During Cleveland’s 2 terms the dollar actually increased in buying power. If I recall correctly from my Rothbard reading it gained 6%. Think of that. You bury $1,000 in the ground and dig it up years later and it’s now worth $1060. Just think of how much has been stolen from us over the years by this thieving, evil force called government.

So how would you change it and how would that work?

That is an hour long video from years ago that is unrelated to the situation you post about.

Again, what would YOU do about it and how would it work?

FWIW, I generally don’t get my information from video unless it is to confirm some quote or actual event as real or not (and even that is becoming questionable), video’s are one of the ways thinking gets manipulated on an almost unconscious level since they bypass the conscious effort needed to understand textual information and directly implant thoughts without conscious analysis of what is said. That’s how the MSM network news sources work and why they are as effective as they are.

What I do is to put forward ideas that promote the non-aggression creed at every opportunity as the final cure to a terribly diseased society and it’s ‘money’. That ‘video’ is actually an academic speech made at the Von Mises Institute on the practical application of that creed-how it would work. And if you choose to ignore it I simply move on to the next person.

If you want a technical explanation on how monetary units are valued read this: https://mises.org/library/what-has-government-done-our-money

So what it the workable solution it presents.

And an emphasis on “workable”.

FWIW, hour long video’s are rarely watched by people in discussion forums. It’s generally a waste of time to either post or watch them. At least give the specific time an answer to the question was given, but even then I was wanting to hear your thinking on the money system, not someone else’s.

I also referred him to Mises.org earlier today in a discussion about how gold standards could function. I said, and I imagine you agree that they can explain it a lot better than we can.
