I hope they lock that asshole up for years. There is nothing that justifies that violence.

This is why you should always carry.
That pickup driver should have been shot and killed as soon as he broke the driver’s side window. Of course, you will then have to call the cops and turn yourself in, but the video evidence should help get an acquittal, or even prevent charges from being filed.
After the guy hit the person outside of a vehicle, he should have been shot, if he hadn’t been before.
THIS is why the 2nd amendment is necessary, among other reasons.

code yellow during the altercation trigger, and when the silver car should’ve noticed the truck followed him into the lot. (situational awareness)
code orange when the truck pull up on the bumper and gets out of his vehicle.
(lock and load? or attempted escape)
code red when the sledgehammer is seen and the aggressor is advancing.
(attempt to escape should have been then. not waiting to get the driver’s side window blown out)
when the silver car’s passenger who rolled out, then tried to run and escape the threat,
hammer man hits him in the back with the sledge as he’s running back to the silver car that exited the lot.
2 hollow points to the chest could have possibly been a justifiable response of self defense, but there would have been worse problems than a broken window, a twisted ankle, and broken clavicle.
The video evidence would show that an escape route had been won, so a shooting by silver car’s driver at that stage would probably be found guilty of manslaughter.
any other analysis?

I’m sure you’re right. Just about the only person justified in killing someone is a cop and they can do it in far less dangerous circumstances.

It’s a much easier deal for me than you younger guys. You have families you’re responsible for, most of your life remains in front of you. For me it’s just the old woman and I and she’s taken care of if anything happens to me. It’s not even a question to me anymore; I don’t even think about. If anyone, anything, anytime, anywhere poses a threat to her, it’s a done deal.

I see too many of these incidents where the driver of the car is in control but doesn’t realize it or doesn’t take advantage of the situation. When Mr. Pickup exited his vehicle with the sledgehammer Mr. Silver should have taken him out with his car. I would have run that fucker over and Mr. Silver had that opportunity at several points. He would have saved his friend from possible death should Mr. Pickup taken a head shot with his sledgehammer. USE YOUR CAR AS AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON.
You’re right steve. SUV should have put it in reverse at the 1:10 mark, stepped on the gas and used the car as a weapon.
Justification: trying to save the passenger from further harm.
Anon,
Unfamiliar with Baltimore I drove through the main drag for 3 miles with my family during daylight hours, going to the inner harbor. Once inside I realized the hell hole and situation we were in. I kept quiet, ready for god knows what, sweating on the inside and maintaining space around our car for a quick exit. We escaped unharmed. Never do that-drive downtown Baltimore

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

As soon as that asshat put his hammer down on the window, I would have put my .45 hammer down twice into his thoracic. Any sooner would have left some question as to your actual danger unless your are a leo.

As soon as he exited his truck with a sledge, he would have got one warning to back off and then lit up if he didn’t. This is why you carry.

Ever try to break a car window? It’s a bitch with a bat, an asp, or a pr-24.
A sledge is one of the few things that WILL come right through to the inside with a single blow.
Clearly a case of justifiable self defense. As far as the passenger? An already injured victim of assault with a deadly weapon, clearly trying to flee from his attacker?
Another clear case of justifiable defense, but of another person.
BOTH are legal use of deadly force where I live. Add to that the fact I’m now a “senior citizen”?
Oh, hell yeah.

why are you guys assuming that the guy in the truck was wrong?they could have spit on him, flipped him off, etc.–
till we know the facts i’m inclined to be in solidarity w/my northern redneck brother in arms vs a pretty boy in an overpriced crossover who wouldn’t even fight & was leaving his buddy behind-
note that the truck driver was never out of control & only popped the passenger when he got too close–
Yup. Who knows what led up to this? I wouldn’t assume the hammer guy was in the wrong.
That said, the two in the SUV were weaselly punks for not fighting back. The passenger looked sturdy enough.
I don’t always have a piece in my vehicle, but I do always have a big-ass knife and a tomahawk, and the ability to use them. In CA a gun will get you in jail, with all your firearms confiscated. That guy with the sledge… a tomahawk throw from just outside range, then he’d be gutted before he’d finished reacting to the throw, regardless of its accuracy.
I hope they lock that asshole up for years. There is nothing that justifies that violence.
