I live in the country and listen to Blue Grass so I don’t need Meds. Play one of the 70s hits to the cows for laughs and see if they like it.

Was it planned or did the selection go from chasing girls to all the young dudes to free bird to life’s been good to another brick in the wall?

I’m sensing a downward progression.

All great songs, by the way.

A great sampling.
Best in class, in my opinion:
Boston’s More Than A Feeling…timeless classic w/ outstanding vocals and instantly recognizable rock guitar riffs.
2nd place, by a whisker: Salsbury Hill…

“I don’t know why
The sky is so blue

“But if there were no music
Then I would not get through”

And I don’t know why but on the worst day of my life in October 2008 I met a brown eyed woman on the beach as I sought out relief from the end of my life as I knew it. We sat at the empty bar and I asked her if she would talk with me, a plea from me to she. She said yes and she said she knew Shawn Colvin, as one of her songs played on the piped in music. I mentioned to her that Shawn had not put out any videos recently. And that I imagined she had made some but decided not to release them. The lady agreed. I said I wish she would. The viddy above was issued soon after.

She said she could call her up and go see her tomorrow if she wished. I told her my dream words from 1974 were made into a song sung best by Shawn imo. Killing The Blues. The beautiful dark haired female listened attentively as I shed my strange feelings to her. As my mind slowly attuned to my new reality buoyed by the grace of a good woman I felt a tinge of redemption. I asked my companion at H20 restaurant if she would give a kiss by proxy to Shawn. She said yes. So I invited her outside under the starry starry night skies and swaying palm trees to deliver my surrogate message to Shawn.

Here is a another song titled I Don’t Know Why by the angel who gave me a reason to go on that fateful night.

If you have ever fell in love with a house of fun dancer, the song makes sense.

“When I saw the break of day
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand”

‘Out across the endless sea
I would die in ecstasy
But I’ll be a bag of bones
Driving down the road alone”

Dude, you read my mind. According to Wiki, on this day, 3/3/72, Tull released Thick as a Brick.
With that, your request fulfilled, with the title track.

Edit: did he foresee the rise of Alex Occasional Cortex / America Off Course?

I just found out I really like Queen. I had the chance to see them in 1977 but didn’t. Another one of my life regrets .

Also I watched a show yesterday about Lynyrd Skynyrd and their jet crash in the woods of Mississippi . Some would have probably lived if the rescuers could have got to them more quickly. They crashed in the middle of nowhere. Sad.

They figured out how to transfer the angst of Layla onto tv shows so that now we all live life on the edge of our seats. How I hate that fucking song. Fucking Clapton takes you to the edge of suicide in desperation over a chick he stole from Harrison and then talks you out of slashing your wrists with a long piano piece to bring you down easy. Fucker. I liked him in Cream, though. Folks say he was the greatest guitar player next to Prince. Guess they never heard Money for Nothing by Dire Straits

Anything by Dire Straits. Knopfler’s style is haunting and always recognizable. Now he plays mostly Celtic music. Saw him a few years ago in a small venue.

Remarkably, they still play that song in Phoenix, must be all the nostalgic ex-pats from LA.

Great music! Sad how the ensuing years saw degeneration to the point where what passes for music these days is beyond sad. Then again, I’m getting older than shit……

Mygirl, I never thought there would be a time when I didn’t like what was on the radio. If I listen now, I have to listen to oldies stations or classical stations. Can’t stand the new stuff.

Joe Walsh has always been one of my favorite guitarists. I frequently tried to emulate his playing style back in the late seventies, early eighties.
That gold top Les Paul is a real eye popper !!!!
