The Bolsheviks aren’t coming. They’re already here.

Guest Post by Simon Black

The average Westerner who hasn’t traveled very much believes Moscow to be a cold, bleak, desolate capital city that’s filled with Stalinist-era architecture and a population that lives in utter misery.

But the reality of this place is nearly the complete opposite.

Moscow is a bright, beautiful, cosmopolitan city. I’ve always found Moscow to feel more European than most European capitals, with gorgeous architecture that never seems to end.

Moscow is easily as nice as Paris, London, or Vienna… with a population larger than all three. I like it here more and more every time I visit.

It has some of the nicest restaurants in the world, beautiful parks and monuments, and a highly sophisticated, educated, cultured population.

The city is quite prosperous too. But it wasn’t always that way.

Moscow was once the capital of the Soviet Empire… the most infamous and failed experiment with Socialism in the history of the world.

Russia’s humiliating tale of Socialism grew out imperial discontent– a period starting in the 1500s when wealth was concentrated in the hands of the Tsar and his key lieutenants. Everyone else lived as peasants in abject poverty.

My friends and I toured a museum at the Kremlin over the weekend and saw endless artifacts from the days of the Empire– golden chalices, diamond-encrusted silverware, magnificent carriages.

No doubt the royals lived absurdly well at the expense of everyone else. And by the early 20th century, the seeds of revolution had been firmly planted.

Lenin and his Bolsheviks finally seized power in 1917. And after they stamped out all remaining resistance and opposition, they set out to remake the country into a communist masterpiece.

It took 69 years for the Soviet Union to collapse. And by the time that happened, there was no private property, private business, or private wealth.

Decades of central planning had extinguished any incentive to work hard, take risks, and innovate. And most people were destitute and impoverished.

Yet over the past 30 years this country has become wealthy once again. Russians enjoy a high standard of living– much higher than many European countries– with some of the lowest tax rates on the continent.

(GDP per capita in Moscow is actually slightly higher than in Washington DC, and much higher than most US cities like Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, or Miami.)

None of this is due to Socialism. And Russians know it.

They still pay lip service to Lenin… there are tombs and monuments and buildings bearing his name, mostly out of reverence for history and traditions.

But Russians embraced capitalism long ago. They had their experiment with Socialism when the Bolsheviks took over in 1917. And they’re not going back.

Meanwhile, over in the Land of the Free, nearly half the country is running as fast as they can to Socialism.

The reasons are much the same as in imperial Russia– there’s growing discontent about the divide between rich and poor.

And as more and more people in the West feel left behind and barely able to make ends meet, the call to Socialism grows stronger.

There have been two formal debates so far among US Presidential candidates, both of which seemed to be Bolshevik beauty pageants.

The candidates talk about guaranteeing a government job for everyone, free education, free healthcare, eliminating private insurance altogether.

They demonize private profit and wealthy individuals, and propose more government as the solution to everything that ails the nation.

These are all Bolshevik principles ripped straight out of the Communist Manifesto– nationalization of private industry, central planning, government controlled labor and education, heavy taxation, and constantly complaining about the Bourgeoisie.

I’ve been looking back lately over the last decade of Sovereign Man (we recently hit our 10 year anniversary two weeks ago.)

Over the years I’ve written extensively about how the Bolsheviks are coming to the Land of the Free… and most of the West.

Well, those days are over. It’s clear that the Bolsheviks are no longer coming. They’re here. And their movement is firmly entrenched.

One of the Presidential candidates was actually booed and jeered at a political rally in California earlier this month by voters in his own party simply because he suggested that “Socialism is not the answer.”

A growing number of constituents believe quite adamantly that Socialism is absolutely the answer. A recent Gallup poll showed that 43% of Americans now prefer socialism to capitalism.

This isn’t some fake news conspiracy theory. It’s happening.

And acknowledging this reality doesn’t make you a doomsayer or even a pessimist. Normal, rational people should be able to see this obvious trend and at least consider having a Plan B.

We’ll talk more about that in the coming days.

Let’s see, the writer cries about the Russian Tsar and his cronies having all the wealth and then cries about people wanting to change the wealth divide here. I’ve said this plenty of times here…wealth and income inequality will kill America. It’s a cycle.

Balls, to me it seemed that his point was clearly stated. As Russia embraces capitalism and prospers the merkins embrace communism and fascism. It seems to me that you and he are in pretty much complete agreement.

HR,

The author started with…

“Russia’s humiliating tale of Socialism grew out imperial discontent– a period starting in the 1500s when wealth was concentrated in the hands of the Tsar and his key lieutenants. Everyone else lived as peasants in abject poverty.”

and then went into this…

“Lenin and his Bolsheviks finally seized power in 1917. And after they stamped out all remaining resistance and opposition, they set out to remake the country into a communist masterpiece.”

…so, they went from all wealth in few hands to spreading the wealth via communism which of course did not work.

The author then said…

“Meanwhile, over in the Land of the Free, nearly half the country is running as fast as they can to Socialism.

The reasons are much the same as in imperial Russia– there’s growing discontent about the divide between rich and poor.

And as more and more people in the West feel left behind and barely able to make ends meet, the call to Socialism grows stronger.”

When I read this, I look at the start of the 2 falls. The Russian fall from concentrated wealth to communism and what I believe will be the fall of America, socialism, due to concentrated wealth.

Hence my comment…Wealth and income inequality is a death nell.

