California school district says parents can’t pull kids from new LGBT sex ed

ORANGE COUNTY, California, April 19, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – California is about to implement new abortion- and homosexuality-promoting sex education lessons, and one school district has told parents they have no choice but to expose their children to them.

California enacted the California Healthy Youth Act in 2015, but only now are its controversial provisions starting to take effect in classrooms. Under the auspices of health, the law says it will equip students to develop “healthy attitudes” on “gender [and] sexual orientation,” among other things. It also says it will inform students about the “effectiveness and safety of all FDA-approved contraceptive methods,” and facilitate “objective discussion” about “parenting, adoption, and abortion.”

RedState contributor Kira Davis, a resident of Orange County, California, warns that among the teaching materials approved for use under this law are a study guide for the transgender children’s book I Am Jazz, as well as a “sexual health toolkit.”

This “toolkit,” funded in part by the George Soros-connected Tides Center, offers kids tips on using sex toys and anal lubricant. It defines “anal intercourse,” “phone sex,” and more as “common sexual behaviors.” It teaches that “abstinence” and “virginity” can mean engaging in a variety of sexual activities, but stopping short of intercourse.

“What if you don’t have time or money to buy sex toys?” the guide asks on page C-51. “Cucumbers, carrots, and bananas (with the peel) make great dildos. Just remember to use a condom!”

It teaches that one of the “cons” of abstaining from all sexual activity is that it “requires motivation, self-control and communication from both partners.”

The “toolkit” lists as resources Planned Parenthood and the radically pro-homosexual and pro-abortion group Advocates for Youth.

The law also mandates that lessons and materials “affirmatively recognize” varying sexual orientations, and that they “be inclusive of same-sex relationships.” Instruction must take a positive view of gender confusion, and explore “the harm of negative gender stereotypes.”

Davis notes that the California Healthy Youth Act expressly protects parents’ rights to “excuse their children from participation” in sex education courses without penalty of any kind, because “parents and guardians have the ultimate responsibility for imparting values regarding human sexuality to their children.”

The Orange County school district apparently interprets this differently.

In a memo dated March 29 to the Orange County Board of Education, Orange County Department of Education general counsel Ronald Wenkart says that the law’s opt-out provision “does not apply to instruction, materials, or programming that discusses gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, discrimination, harassment, bullying, intimidation, relationships, or family and does not discuss human reproductive organs.”

Parents who disagree with the state’s LGBT positions “may not excuse their children from this instruction,” Wenkart continues. He then suggests that parents still having the right to “advise their children that they disagree with” such lessons compensates for this restriction.

He also cites judicial precedent to claim that “parents do not have a constitutional right to excuse their children from portions of the school curriculum that they find objectionable.”

Heidi St. John, an author and speaker who covers faith, motherhood, and homeschooling as The Busy Mom, forcefully spoke out Wednesday against the memo.

“The Orange County Department of Education feels it is their right to GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO DISAGREE WITH THEM,” she wrote on Facebook. “These are our children! They do not belong to the schools.”

St. John advises California parents to contact their local school boards and Democratic Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, the law’s author, and to pull their children out of schools that force LGBT lessons on children.

She also urges parents to participate in the Sex Ed Sit Out on April 23, an event spanning the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia in which parents pull their children out of school for the day in protest of radical sex education programs.

RedState’s Davis has similar advice.

“Make noise. Lots and lots and lots of noise,” she writes. “When [lawmakers’] constituents get cranky, they pay attention…and so few people actually call and write anymore that just a few hundred voices go a very long way to making your representative and governor think twice about proceeding with something that seems unpopular.”

Davis also stresses that parents who pull their children out ensure the school does not record it as an excused absence.

“The reason your public school demands you call to excuse a child’s absence is because they lose state and federal dollars on every unexcused absence,” she writes. “If you really want to make an impact, hit them where it hurts.”

Oh it was a big joke in the 80’s. “Where did they get their diploma from? The Highschool of Mom? Hahaha.”

Then we began to notice that they got higher SAT and ACT scores than public and even private school kids and they did better in college. It wasn’t funny anymore.

