Permit = Permission = government permission

What is LICENSE?

In the law of contracts. A permission, accorded by a competent authority, conferring the right to do some act which without such authorization would be illegal, or would be a trespass or a tort.

License is a means by which the entrenched status quo uses the power and violence of government to limit the number of competitors in its own market. Government meanwhile, claims that its use of violence and power on behalf of this entrenched status quo, is “for our protection.” The consumer, meanwhile, is denied the opportunity to legally employ the services of providers who may be just as competent or even superior, and is sheltered from the positive effect that competition has on driving up quality and driving down prices.

I can see the day coming when people need a fucking license.
For Whites, the fucking license will probably be based on a fucking lottery system,
if it is ‘permitted’ at all.

Legalized frauds backed by legalized violence.

Or in other words: A permit (or license) is the government taking away a right and then selling it back to you.

Yes, the payments are generally annual and permission can be withdraw at will, and the conditions of the permission are always subject to change (to the benefit of someone of course).

The great enemy of idealism is reality.

In my state snapping turtles were once unprotected. With a $15 fishing license you could take as many as you want year around.

Then a group of commercial trappers came in from out of state and began cleaning out pond after pond of everyone they could catch to sell them.

Soon after came more gooberment restrictions.

What would you prefer, the gooberment restrictions or eventually no more snapping turtles at all?

Canadian Geese were once an endangered species, if not mistaken. So, the Feds & Greens said Hands Off.
Now, here we are.
It should be intelligent wildlife management. Hunters are the only group that cares about common sense practices that address overpopulation, without threatening extinction.

A parallel could be drawn with the ban on cutting / clearing overgrowth on State & Federal lands, particularly out west.
Then 2500+ acres burns up as an inferno, with loss of lives, money, and man made structures, besides all the timber that could have been harvested, and used for good, had forestry management, by competent people been provided.

The snapper argument failed to manage the out of State harvesters, by not charging them 10x more than locals to harvest, and cap their bag limit. And enforce it, by imprisoning scofflaws who work around bag limits.

Law of unintended consequences.
Road to hell is paved with good intentions.
…and squirrels who couldn’t make a decision.

The out of state status really didn’t matter. If not them eventually an in stater would have done the same thing and screwed it up as well.

EVERYONE should prefer private property rights be upheld. Who owned the ponds? If private property owners, then these turtles were THEIR’S to “sell,” not the government. If “public” property, then this is just yet another in a very long list, of reasons why the government should never be allowed to own ANYTHING. When everyone owns something, nobody owns it, and nobody actually cares for it.

Look at the national forests. Compare them to privately owned forest land. To benefit the lumber companies (who contribute heavily to campaigns), the government builds roads throughout the forests for truck access. Then they sell the trees at rock bottom rates, never recoup the costs of the roads, and let the lumber companies clear cut, etc. On privately owned land, trees are managed property, not clear-cut, replanted, and the asset is treated like one would treat one’s profitable farming venture that needs to be sustained.

Licenses are NOT the solution. Government is NEVER the solution, but damn sure 100%, they are at the root of the problem.

Animals migrate across borders naturally.
Wild animals belong to all the people of the state.
You’re a selfish brat

A Permit is a fish and you need a permit to fish for them.

Beat me to it.

Once asked by Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Dept. officer if we had a permit for some in-shore fishing, displayed a favourite Tervis tumbler with a Permit fish patch inside; he was not amused. Had to show actual government issued license for fishing or was going to get a ticket with big fine.

Wardens.
They have absolutely no sense of humor.
In the forest, and in the Pen.
But, they both deal with animals, so, understandable.
