It appears someone has been actively trying to demonetize my site and stop me from publishing the truth. It isn’t a coincidence that my two biggest advertisers decide to drop me in the space of two weeks. Well they’ve succeeded in wiping out 80% of my advertising revenue based on bullshit claims this is a racist website. Here is the email I received today:
Hi – apologies for any inconvenience this may create but we will be suspending service of all widgets for your sites immediately due to the violation of our terms of conditions w/ the posting of content our team and advertisers deemed racist.
Please take down all MyFinance code by end of the day, and we will still issue payment for revenue accrued to today’s date.

For the 1st time someone actually responded to my return email asking what specifically was deemed racist. Mike sent me this passage from Fred Reed’s article from a few weeks ago:

A text box showed up on my screen with the following -“Press ‘allow’ to continue”. Underneath that are two check boxes – Deny and allow. My internet software is Firefox (Mozilla). When I go to TBP via Internet Explorer the notification does not appear. It may be that Mozilla is beginning a process to deny you internet access through their software.
I’ve been seeing the same as Sionnach, except through chrome and my malware antibytes was throwing a warning screen…seems to be gone now.

I can’t distinguish between a regular and a casual reader. The page views per day are 28,000. I’d say there are about 50 to 100 regular commenters. But, that’s because newbies are too intimidated to comment for fear of being obliterated by the shit throwing monkeys.

These are terrible developments regarding freedom of communication and issues of liberty. We “tune” in very rarely and rely on our own favorite news sites and blogs to stay somewhat abreast of issues. If THEY get control of those venues for news and current events (or starve them of funding), we will either remain oblivious or plug back in. More and more, oblivion seems attractive.

I sort half get an advertiser worried that their brand might get associated with something they don’t want to be associated with is bad for them as they might then lose business However, if the game is eyeballs, they are getting their monies worth which is normally the currency they understand. Help me out here. I seem to remember, at the advent of the internet, amongst all the guffaws that the internet would be captured by advertisers and gatekeepers the titans assured us that would not be the case.
Microsoft was vilified for trying to do the thing corporations are supposed to do–make a profit. Googled was adored even as they enlisted the unwitting public to be their unpaid customer service arm.
Google invented “free Products” as a model supported by ads and captured the whole market before anyone (Yahoo, Bing, etc) could figure it out. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that’s because Google was more than willing to cooperate with the government.
As social media gained traction, and I know and remember this because I was/am involved in online marketing, they were still saying, more or less, they would find/develop a way to support the platforms that wasn’t subscription or advertising.
That’s why many, such as Pinterest, Quora, Tumblr, and Redditt, held off for as long as they did. They were still looking for the magic bullet.
Does anyone else remember it this way?
I have also given considerable thought to the fact that admin, and others, are providing a valuable service at considerable risk. Admin has balls and needs to be compensated.

On the mobile app, w/ Chrome, pop up ads rise up from the bottom of screen.
Typically I can X out of them, but now, screen redirects, to an Ad look-a-like, asks for permission to send notifications, and then Allow, or Cancel pops up. Cancel does not extinguish it. It pops back up again. It’s acting like a virus has either infected all links to the site, or infected my mobile.
On the PC, similar…open the site, and when a comment link or old post link is clicked on,
a separate tab opens up with that Ad look-a-like.
Full disclosure. I have no Ad-blocking software installed in either PC or Mobile.
Typically launch TBP using DuckDuckGo, and could usually access all links effectively.
All this started Saturday around noon.

Good cuz earlier today I was standing in line at Tim Hortons trying to get coffee and a donut. Killing time and decided to catch up on this thread. Click on it and immediately got spammed with porn.. Couldn’t get rid of the popup. It was blocking even getting to TBP site…. anyways glad to hear that it was looked after. And thank you for responding cuz I was worried that Admin’s site had been hijacked…
I got that and had to call my computer guy. Ran two virus scans and found nothing. Rebooted and no problems, but I was locked out of email for a while.

Free markets are never free for long. They inevitably end up being controlled over time as power consolidates in one way or another. The best market is a tribal market. Profits are for merchants and their ideology. Loyalty isn’t a free market concept. Its a tribal concept. TBP is more of a tribe than a market. If you want profits, you have to appeal to the wider market, even if that means selling out. If you want your principles, then the “free market” is not your friend.
((((They)))) promote the free market, and they don’t want anything in there that includes identity. They want mass appeal for their markets and profits.
BTW “Rugged individualism”, like “free market” is a term (((They))) promote to keep us out of tribes and in their markets.
