A new Amazon Prime show starring Al Pacino features a group of “diverse” vigilantes who hunt down and kill “Nazis,” some of whom are depicted wearing red MAGA-style hats.
Called Hunters, the trailer for the show, which is set in New York in 1977, is dominated by Pacino’s character, a Nazi-hunting Jewish ringleader named Meyer Offerman who justifies the killings by asserting, “This is not murder, This is mitzvah.”
“For eons, people like us have been degraded and exterminated. But no more,” says Pacino as images of Jews and black people are shown.
The clips featured in the trailer portray numerous acts of violence against the “Nazis,” including stabbings, a woman being punched in the face and a car containing the victims being blown up.
According to People, the vigilante group, described as “diverse,” discovers that “hundreds of escaped Nazis are living in America” and then “set out on a bloody quest for revenge and justice.”
The plot of the show appears to bear numerous similarities to Jason Blum’s The Hunt, a horror movie that centered around a group of liberals who hunt down red state conservatives.
The release of The Hunt was postponed following criticism from President Trump and the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton.

If I’m not mistaken, the reviews of the Hunt trailer created too much empathy for Maga’s. Almost made them the good guys. That would explain the Jewish movie industry recalling it and replacing it with this one.
How can this program be presented as it depicts violence against persons who have not been given any lawful exercise of their rights – innocence until proven guilty in a court of law – let alone full due process of law?

AoC – the boerboel seems to have a natural aversion to anyone not of the same general color as their families. That disposition could come in handy in certain parts of the country.
They do not like intruders, not one bit. They will also, generally, stand side by side with their family if a stranger approaches (ours actually lean against you if a stranger comes around), not moving forward unless danger is sensed.
If kept inside, at night they will get up regularly from their beds and do a sweep of the home. They love kids, and kids love them (but I never would trust a large dog untended around kids). The claim is that they are fearless unto death if need be. They are reputedly the only dog ever bred for the sole purpose of protecting the family.
They will stare unflinchingly at people they do not know, until introduced. The boerboel “stare” is well known, and it gives folks the willies that are being examined. Salesfolk beat feet when so confronted. Mormons and other assorted proselytizers go away too.
They need to be sourced from reputable dealers, though, as with anything, unscrupulous folks are breeding them, and cross breeding them with other breeds that are affecting their characteristics.
There are several different types of boerboel, owing to the fact that they were bred for different geographical areas. Their is a hound type, a terrier type, a mastiff type, and a bulldog type. They all have much the same mixes overall, but the different types have higher percentages of their defining type. They are all big, with the mastiff type getting huge.
This is wonderful, informative information. I have three young-ish children (all Whitey and a Whitey wife, LOL). You hit on my sole concern: reputable breeders. DW is researching SA mastiffs/boerboels (spelling throws me off), Anatolian Shepherds, and Great Pyrenees at the moment.
For me personally, they sound like perfect companions. The older I get, the more interactions with people exhaust me. If I can keep more of ’em away, the happier I am. They remind me a tad of the statuesque canines in Ghostbusters, which is a good thing.

If you have room, two is great. We have one of each sex – they keep each other entertained for hours on end. But best if they are a few months apart in age – you want them bonding to you first, not just to each other. Keep them mostly separated at first if possible, so they spend most of the first few weeks bonding with you, not the other dog. And then they can be together full time.
A story re how kids love them. Had my big male in to get shots at the vet. A little girl of around 4 was there, and did not see him come in. She backed into him accidentally, turned and saw him, and freaked out, running screaming to momma. Within 2 minutes, she was back, climbed on top of him, had him by the ears and was riding him like a horse.
Her mom came over and says ”That is incredible. She has been deathly afraid of dogs her whole life, will not go near one, much less a big one, and is now riding that monster like it is her best friend forever. How is that possible?” I told her it was most likely because children can sense when they are safe, and she would understand that there is not a human on earth that could hurt her with that dog around, and that the dog loves her.
They are great dogs.
Also remember to never, ever smack them or hit them, even when potty training. They will be greatly offended, even though they would tolerate it from their family. They are part of the family and want to be treated with respect.
My experience is that they are very gentle with kids, and are fascinated by them. When mine see kids they get so excited. And vice versa.
I’d never heard of the breed before you first mentioned having them and it looks like a perfect fit for you and your environment. I especially love the timbre of their bark, very effective at giving an intruder an idea of what they’re getting into.
Are they the kind of animal that can be around livestock without causing trouble?

This is what my Presa looks like. As I said, they are livestock tenders. They generally get their ears cropped as a protective measure when fighting wolves and other predators ( Not counting Nashville Preds).
My older brother was a Bouvier fan. Had 4 or 5 of them over a 15 year period.
They usually get their ears cropped, too.

Suds – not sure of US prices, but did a quick look – crap “breeders”, to be avoided at all costs – wanting $1600 US. I would say a reputable breeder (Fuller was mentioned as one, bu I cannot confirm) might well charge $3000 – $3500. Temperament is everything, looks are much less important.
Anyone interested – AOC – should go on the SABBS website (South African Boerboel organization) which is the top world body for Boerboels, and they have a membership list of their association breeders. Then go to around page 20 of that list, which lists US members.
I recommend not buying from any breeder not on that list. I recommend not buying from any of the US boerboel organizations that are not associated with SABBS because they are not associated because of the high SABBS standards.
I highly recommend avoiding black boerboels. Do not go there. I similarly recommend avoiding brindles. Both black and brindles are suspect lines, especially the blacks.
I do recommend that the “Irish” coloured ones be considered as they are friendlier looking, if that is a concern – Irish ie brown and white. They are less intimidating looking to your neighbors, but are 100% boerboels.
I recommend against the huge bloodlines where the males get up to 200 pounds+. Stick with the ones around 150 pounds as they are healthier and longer lived.
If you can, meet sire and dam. Get elbows and hips checked. Rarely are there problems, but some bad breeders are letting it happen by bad breeding and or crossing boerboels with rotties, etc.
The bad breeders are doing a lot of damage.
SABBS is where to go to find true boerboels. Of which there were only 73 in 1980. And no black ones. How are there now black ones? Good question.

I tried to introduce a tradesman to my boerboels. They were behind a fence staring at him, as they do.
Me: “Hey, why don’t we introduce you to them? Give ’em a quick pat, and everything will be cool then.”
Tradesman, backing away: “Fuck no.”
The stare they give is unreal. They stand stock still, unmoving, and stare at strangers.

We feed them half and half. About a pound and half raw meat and 10 ounces good dry (3 cups) a day. We buy bulk raw at about $1.25 a pound. Good dry plus chicken carcasses and such would be fine.
That’s really not that bad at all given what they provide, plus friendship. Shit, with the amount of deer we have on our land, I could feed them on that alone. I need to find a reputable breeder. If they’re a farm dog, I gotta believe they’ll be good with free range chickens like you intimated above…our neighbor had issues with one of their Pyrs “playing” with the chickens which ended badly for the egg-layers.
We’ll have 2.5 acres fenced for them to run. I’d think that’d more than suffice…great topic to have, Llpoh, especially a year before 2020 NOV. Thanks!

Very cute. One of ours destroys everything in sight if you pick up his lead. He gets so excited, his tail starts whipping, his body starts swinging, it is really something to see. They love their families.
You have to watch his tail. If he hits you with it it is like being hit with a bullwhip. It really hurts.