Right you are. My oldest sisters kids graduated from Princeton N.J. High which was rated #2 in the country in the early 70’s and they were functionally illiterate. They were also being taught that new math stuff.

My neighbor (if you call a half mile away a neighbor and around here, we do) has three homeschooled kids, 17, 12, and 10. All three are well mannered, incredibly conversant for children and, if asked, they will tell you their opinion.

Is why Austin got the 20 dollar tip for helping me trim the goat hooves the other day… NOT because he is obviously skilled and capable and worth the thirty bucks he asked for… because he came when I asked and understood when I told him my husband had kept these goats alive all winter and I was not going to criticize him for letting Bessie’s feet get wet.

He did the best he could. Austin nodded and said “he did a good job, but I could help you get them into the woods.”

He’s a sharp young man.

Austin already works full time putting cellulose insulation in barns around here. He probably makes more money than most adults around here. (Of course, that’s NOT saying a lot. I think the average income here is less than 20,000 a year. Really.)

Here is food for thought, especially for those who support “public education” and rally about the doctrine of “socialization” that they claim is lacking in “homeschooled” children.
Let’s look at what “public education” has to offer:
1. Cliques and rampant bullying, quite often the victims of bullying are punished more harshly for fighting back. Many times, bullies are part of a “protected” class–racial minorities, jocks, etc. There is strong official disapproval of students making friends outside their grade level. “Peer pressure” is used to push conformity.
2. Teachers that don’t teach reading writing and arithmetic. Pushing communist principles such as rabid environmentalism, blaming humanity for conditions beyond our control as well as pushing “communitarianism” (“it takes a village”)–actually communism. This also ties in with teacher-recommended feminizing and drugging (mostly boys) to make them “less fidgety” and more compliant–all for the “benefit” of the teacher.
3. Non-existent moral guidance…the communist concept of “values clarification”, allowing each student to set his own moral standard with no discussion permitted as to guidelines. A student dare not mention God or the Bible in “public school”–not permitted…discussing Islam and Judaism is OK…even field trips to mosques and synagogues are encouraged.
4. Sex education that normalizes homosexuality, transgenderism and other deviant practices, actually encouraging deviant behavior and downplaying and marginalizing heterosexuality and abstinence.
5. Insane zero tolerance practices, punishing students for pop-tarts shaped like guns or a student having an “unauthorized aspirin” or plastic butter knife. Of course, abortions and birth control are available without parental notification.
6. Lockdowns and backpack/locker searches by police utilizing “drug dogs”, getting the upcoming generation used to random unconstitutional searches. Quite often, students are “roughed up” by “school resource officers”…just because they can…Lockdowns should be reserved for prisons–not schools…
Since these “socialization” practices seem to be the norm in our “public education” systems, parents who send their children to these dysfunctional “indoctrination centers” are guilty of child abuse…
Children who are homeschooled actually do much better in life as they are comfortable with people of all ages. True socialization takes place outside the classroom.

Public schools are there to indoctrinate, not educate. The ‘teachers’ in those schools have also been indoctrinated and are full on Marxists although they would proudly call themselves Progressive and Liberal rather than Marxist. There’s nothing quite like teaching seven year olds the joys of anal sex to fulfil the promise of higher education. There’s nothing like teaching children that homosexuality is normal and homosexual sex acts are the preferred way to engage in sex and that abortion is just fine and doesn’t really kill a baby.

Then again. why in Hell are children being taught about perverse sex at such an early age, shouldn’t reading and writing and math hold sway?

Nice rant.

I hate the words “public education”. It sounds so nice, and safe to most people.

Let’s tell the truth, rather than rely on a euphemism. It’s GOVERNMENT SCHOOL or, Government Indoctrination Center. Sounds much more ominous …. and truthful.

It’s not public education; rather PUBLIC education.

Slight difference there and ties directly into my comment below about who owns us.

