Ride, Captain, Ride: A Request for Bards

Guest Post by M G

The world needs to review the meaning of words.

Within their glib use lies the cause of it all.

Bards and poets bound meaning to words protected by Laws

Now they crouch hidden on platforms, mouths covered with pause.

Vocabular changes are all part of life.

As are anguish and loss and brief joy midst the strife.

But Words do have meaning to the Refiner of faith.

Who never intended there be Interfaith.

And now that Pandora has opened the box

and exchanged all her eggs for a big box of cocks

and the boys have traded their guns and their tea

and inserted their manhood where it never should be.

To be continued…….

It does need some work. I hope you think it worth posting.

There is hope and after that, there is only faith
Love like a wraith

I hope the fine Bards set a tone for this date
As Longfellow from Maine did before it’s too late.

The piece is very long, I warn you; I suspect it was someone’s dissertation on Henry and they liked him a lot. However, it contains some really enlightening mentions of the life of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I think he meant what he said and said what he meant.

I wish our politicians had bards instead of lobbyists.

The British Establishment will soon be accredited with adding a new phrase to the English language; political euthanasia.

Thanks to the ridiculous prevaricating and kabuki theater since the Brexit vote, the Establishment, centered around ex students of Harrow, Eton and Oxbridge, have managed to overturn the ‘2 party system’ boat that has bore them so many riches for so long.

The latest polls out of the Yuk show that Nigel Farage’s new Brexit Party, launched only days ago, is already ahead of both mainstream parties and sundry other non-entities.

This is a shooting ones-self in the foot by the Establishment on a par with anything achieved by poor conscripts on the western front in WW1 in their desperate attempts to avoid what they saw as inevitable death. Unfortunately the Establishment in the Yuk will survive, although one hopes it will be carrying debilitating damage for decades to come.

Now if only something similar could happen to the US deep state…..

Interesting beginning. I don’t think I would teach it to my grandkids..at least not until they are a bit older.

When I mailed packages, I stopped by Sitze’s repair shop and asked how much to change shocks and struts. He quoted me 800 bucks, which sounded reasonable.

Well, this is how I spent my entire day.

In the barn helping change the struts and shocks.

And then, I wrote, “I will not pay people to do what we can do ourselves.” a hundred thousand times so there was no time yesterday to rewrite Paul Revere’s Ride. I do appreciate Admin’s response.

I find it offensive. But at least I did read it, that’s something. I am wondering why someone would publish something that they don’t consider finished?

I do, however, applaud both Admin’s willingness to put up anything that is contributed to his blog and I do also want to encourage others to follow in Maggie’s footsteps and take a stab at expanding their contributions beyond the occasional comment. Tens of thousand people view posts on TBP and yet, only a very few offer contributions. You aren’t trying for a pulitzer here. Your work does not need to be polished or even good. Just step up and take a swing. Of course, you will be set upon, that is what makes it interesting.

This blog is the only place that I know of where true free speech is allowed to happen. Use it or lose it.

“I am wondering why someone would publish something that they don’t consider finished?”

I said the same about Coleridge’s Kubla Khan

If you read it out loud, it is almost as good as listening to Sylvia Plath.

Poor child, she killed herself because she couldn’t bring back Daddy so she could kill him again, when she was ten. What did he do to her, that Daddy so black, that Daddy who knew…what? What did Daddy do? Why was she a jew, was that what Daddy did? Did Daddy diddle a jew and her mamma too. She was a gypsy, a traveler on a train to Dachau, telling fortunes and lies and wanting Daddy’s refrain, wanting Daddy’s pain and …..I forgot the rest… which rhymes with best.

Some parts are biographical and other parts are fantasy. That she misses her daddy is quite clear. If you read The Bell Jar, she was already nuts. I believe her son also committed suicide.
Damn, I can almost imagine what dark secrets you might try to suss out of Maggie’s poetry.

“I Love It”
(feat. Adele Givens)

[Adele Givens:]
‘Cause you know in the old days
They couldn’t say the shit they wanted to say
They had to fake orgasms and shit
We can tell niggas today: “Hey, I wanna cum, mothafucka”

[Lil Pump:]
You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it (I love it)
You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it (I love it)
You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it (love it, love it)
(I’ma fuck a bitch, tell her cousin)
Your boyfriend is a dork, McLovin (dork, McLovin, ooh…)

I just pulled up in a Ghost (Ghost)
Fucked that bitch up out in London (up out in)
Then I fucked up on her cousin
Or her sister, I don’t know nothin’ (uh-uh, woo)
And my niggas gettin’ ignorant
Like a lighter, bitch, we ignant (ignant, yeah)
All this water on my neck
Look like I fell when I went fishin’ (fell)
So much diamonds on my bust down
Ooh, fuck, what’s the time? (where we at?)
Me and Smokepurpp sippin’ drank (Purpp!)
Ooh, fuck, she take lines (lines)

[Lil Pump & Kanye West:]
You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it (I love it, scoop!)
You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it (I love it)

[Kanye West:]
You’re such a fuckin’ ho
When the first time they ask you if you want sparklin’ or still?
Why you try to act like you was drinkin’ sparklin’ water ‘fore you came out here?
You’re such a fuckin’ h..

I’m a sick fuck, I like a quick fuck (whoop!)
I’m a sick fuck, I like a quick fuck (whoop!)
I’m a sick fuck, I like a quick fuck (whoop!)
I’m a sick fuck, I like a quick fuck (whoop!)

I’m a sick fuck, I like a quick fuck
I like my dick sucked, I’ll buy you a sick truck
I’ll buy you some new tits, I’ll get you that nip-tuck
How you start a family? The condom slipped up
I’m a sick fuck, I’m inappropriate
I like hearin’ stories, I like that ho shit
I wanna hear more shit, I like the ho shit
Send me some more shit, you triflin’ ho bitch (bitch, bitch, bitch)

[Lil Pump:]
You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it (I love it)
You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it (I love it)

[Adele Givens:]
‘Cause you know in the old days

Longfellow wrote Pau1l Revere’s Ride about the 18tb of April in ’75.

I should have checked back later to see if Admin posted my ditty, but ended up working on a car.

When I mailed some packages, I stopped at Sitze’s repair and got a price on having all struts and shocks replaced on the Tucson. He said he could do it for less than a thousand dollars. I told my husband and he gave me a dirty look.

I spent a bit of the day in the barn, helping change struts and shocks.

Because, my husband reminded me we did not retire out here early by paying people to do stuff we can do ourselves.

I shoulda checked back last night. This makes little sense without the ballad of Paul Revere, but I did manage to get it posted for local hillbilly bards.
