Trump Is A Disaster

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

Trump is a disaster for the environment, for wildlife, and for human life.

Trump has handed over to polluters oil and mineral rights in US National Monuments. Mining will now deface what was before Trump protected national monuments, and oil drilling will destroy the Arctic National Refuge. He has appointed polluters to run the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and he has waived rules in order to comply with the polluting industries’ wish list.

Trump wants to cut EPA funding by 23 percent and to cut funding for restoration programs for the Great Lakes and Chesapeake Bay by 90 percent. He wants to pay for the upkeep of national parks by expanding oil and gas exploration on public lands. But he doesn’t hesitate to send the equivalent of the annual environmental budget in war criminal missile attacks on Syria and plans for attacking Iran.

To be quite clear, Trump is privatizing national property and allowing a small handful of polluting corporations to plunder public assets while he builds a case for war against Iran.

The assault on the environment started with VP Dick Cheney, but Trump has unleashed private plunder of public assets to an extreme degree.

No one has ever explained how assets owned by the American people can be turned over to a few friends and supporters of the ruling elite in Washington. In what law does the power exist for a president or federal agency chairman to expropriate public assets for plunder by politically connected friends?

The way America works, thanks to the Republican Supreme Court that legalized it, polluters bid with their campaign donations to be given permission to loot and despoil national monuments and refuges. The Supreme Court called the corporate purchase of the US government a constitutionally permitted exercise of free speech.

Existing law prevents the environmental looting, but law means nothing to Washington. We have experienced the entirety of the 21st century so far with Washington being in total noncompliance with international law, instead behaving consistently as a war criminal as defined by existing international law.

Trump has now escalated Washington’s war criminal behavior. He has unilaterally pulled out of a multi-nation agreement that ensures Iran’s nuclear non-proliferation, and he has imposed more illegal unilateral economic sanctions on Iran that punish US companies such as Boeing and corporations in numerous European countries. Trump’s foreign policy is under the control of Israel. Trump is unable to act in America’s interest or in the interest of Washington’s European, Canadian, and Australian vassals.

Trump’s stupid decision has caused rebellion among Washington’s usual compliant and well paid vassals—UK, France, and Germany. Europeans are saying that it is long past time that Europe represented its own interests instead of Washington’s. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/merkel-europe-can-no-longer-rely-on-us-protection/ar-AAx4AwV

The silver lining in Trump’s stupid decision is that it might cause Europe to become independent and to cease being a chorus praising Washington’s war crimes. Will we see a rebellion of European political figures, essentially Washington’s whores, that will break up the Empire and lead to an independent Europe?

Such a development would justify all of Putin’s hesitation to put his foot down.

As matters stand, “the coalition of the willing” is reduced to Washington and Israel. Not even a majority of Americans support Trump pulling out of the multi-nation Iran agreement, nor do they support his appointment of a war criminal, Haspal, as director of the CIA, nor do they support Trump’s permission to Israel to continue the war against Syria and to attack Iran.

But the people everywhere in the western “democracies” are powerless. They are never allowed to elect anyone who would do the right things. Invariably their votes put in office those who exploit them and peoples of other countries. This is why the other part of the world views the West as a plague upon all mankind, including the western peoples themselves.

Trump was expected to be a disaster for the environment. The hope was that the liberal/progressive/left would rally to his intent to withdraw from Syria and to normalize relations with Russia. By supporting Trump against the neoconservatives and the military/security complex, the liberal/progressive/lt would have gained some chips that could be used to moderate Trump’s assault on the environment.

Unfortunately, the liberal/progressive/left aligned with Brennan’s CIA, Comey’s FBI, and Hillary’s DNC and committed to the orchestrated “Russiagate” allegations that were intended to discredit Trump and to force him out of office. I was very disappointed to see the environmental movement join in with the orchestrated “Russiagate” conspiracy against Trump.

As a result, Trump owes environmentalists and the liberal/progressive/left nothing. The consequence is that the environment, civil liberty and peace have been lost.

Not true in the least. There are just some libertarians that get into all the global warming nonsense, although most don’t. THIS libertarian agrees that pulling out of the Iran deal is stupid and counter productive, and will only further pave the way towards a war that will likely go even worse than the rest of them we have pointlessly started in recent years. More neocon buffoonery that benefits Israel. As to the environmental stuff, opening up those areas to oil exploration is fine with me. And I applaud trump for ending our involvement in that completely one sided Paris climate accord that would only harm us.

If you have a compelling reason why you think pulling out of that Iran deal is in the interest of the average US citizen, please explain why.

