media elites who to this day have no understanding of how Donald Trump ended up in the Oval Office instead of their beloved Hillary. Closer to home, a lot of people, including members of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, have no clue how someone like Doug Ford could win the leadership and be poised to become the next premier of the province.

As far as saying the players’ maleness and whiteness played a significant role, they undoubtedly do in Loreto’s world. Does anyone really think if a bunch of inner city black kids were killed on their way to play a championship basketball game, the media coverage would have been as extensive? To progressives, blacks and other minorities are not really people; they are members of a group who the left likes to use to portray as victims in order to further their political agenda. Such a crash would have likely been a one day story.

Ordinary Canadians should not be upset at Loreto’s tweet. She really wasn’t talking about you, she was talking about herself and the progressive world she inhabits.

Excellent commentary, and it explains precisely why there is no ‘middle ground’ in discussions with these people. They simply do not live in the same world the rest of us do, as I have said before, this world they live in is a completely artificial construct and when that construct starts to crumble there will be blood in the streets. Unfortunately.

Guess they weren’t (((fellow white))) hockey players, eh?

At least the poo-in-loo that owns the truck that blew through the stop sign and wiped out all these kids is totally broken up…

The truck is owned by Adesh Deol Trucking Ltd., which was incorporated in Alberta on April 28, 2014, according to corporate records. The sole director and shareholder is Sukhmander Singh of Calgary.

“I am scared now … lots of pressure on my mind,” Singh told reporters Wednesday. “My work is gone … my other truck is shut down now. That’s it, no work. I don’t know … I’m still waiting for the investigation, then take the next step.”

There is a cover-up of the name and ethnic background of the driver. He has not been charged as far as I know despite overwhelming evidence because they do not want to release his name. The RCMP has not been forthcoming with information. I suspect he is low-IQ cheap labor from India. Welcome to Canukistan…an emerging third-world hellhole led by Prime Minster Turdo. Canadians who voted for this heap of manure are certifiably insane.

Just because we white males have been at the forefront of the vast majority of scientific and artistic accomplishments throughout history doesn’t mean bitchy female SJWs have to like us. It’s their job to ruin our culture, and attacking the group that is most responsible for our culture is the best means of bringing that about. We we should give them credit for how much they’ve achieved in this regard. Bravo, bitches!

As a Canadian who doesn’t view hockey as something to be exalted and worshipped as a national religion, I’m more than a bit peeved at the completely over the top coverage this has received. If they’d been white male badminton players this would have been a quick report on the national news and nothing more.

The GoFundMe campaign for the families of the victims has raised over $10 million now – why? There are no medical bills in Canada for the survivors, unless we’re talking about chiropractic work or massage therapy down the road, but that would be a very minor cost. I could understand if people wanted to donate enough to pay for the funerals and associated costs of time off work, and the establishment of a scholarship fund, but $500K would have been more than enough for that. What, other than virtue signaling, compels someone to make a donation to this after the total has reached the millions?

This was a tragedy, no doubt, and took a good number of people in the prime of their life, but it was an accident and as such there is nothing that can be done. Contrast that with the 50,000 kids at risk of starvation or more instant forms of death in Yemen, in part because of the weapons the Canadian government is selling to Saudi Barbaria. If the people so consumed with the Humboldt tragedy would focus even a tenth of that much energy and concern on this, or some other issue that actually has a hope in hell of being improved by direct action, just imagine how many innocent lives could be saved.

This is just a rant – I understand that humanity isn’t anything close to rational.

Much like when Corporal Nate Cirillo was murdered near Parliament Hill, I donated only because it was the least I could do. I have family in the area and most people there cross paths with someone that has something to do with the hockey team. It’s a small place, and a terrible loss.

As for starving kids in the shit holes of the world, it’s the same as it ever was. I’d rather help Canadians in my own country.

Why not just take all donated money and give it to something truly worthy, such as Holocaust survivors, NGOs that bring in more foreign truck drivers, First Nations housing, anti-mining and anti-timber organizations, electric vehicle development, or the Trudeau Multicultural Wardrobe Fund?

I’m not a liberal and don’t believe that donating money to left wing pipe dream causes will help the recipients, expect maybe superficially in the short term.

I just find it funny/sad how people have the inclination and energy to make this a week-long media orgy, when doing so is of no help to anyone. There is no “awareness” of anything to be raised, and no dire need to be met.

Out and about today, I see lots of people wearing hockey jerseys. Why? To signal to me that you support people you don’t know 3500 km away? They don’t know you’re wearing the jersey, so you’re not signaling to them (which I can appreciate).

This article wasn’t about hockey or whether it’s overemphasized up in Canadia. It was about a stupid cunt who took a tragedy as an excuse to rail against white people.

The tweet was uncalled for, and after checking out her Twitter feed she’s obviously deranged. There has been an extremely disproportionate reaction to the tragedy, but she missed the mark. She thinks it is because they were white males, but in reality its because they were hockey players, and this is Canada. Canadians would protest far more vigourously if the gov’t announced they were going to ban hockey than if they announced they were going to import 5 million Muslims.

Our media/pop culture obsession with Tim Horton’s (which now serves rethermalized donuts made off site and is owned by an American parent company) and hockey (which despite the hype, is less than half as popular among kids as soccer) is something I just find extremely off-putting.

This accident was a tough pill to swallow here. It happened just outside of my hometown and only five miles from where we had a tragic accident that changed my family’s lives when I was six. The politicization of it has grossed me out. I think about the parents of these kids daily. Many of the boys were the same age as my son and his friends. Wish it would stop.

How about everyone stop calling for people to lose their jobs every time we disagree with the hateful things they say? That’d be great. I don’t subscribe to any of the rags this wench makes coin from and in another age public discourse may have been much more civilized, but today idiots like her get a big ol’ bullhorn to let the world know how obscene their views and opinions are. She should have enough self-respect to be embarrassed for publishing a comment like that publicly, but that isn’t the world we live in now. Social media like Twatter is diarrhea of the mind. Just look at the positively insane comments Pres. Trump has made on that “platform”. Dopamine is a hell of a rush for some.

I don’t think Ms. Twitter and the political “elite” appreciate the seething anger out there. There is a tsunami building that will level the landscape when it comes roaring over the retaining walls constructed to contain, control and plunder White men. The biological world of survival is about to reassert itself and God help all the treasonous feminists who are waging a war against Western Civilization built by European men.

Nothing is “progressive” about this article or the woman who tweeted that. Its very backwards and old fart mind set. People who constantly fluff their feathers over anything that has white people getting sympathy, notice or anything now a days simply throw the words white privilege around. People who can’t seem to let this go in any aspect of life-even when a bus full of kids died-DIED a HORRIBLE TRAGEDY-we must still make it about race…what is wrong with you people?!

This was a horrific tragedy and that’s why it got so much attention. Its awful and sad for all the parents. People poured money into GoFundME because it hit their heart with pain and sadness for the families and the entire team that was lost in this crash, not because the world saw them as “white people”. It got national, global attention which is likely why the amount of money got so high because money was coming in from around the world, not just a small community of 6000.

If a bus full of black kids died this way, I would feel just as awful and sad. I would donate to their families as well. We don’t know if the media would cover it the same or not because it hasn’t happened. To assume the worse, is being part of the problem-do you assume that because you would look at it that way? Losing a child is the worst and people felt that in this horrible accident. Compassion from strangers is what happened. Not white privilege.
