Back when somebody proposed an Ebonics dictionary, Old Pangloss wisecracked that it would have to be written in pencil. Now I believe the old Funk and Wagnalls is written in pencil also. Or we should never have developed an online dictionary that is re-writeable. A coup used to mean an overthrow of the government. Today it means that somebody said something nasty about Trump. The legal process provided for in the constitution that gives congress the authority and power to investigate, adjudicate and remove a despot or government servant acting in bad faith is now called a coup.
