Twenty-four high-ranking Nazis go on trial in Nuremberg, Germany, for atrocities committed during World War II.
The Nuremberg Trials were conducted by an international tribunal made up of representatives from the United States, the Soviet Union, France and Great Britain. It was the first trial of its kind in history, and the defendants faced charges ranging from crimes against peace, to crimes of war, to crimes against humanity. Lord Justice Geoffrey Lawrence, the British member, presided over the proceedings, which lasted 10 months and consisted of 216 court sessions.
On October 1, 1946, 12 architects of Nazi policy were sentenced to death. Seven others were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 10 years to life, and three were acquitted. Of the original 24 defendants, one, Robert Ley, committed suicide while in prison, and another, Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach, was deemed mentally and physically incompetent to stand trial. Among those condemned to death by hanging were Joachim von Ribbentrop, Nazi minister of foreign affairs; Hermann Goering, leader of the Gestapo and the Luftwaffe; Alfred Jodl, head of the German armed forces staff; and Wilhelm Frick, minister of the interior.
On October 16, 10 of the architects of Nazi policy were hanged. Goering, who at sentencing was called the “leading war aggressor and creator of the oppressive program against the Jews,” committed suicide by poison on the eve of his scheduled execution. Nazi Party leader Martin Bormann was condemned to death in absentia (but is now believed to have died in May 1945). Trials of lesser German and Axis war criminals continued in Germany into the 1950s and resulted in the conviction of 5,025 other defendants and the execution of 806.

And one year and three months later my 6 month old sister died in Nuremberg. The death certificate says gastroenteritis. My father was a Lt. with the Army Air Force which became the Air Force 18 September, 1947, then becoming a separate and equal element of the Armed Forces. Dad had piloted a glider into France the night before D-Day. He told me it was a rough landing and the soft bodied brass he was carrying were hurt and incapacitated. There is a movie scene in Saving Private Ryan which recreates it in my imagination.
Father attended to military details in making the peace and worked closely with Gypsies as Germans generally could not be trusted. He eventually collected German Shepherd dogs to bring back to the states. I like to say I was raised by GS’s as we owned a succession of of them, from the litters guarding SAC bases.
My parents and two year old brother were billeted in a house taken from German Nationals. My mother said the couple were nice, bringing milk and things for infant Nancy Carol. Eventually I came to imagine that perhaps Nancy was poisoned, just intuition from meditations about my sister, who died one year before I was born. As a young man I asked my father if perhaps something nefarious was involved with her death. He gave me a stern look telling me not to bring up things that would upset his wife, and he did not deny my belief.

The Nazi’s original sin was that they initiated war according to the kangaroo court. That holy jurisprudence has since been flushed down the memory hole now that the u.s. has initiated multiple wars. Just another example of the ‘No one is above the law’ bullshit story.
The trials were a travesty in so many ways that an objective seeker of truth on the matter hardly knows where to start, one reason for which is that he will be incarcerated or his career destroyed for the sin of questioning or simply researching the so-called holocaust.
Though never openly brought up, Hitler’s greatest sin IMO was that, while the rest of the Western world was mired in the Great Depresion, he restored prosperity to Germany by circumventing the Rothchild ((international banking cabal)).