The “small handful of polluting corporations to plunder public assets” might not do such a bad job as claimed in this article. Then, when they are done “plundering”, maybe Trump or someone like him will sell the public lands back into the private hands (of American private landowning citizens) where it belongs.

The author of this article is dead wrong on this…
If environmentalism restricted itself to truly caring for our natural resources, I would have no problem with it. However, with the “secret science” and questionable funding that these environmental groups possess taints the whole barrel. It turns out that many claims that environmentalists make have no basis in fact and are not based on good, honest, scientific investigation. This is why “environmental scientists” have to hide their data, as it does not fit their agenda. A good example of this is the so-called “global warming” crap, now renamed “climate change”. For one, the climate is always changing. The East Anglia emails in which data was purposely falsified by “climate scientists” comes to mind. Not only that, the “climate scientists” purposely installed temperature monitoring sensors in cities, contrary to manufacturers recommendations and good scientific practices, in asphalt-covered parking lots, and other “heat sink” areas in order to “prove” their (faulty) hypothesis. This is scientific dishonesty at its worst.
It turns out that the solar system is in a “cooling cycle” due to decreased solar activity. There are two long-term solar cycles that reinforce themselves when in phase and cancel themselves out when out-of-phase”. Look up the “Maunder minimum”. There are no SUVs on Mars or other planets, yet they are also experiencing the same solar variaability.
Environmentalism has been the method used to impose communist principles on western society–especially in the USA.
Environmentalists are not content with promoting clean water, air and land, but are hell-bent on controlling human behavior, and yes, promoting extermination plans for much of humanity as these “anointed” types consider mankind to be a pestilence (except for themselves) to be reduced in population “by any means necessary”.
Environmentalists HATE the God-given concept of private property and have imposed government-backed and enforced “land use controls” on private property owners without compensation–clearly an unconstitutional “taking” of private property. If environmentalists want to control land use, let them purchase it themselves–not by government force. Today the only method of negating government-imposed land use restrictions is “shoot, shovel, and shut up”.
If environmentalists had their way, the earth’s human population would be reduced by approximately 90%, with the remainder to (be forced) to live in cities, in soviet-style high rise apartments, utilizing bicycles, buses and trains for transportation. The use of automobiles and access to “pristine wilderness (rural) areas” would be off-limits to us mere mortals, and would only be available for these “anointed” environmentalists.
The “endangered species act” is another abuse of environmentalism. Species are always changing, to adapt to their environments–”survival if the fittest”. In fact, the hoopla over the “spotted owl” (that placed much northwest timber land “off-limits” to logging) turned out to be nothing but scientific misconduct and arrogance. There are virtually identical species in other parts of the northwest.
More scientific malpractice occurred when government biologists attempted to “plant” lynx fur in certain areas to provide an excuse for making those areas “off-limits” for logging or development. Fortunately, these “scientists” were caught–however, no punishment was given.
In a nutshell, today’s environmentalism IS communism… like watermelon…”green” on the outside and “red” (communist) on the inside…
It is interesting to note that communist and third-world countries have the WORST environmental conditions on the planet. Instead of the USA and other developed countries spending billions to get rid of that last half-percent of pollution, it would behoove the communist countries to improve their conditions first. Here is a question for you environmentalists: Why is there a push for restrictive environmental regulations, but only on the developed first-world countries, and not the “gross polluters” such as India and China?

I side with George Carlin on the environmental crap. Which by the way, I wish would just fizzle out like the bad fart that it is. Enough with the nature Nazi crap. In my 45 years on this planet all I’ve seen is recurring cycles of weather. Period. And Carlin is right. Humans thinking we as a species can effect the climate is the hight of human arrogance. The planet is much bigger and more resilient than any liberal living in their inner city bubble can comprehend.

You are spot on. And, I can add 24 years to your experience since I will be 70 lat this year. Mankind is insignificant in affecting the climate of this giant orb. Just look at Hawaii right now to see what nature is spewing out–way worse than all of mankind’s carbon footprint ever has.

“Trump wants to cut EPA funding by 23 percent..”

He should cut it by 50% and that goes for most of the Government Agencies. The EPA did a great job in its first 10-15 years; maintenance and cleanup sites should have then taken over. Like any gov’t agency, they all seek to grow – the bigger they are the more ‘power’ is bestowed upon its leader.

Most of us don’t know the details behind the PCR claims, but EPA has been nothing but a bully and political arm of the liberals and environmentalists. Pruitt is doing good deeds at EPA; the below link is an example by getting rid of the ‘secret science’ previously employed.

Great humor piece! It actually sounded like a snowflake with its panties in a wad about freedom. The author got all the talking points right. The parody might be too subtle for some, though.
