On the wall at a good pub and restaurant in my neck of the woods:

“I think society has changed tremendously in the last 25 years.
Today, everybody talks about rights and privileges.
Twenty five years ago, everybody talked about their obligations and responsibilities.”

-attributed to Lou Holtz, Notre Dame football coach

MIKE TYSON – “EVERYONE HAS A PLAN UNTIL THEY GET PUNCHED IN THE MOUTH.”

Especially when that plan consists of EVERYBODY playing by the same rules.

Ooooo, commenters gunna have some FUN w/ this one! Especially #12: ” ‘We’ should ‘judge’ OUR political system . . . “. Don’t know ’bout ya’ll but those willing to make casual presumptions about singular, let alone collective possession are immediately suspect to me of having turds in their pocket.

He is going to be the spearhead of the new controlled opposition of faux-conservatives. The first thing he will do is denounce the Alt-Right.

There is nothing to “conserve” and no place for “conservatives”. For the next couple od hundred years, we will be depending on a few people to keep the old texts and ideas alive, much like the Irish monks of the 7th &8th centuries. Our decendants will see how that wil work out.

The next cultural rebirth is a ways away, yet.