It isn’t HOW the wealth becomes concentrated. It only matters that it does become concentrated. The social problems will become unbearable and people will vote for a change regardless if that change is good or bad. A country CANNOT be strong, imo, if wealth and income inequality get too far out of whack. What is too far out of whack? I guess we’ll find out, won’t we?

There are many factors that led to the Russian Revolution, one of the issues was inflation and costs and availability of food and the other was the burden of paying for war. .

‘The conditions during the war resulted in a devastating loss of morale within the Russian army and the general population of Russia itself. This was particularly apparent in the cities, owing to a lack of food in response to the disruption of agriculture. Food scarcity had become a considerable problem in Russia, but the cause of this did not lie in any failure of the harvests, which had not been significantly altered during wartime. The indirect reason was that the government, in order to finance the war, printed millions of ruble notes, and by 1917, inflation had made prices increase up to four times what they had been in 1914. Farmers were consequently faced with a higher cost of living, but with little increase in income. As a result, they tended to hoard their grain and to revert to subsistence farming. Thus the cities were constantly short of food. At the same time, rising prices led to demands for higher wages in the factories, and in January and February 1916, revolutionary propaganda, in part aided by German funds, led to widespread strikes. This resulted in a growing criticism of the government, including an increased participation of workers in revolutionary parties.’

The Romanov Dynasty was reeling from wars with Japan which had depleted the treasury and destroyed their navy. Sitting out WW1 would perhaps have saved Russia from the Bolsheviks. Putting all that energy into developing resources and technology would have left them in the catbird seat after 1918 with everyone else a big mess.

Imagine if you reread the few above sentences and applied the same logic to your own finances….and set yourself up for prosperity when the shtf here…..will we/you make mistakes of russia? Or will you have set yourself up to be king and make great profits after shtf? Not knowing the future or what shtf looks like, same with russia not knowing if they should not have joined ww1 but critical thinking is key, especially now.

Can Simon write a paragraph more than one sentence long? It’s like reading someone’s notes before they write an article or essay.

Like you I had a Russian grandparent. So perhaps there is a DNA/genetic connection. The image of Vlad may have been photoshopped but he is obviously enjoying whatever he is seeing, and we can assume it is something uplifting and fun and not a beheading. The young women in traditional costume are absolutely lovely, cute, charming, adorable. What kind of monsters would wish to see them eliminated from the human gene pool?

Really good article. Everyone should read it.
The article’s point about chaos is right on the money. These fuqueres are indeed felons and should go to jail, especially as they gleefully jailed or prosecuted others for far less. The Trump fighter is indeed lining up for a shot and their only hope is to fire endless chaff (looks a lot like the buffoons Nadler and Schiff) and hope the backscatter nullifies the targeting solution or that somehow some of it is sucked into the fans shutting down the pursuit.
I believe tomorrow will be an example of the chaos yet I also believe there is a plan to exploit it for good. The Antifuques and all of the most shitheaded of Progdom will be marching against the country in DC because Trump is making the parade a patriotic event.
The country will see these jackasses in all their glory hating the country and its people who don’t subscribe to their sick vision. If I am correct, it will be a fatal overreach for the shitheads. All that will be left is the amusement of watching NBC, CNN and Morning Joe & His Ho explain how communists terrorizing a 4th of July parade was justified and of course the fault of the Orange Man and we the Gloriously Deplorable.

Damn right it’s the Jews behind this shit. They are behind mass third world immigration flooding our nation. They say it , laugh about it and glorified in the fact that they are destroying us. Some say but !!!!! It’s not all Jews!!!!!. Well go to their websites and you tell me.
They know These people from Third world nations will be ,are nothing be envious thieves and parasites. They will vote for leftist progressives forever just like these blacks. They are some of the stupidest damn people on this planet but what the hell….. America is ” rich “. No America is in Debt. It’s all a debt fueled illusions. White Americans will end up poverty stricken with no way to vote themselves out of this vile shit because of all the black and brown people we have allowed into our nation.

I’ve remarked to friends that they raised the Hammer and Sickle over the white house in 1913, years before the Soviet flag existed.

If “43% of Americans prefer socialism, let’s look at that 43% in the survey.

Probably 3/4 of them are young idiots, America haters, post-65 immigrants, green card holders, welfare recipients, and so on.

So, in reality, maybe 10% of what *I* would call genuine Americans prefer socialism, not 43%.

As someone who builds AR’s and has customized many, many, I warn you ahead of time if you think you can take a bag of cheap parts and a stripped lower and whip up a rifle with no gunsmithing skills, you are going to be one very unhappy customer. You need a few hundred Dollars worth of gunsmith and AR specific tools and vice blocks along with a work bench and a really friggin’ big vice.

If you spend any time at all watching Russian dashcam footage of car accidents (there are thousands of such videos on YouTube since every Russian seems to have a dashcam), you quickly realize that Moscow isn’t a Soviet style city of the poor.

Too bad we raised our kids with patriotism and not one of self survival. A smarter father would help them understand “turnings”. And be on the lookout for them. A smart man will see our nation is in decline while others incline. A smart man will move and catch a massive wealth wave in another country. Even if it means moving there, residing there marrying there and having kids there. Then their kids can move and catch another, different countrys wealth wave. But nope, we humans have nationalist pride, and need a feeling of “home” and that instinct is taken advantage of by govts. The smart move right now would be to consider russia, iceland, ireland places where you can grow assets 30% a year or more. Vs watching these idiots destroy the usa slowly over the next 100 years (4 generations) just like russia took 69 years and now 30 more years to start its capitalist rise (100 years, 4 generations)…..