Words and how they are defined are so very important.

http://educationcenter2000.com/take_back_your_strawman.html

Here’s an excerpt:

HJR-192 superseded Public Law (what passes as law today is only “color of law”), replacing it with public policy. This eliminated our ability to PAY our debts, allowing only for their DISCHARGE. When we use any commercial paper (checks, drafts, warrants, federal reserve notes, etc.), and accept it as money, we simply pass the unpaid debt attached to the paper on to others, by way of our purchases and transactions. This unpaid debt, under public policy, now carries a public liability for its collection. In other words, all debt is now public.

The U. S. government, in order to provide necessary goods and services, created a commercial bond (promissory note), by pledging the property, labor, life and body of its citizens, as payment for the debt (bankruptcy). This commercial bond made chattel (property) out of every man, woman and child in the America. We became nothing more than “human resources” and collateral for the debt. This was without our knowledge and/or our consent. How? It was done through the filing (registration) of our birth certificates!

The Government – actually the elected and appointed administrators of government -took (and still do, to this day) certified copies of all our birth certificates and placed them in the United States Department of Commerce … as registered securities. These securities, each of which carries an estimated $1,000,000 (one million) dollar value, have been (and still are) circulated around the world as collateral for loans, entries on the asset side of ledgers, etc., just like any other security. There’s just one problem, we didn’t authorize it.

The United States is a District of Columbia corporation. In Volume 20: Corpus Juris Sec. § 1785 we find “The United States government is a foreign corporation with respect to a State” (see: NY re: Merriam 36 N.E. 505 1441 S. 0.1973, 14 L. Ed. 287). Since a corporation is a fictitious “person” (it can not speak, see, touch, smell, etc.), it can not, by itself, function in the real world. It needs a conduit, a transmitting utility, a liaison of some sort, to “connect” the fictional person, and fictional world in which it exists, to the real world.

This is why some refer to what we are living through as a global game of hot potato within the currency wars race to the bottom….

All the hot potatoes are FRNs that we pass around and buy stuff with in this rigged casino called an economy until one day the owners call in and exchange their chips for something else and we are stuck with all the worthless chips and the debts racked up in our names attached to our STRAWMANs are LIQUIDATED a la what happened to Germany and much of Europe in World War II.

In the past, the whole intent of public education was to prepare kids for the world of work. It was also admittedly designed to keep kids out of the labor force. Even now, they still warn you about that all-powerful high school diploma whether you have a college degree or not. This business about teaching kids values in public school was skirted in grade school, you had to go to a parochial school to get that education. However, in the 90’s kids began to learn about alternative lifestyles.

I’m not sure what the purpose of morality is, but I know it is on the good side of good vs evil, and on the survival side of life vs death. As usual, the left goes too far, encouraging extreme variations of normal and redefining them as normal. Evil wraps itself in the cloak of good, but it can hide for only so long before, as in this case, exposes itself to innocent little children.

Honestly, I don’t give a damn what men call the gospel I preach. It is Paul’s gospel; the gospel of grace hid in God since before the foundation of the world. The preaching of Jesus Christ according to the mystery revealed to Paul.

The majority of religionists hate it in favor of their own “good works”.

If it’s a hate crime to say…

I saw him sing this in St. Louis. Worked my way up to the second row with a bottle of sloe gin I’d carried inside my bra, which had a bit of room then. I swear he sang We’ve Got Tonight to me and if it had not been for all those damn security guards around the stage….

If even 10% of all parents pulled their children from the government monopoly day prison system, it would have a hard time sustaining itself and justifying itself. If 25% did, its end would be around the corner. Why do parents continue to willingly send their kids into an environment like this? It may be starting in CA, but it will become the very same problem nationwide shortly. That is always how it works.

If you don’t send the little darlings to their assigned indoctrination center, the government will put you in jail, so maybe that is why folks don’t revolt. There would have to be mass unity like the French yellow vest movement to boycott these institutions of non-learning to get anything turned around.

But, these kids here? They can shoot and gut a deer, show me where Sassafras root (want painkiller?) is when there are NO LEAVES on the tree, and they clean up good on Sunday and will be singing with their Momma at church.

It isn’t that the other kids around here aren’t good kids with potential. They just don’t have a mother and father like these three kids do.
