The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation tested 41,000 Americans comprising all 57 states.
—– Vermont is the ONLY state where the majority (even then, by only 53%) of residents passed the history questions on the US Citizenship Exam.
—– Louisiana had the most dumb-asses — only 27% passed. Followed by; WY, SD, MT, VA, KY, AR, AL, MS. (Lots of Southerners!)
Can YOU pass? (Me? I aced it. Truly. But, I totally guessed on question 17.)
Question: This is an incredibly easy history test. What does it say about Americans when the majority fail? Me? I say a nation with no past has no future.
[Note: I added “JOOS” to the title only in hopes of getting this to 400. TIA.)

Very impressive results, Stucky
Am I the only one that confused Ross with Antony?
Diana or Marc?
Missing one letter for group 16-19 answers or there’s an issue w/my phone. ?
16-19 = C, A, A, A
I got 4 wrong.
Damn Commie
I answered E (E = joos) for all 19 questions.
Obviously, I aced the quiz.
And your preference points are granted by whom?
17. The only one I got wrong. How the fuck did I not know that? I’m slipping.
And why so many A answers? Maybe to slip to the applicants to pick all A’s and you will pass so they don’t have to deport their asses?
You guessed right. All these form of tests are made to be passed when you pay the money to get the key.
I also missed only #17 like you and Stucky– you think we’d have remembered all of the talk about adding a “25th amendment” to impeach Trump for mental incompetency..
I got three wrong, but I have two excuses: I’m Canadian; and I’m stupid (and please don’t tell me that’s redundant).
bob,
we won’t say it’s redundant but between you, rins, and francis marion there does seem to be a pattern developing–
As another Canadian am I wrong in thinking there are NOT 57 States? Or are you guys including Guam, Puerto Rico, Guantanamo etc these days?
jimmy,
i was just coming back over here to see if anybody caught that & if not,to rag on everyone for missing it–
obama once said 57 states instead of 50 so stucky was just playing around–
I got them all, but had to guess on 17 as well. Last answer should be “A”, but it’s not listed. People should be able to get above 50%.
The reason so many “southerners” are stupid as you put it is because when the north invaded the south, they never left. Most “southerners” are transplanted yankee’s.
confederate,
the reality is that after the war between the states the union exploited & expropriated the south & left us w/an inferior education system–i believe you northerners owe us reparations–
additionally, some surplus farm animals cannot be educated–
Muh civil war
The Yankee comes to the south for a visit and quickly leaves. The Damn Yankee comes for a visit and never leaves. The God Damn Yankee comes for a visit, never leaves, and then goes on and on about how much nicer it was back home.
Told to my by the Georgia Peach wife of a classmate at a high school reunion (he, the Damn Yankee); her syrupy, sweet drawl was beyond beautiful, as was she.
I’ve always though of that southern trait as a voice so sweet it has to make your teeth rot.
Get back to the herb beds.
By the way, Stucky… I had Nick position the heat lamp on my tailbone this morning and while I still think there is therapeutic effect from the heat generated by the red and blue glow on my hinder, I am beginning to suspect a placebo effect for me. As for Nick? He needs a back brace and a forklift to carry the load the Good Lord saddled on him.
Thanks be to God.
Most southerners belong to transplanted yankees? Not getting what that means.
Missed #4 and #17.
i missed #17,the amendments–
here is a nice, very short history article–
the uss hornet, the famous carrier sunk during ww2,has been located–
article & photos–
Not american, don’t live in the states…got 16.
Got #16 and #17 wrong – I’ll take 89% correct
Oops. I actually guessed on #16 also.
I didn’t know who Publius was. But, I was damned certain Jefferson did not write any of the Federalist papers.
Anyway, I looked it up;
“The Federalist Papers) is a collection of 85 articles and essays written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay under the pseudonym “Publius””.
All correct, massa. Also, there was one out for the OZ citizenship test (only 53% pass that one). Got all those right, too.
It just goes to show that as I have said many times, the world is full of idiots. Neither Oz nor the US needs any more of them. We have more than enough.
Shamefully I missed #17. Since the constitution is irrelevant now ,I guess it makes no difference.
That is certainly true: Hussein and his sidekick Rahm said so.
This question is invalid. See below:
5)- Which of the following wars was fought by the USA in the 1800s?
Duh… Where is the real answer? The War of 1812
Huh? For that was the war where Our Flag was still there… oh holy flag.
Ran the table…
Joos?
“Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government. But that jealousy to be useful must be impartial; else it becomes the instrument of the very influence to be avoided, instead of a defense against it. Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.”
— George Washington, excerpt from his 1796 Farewell Address
AIPAC probably couldn’t have bribed him to serve foreign interests.
This “dumb-ass” from Louisiana only missed two.
Got em all but guessed at 17.
We may be dumb but we ain’t ignernt. And we ain’t as dumb as Lousyanna.
My friends from Arkansas always used to take solace that they-at #49-were always a step ahead of Mississippi. I suspected they were being considerate of Louisiana because they liked eatin Cajun and didn’t want to cut off the line of supply.
WY gets a pass: as was divulged a while back we were told there are only two escalators in Wyoming, at a bank in Casper, so it should be obvious it is hard to obtain a higher education there.
If that one doesn’t work then use the old standby: Wyoming has more jack rabbits and coyotes than people, so fill in the blank surveys are heavily skewed to the left side of the Bell.
I got them all right. Yeh!
57 states?
